About 100 people across from the police station now.

I need you all to realize that what's happening in Ferguson is NOT UNIQUE. This pervasive corruption is indelibly tied to all policing. This is how it is everywhere. Why do you thing we constantly hear of new police atrocities ever few days? This is the world. This is what America really looks like.

This shit is so comically evil that if I wasn't already privy to the reality of the situation it would sound like something straight out of a John Grisham novel. What makes it worse is some people actually think its ok for the police to be judge, jury and executioner in situations like these. Guilty until proven innocent, unless of course your the police, then you can possibly lie about injuries and skip town.

I wish large protests would spread across the country too.

But he's 6'4 and 300 pounds man.

He could be 8 feet and 900 pounds of steel, he was still an unarmed teen.

Something that bugs me about all of this is the initial contact. Like, the only place I've ever seen Jaywalking enforced is smalltown Idaho, and that's cuz the cops got nothin' better to do there. I can't count the number of times in my life I've walked down the middle of a road and never been stopped by the police. That alone is enough to sorta open my eyes on all the rest of this.

Many of us know exactly what is happening in #Ferguson

Just what is happening in #Ferguson, Mr. Zimmerman? I guess I'm not one of the many privy to such exact knowledge, but you don't spell it out for those of us not "in the know" apart from saying

- No excuses 4 violence

which is clearly not something you believe applies strictly and universally, because you spoke publicly of how happy you were that your relative's excuse for his violence was accepted as valid.

I'm going to stop here because I'm starting to feel sick to my stomach.

Ok, with the incident report released that basically says nothing, I don't how anyone can now think that the police department are not covering something up. That are blatantly breaking Missouri law. If this cop is not brought up on charges I fear for race relations in this country. The LA riots might seem tame in comparison.

I haven't been totally up on this. What's the status on whether or not the altercation in Wilson's car actually occurred?

Dorian said Wilson threw the door open, it hit mike, swung back hit Wilson. Wilson got mad and grabbed mike by the neck and arm through the window, said he'd shoot him and the gun went off when Wilson unholsters it

Wilson said he opened the door, Mike slammed it shut. He reopened it, stood up and Mike bum rushed and attacked him. They struggled for the gun, it went off.

All witnesses accounts begin with Mike and Wilson struggling with eachother through the window, a shot goes off and the boys run.

The window altercation is one of the significant ways Wilson's story doesn't reflect Dorian or the other known eye witnesses.

Was this posted yet? Pretty fucking disgusting. "Suspended". Yeah.

A St. Louis County police officer, who was seen pushing a CNN anchor during protests in Ferguson, Mo., this week, was suspended from duty after a controversial video surfaced, in which he fashions himself as a merciless killer.

“I personally believe in Jesus Christ as my lord and savior, but I’m also a killer,” said officer Dan Page, a 35-year veteran, in the video. “I’ve killed a lot. And if I need to, I’ll kill a whole bunch more. If you don’t want to get killed, don’t show up in front of me. I have no problems with it. God did not raise me to be a coward." Page added, “I’m into diversity — I kill everybody. I don’t care."

St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said Page has been suspended, pending a review by the internal affairs unit, which will begin Monday. The video was brought to Belmar’s attention by CNN's Don Lemon.

“With the comments on killing, that was obviously something that deeply disturbed me immediately,” Belmar told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The comments, which were made before members of the Christian organization, the Oath Keepers, also included his story of going to Kenya in search of "undocumented president," Barack Obama. “I flew to Africa, right there, and I went to our undocumented president’s home,” Page said, holding a picture of him in Kenya. “He was born in Kenya.”

Page has been ordered to take a psychiatric exam, according to Belmar, who issued a public apology for Page's remarks. “He does not represent the rank-and-file of [the] St. Louis County Police Department,” Belmar told CNN in a Friday on-air interview.

the chief did at least say that if he were a probationary officer he would have been instantly fired

policeman's union means they have to jump through a lot of disciplinary hoops for people who have been around for a while. from the article i read the chief said the right things.

It's crazy how black people just happen to die arounds cops.

Like this guy, in the back of a squad car, handcuffed behind his back, who magically produced a handgun after being arrested and killed himself by shooting his right chest and perforating his left lung... While handcuffed, in the back of a squad car.

Is that new?

There was a rally last Saturday at Dundas Square.

Toronto Police Service has a shitty history with targeting black/brown citizens and the use of excessive force. Their behaviour during the G8/G20 summits was far from stellar.

Yeah this was probably the one from last week. I still remember the G8/G20 summits, it was terrible. Toronto's latest tragedy involved the shooting and tasering of Sammy Yatim by TPS.
