I have to give it to Skullface his probably seen how other 'devils advocates' have tripped over themselves in the previous thread and has come up with a more 'naive' approach. What an interesting attempt to derail this thread though.

That's not to say that in some departments a GED/high school diploma isn't enough though, because those certainly exist too.

It depends on the department. Coming from a family with a long history of law enforcement work, I've observed departments opting to go for lesser educated applicants and just eating the cost of training/schooling down the road because it's cheaper than hiring somebody with experience/training/education.

Which departments would those be? The ones you've observed that is.

Mix of PDs and SDs in the southeast. Particularly in towns/counties where funding for salaries has been cut and salaries have been frozen in place since the recession began.

To these departments, there's definitely more incentives to hire less experienced individuals at a lower rate and training them up than there is to get somebody with experience. Even more so if that inexperienced applicant is fresh out of the military with an unrelated MOS.

Specifically which would those be? And how did you oversee/ witness the hiring process/selection process.

Through knowing people who have worked both sides of the process and have communicated to me issues that they have faced due to funding.

I'm not going to give out their names or their departments.

I'm not sure how much training costs in Illinois and Texas, but training in Georgia (that's as much as I feel comfortable giving) is relatively cheap. It's enough to where it is cheaper in the long run to higher an officer at a lower rate and pay the few thousand dollars to put them through academy in Athens than it is to hire an already trained officer at a higher rate.

You do realize this makes your story a bit, unreliable, right? Especially considering all that goes into the hiring process and who inevitably make the selection be it the chief or a board of commissioners. There's pretty much no discernible reason for them to share that information with you.

That's odd. So these departments for whom your family presumably worked for are low on money yet they prefer to spend more on training than to save money on candidates that already have academy under their belt?


See my experience applying for Alton Illinois, Columbia Illinois and Grapevine Texas (2010-12), they all wanted someone who was previously law enforcement mostly for the purpose of saving money and reduced FTO time.

In any regard, you're not even talking about education at this point, you're only talking about a higher pay grade, which was not the originally quoted topic.

PS it's not a bodybuilding thread, and it's normally where I post on GAF. Fitgaf is best GAF.

The departments here are close knit enough to where there is communication between each other about these things. I have friends and family on that are or have been on different levels of the hiring process (including sheriffs, chiefs, and board members) and they are more than willing to be frank about some of these issues.

If you find that hard to believe, I don't really know what I can say to change your mind on it.

not stalking, just wondering why you couldn't answer a simple question. And yeah you did pop in here a few times. I was making a point broly.

anyway I don't need to know Nairume's specifics, especially if it requires compromising information. It doesn't make his story particularly unreliable, unless you feel that he's prone to compromised logic for sake of defending an ongoing damaged narrative. Like you broly jailer.

I seem to remember a poster here earlier that stated something about a department he worked in and people burned him at the stake for not providing his department.

Seems like the same situation here, but a alternate outcome. Kind of odd, no?

It's easy to say you know of a bunch of departments that intentionally hire less intelligent people, and then don't provide the actual departments.

I don't remember anyone being burned at the stake. I recall a couple of posters asking him to provide some underlying support for his statement that his PD had no racial issues. Regional generalities would have sufficed for me. We can go back and address it. If you want to add some links, feel free.

Nairume doesn't have to give me specifics of his internal information just so he can convince you, since you already seem intent on not believing anything that doesn't fit within your ideas of how things work.
 
Well, like, I said, I am uncomfortable providing the names of the departments or officers in a public post or even in a PM with a random member.

I could, however, perhaps verify with a mod through PM if that would be acceptable.

I take it the rational supporters of Mr. Wilson shut those folks that were insulting an actual resident and store owner down..no? Like the folks that would rally and help stop looters? I wouldn't be surprised if dems' silence for the most part will lead to a lot of black voters staying home next election day. Governor Nixon is a dem, remember.

So many Dems went conservative in the last decade that you can't just rely on supporting a party anymore. You have to know how a person plays their politics. Hillary could mess around and lose some support to another strong, more progressive Dem though. The world is remembering that she's even more methodical than Obama, and a warhawk to boot.

Nixon is a dem who plays conservative when it suits him. McCaskill is the same. They know what base they're playing to out there.

I know all of that, but my fear is that the average voter just sees the D by Nixon's name and the lack democrat statements and say fuck it.

he brought himself in to the cops after seeing footage of himself snooping outside homes while drunk.

The liberal agenda tries too hard to get their PR machine working to be bothered with facts. Why is everyone so hurt that a gut that just assaulted a guy, robbed a stores,and assaulted a cop is dead?. Why not focus on what this kid did wrong instead of looking for a scapegoat? Was it racism that caused him to assault and rob a non black store owner? This is why the 2nd amendment is so important.

The blue bar is an average of data from 2010-2013, while the red bar is data from a 2.5 month period of 2014??


Edit: Also, since they are including 4 TV stations that may all cover the same crime, couldn't one racial mis-identification (from an outside source like the police or an eye witness) count 4 times in their percentages?

Edit 2: Double Also, why is there an assumed 1:1 link between suspects and arrests. Maybe white and hispanic perpetrators are caught more often?
What if the relatively small sample size of crimes reported on the news contains more black suspects because they are more 'interesting' (e.g. a white person stabbing someone vs a black person shooting someone)?
