Not sure if its been posted yet but a USA today reporter did an AMA on reddit. Needless to the say the comments section will make you punch baby kittens.

I don't know whether to cry or shake my head :/

I use to go on reddit once in a while back then and always thought most people were liberal. I'm not sure what happened but ever since Ferguson, i started seeing racist comments there.

Yeah I'm pretty weirded out by the whole thing. Is this some kind of new trend on reddit or something? I've never been a heavy user of reddit and this is the first time seeing something like this on there. For the life of me I could not finish reading the comment section at all. Some of it was just down right disgusting.

Really? I haven't listened to it yet but that's just dickish to promote your product on something like this.

Yeah. I don't remember the exact line, but something about "Shots fired, and I'm not talking about Ciroc!" And I'm like, "Really?"

I'll buy the song to support the family (I need to make a normal donation as well), but that line kinda threw me. It's not a bad song though.

As it has soared in popularity, older, more conservative users have started to flock there. I call it the "Facebook Effect".

Reddit for me as gone down the shitter in the past year. The default subs are filled with horrible people making the worst comments ever.

There used to some really insightful discussion on some subreddits. Now is just a bunch of one-liners and snarky ass remarks, with lots and lots of talking points courtesy of shit news blogs. Everything seems to have gone down the shitter as of late. It almost feels like one big astroturfing by the some conservative think tank.

Makes sense. Sad to see the quality of discussions there go down.

At times, i felt like i was on breibart.

It's well known that Reddit gets astroturf by lots of major organizations. They use it to generate web hits. Also, known racist places like Stormfront actively encourage people to make Reddit accounts to promote their message.

Didn't know this. I wasn't a heavy user as well, just mostly lurked.

fuck I clicked that link by accident

great now i'm on some list
Don't worry, I'm suspecting that 90% of Stormfront users are FBI and other agents posing to setup each other without knowing it.

Like that bombing case where only one guy wasn't an agent of some organization.

What's wrong with these people :(

I think there's only a small handful of people posting.

I do know a user who shit talked GAF for years before making an account. Said it was a cancer of the gaming industry, spent ridiculous amounts of time complaining about gaffers. Now he posts here daily.

A lot of people have a strange obsession with GAF. It's just a forum.

I've been out of town and sadly out of the loop on this for the past week. It appears that the protests and police overreaction to the protests have died down? Is there any real possibility of Wilson getting charged and arrested or are we still in the mysterious "maybe, investigation ongoing, Wilson is off to Unicornland somewhere" phase?

The Grand Jury aren't expected to reach a decision until October.

I suspect that's exactly what it is. I suspect some groups actually pay people to shit up these places, like what the Russian and Chinese governments do.

That said, there's a lot of hidden racists out there, just look at ESPN comments and it's like all racial.

As darkness fell on Canfield Drive on August 9, a makeshift memorial sprang up in the middle of the street where Michael Brown's body had been sprawled in plain view for more than four hours. Flowers and candles were scattered over the bloodstains on the pavement. Someone had affixed a stuffed animal to a streetlight pole a few yards away. Neighborhood residents and others were gathering, many of them upset and angry.

Soon, police vehicles reappeared, including from the St. Louis County Police Department, which had taken control of the investigation. Several officers emerged with dogs. What happened next, according to several sources, was emblematic of what has inflamed the city of Ferguson, Missouri, ever since the unarmed 18-year-old was gunned down: An officer on the street let the dog he was controlling urinate on the memorial site.

Fuck every last one of these peices of shit and any who defend them

What does this mean? It matches up with witnesses? The pause between bursts is very damming, IMO.

There's a lot that could be argued to fit the gunshots / pauses. Honestly, I think the reason Wilson hasn't had an official statement yet is because they're waiting to see what comes to light and telling his perspective in a way that 100% fits the evidence. I can't really think of a reason why we wouldn't know his official statement yet.

I presume that the FBI would have had to take a statement from him by now, right?

Yep, and remember the prosecutor has an open invitation to Wilson to testify to the grand jury, and talks like he is not going to present a case or set any traps against him, but instead just dump all the evidence in front of the jury and call it a day.

We will be presenting absolutely everything to this grand jury. Every statement that a witness made, every witness, every photograph, every piece of physical evidence. Absolutely nothing will be left out so the grand jury is making their decision based upon absolutely everything and we'll go from there
So, while the defense gets to take all the time in the world to prepare their explanation of how the evidence fits their version of the events, Brown's side gets no legal defense and it's up to the Jury to figure that side out for themselves.

I asked because she was shot in the first couple of nights of protest, not because it wasn't related. Sorry.

Sorry, that wasn't meant to be a snippy comment. I just meant that I was pretty sure news of it hadn't shown up here so you wouldn't have to check the previous pages :)

edited for clarity

Thanks for letting me know though, I have been following this thread religiously but was worried I missed something. That whole story needs to get more coverage already.

I agree. There's something very strange going on with that story and the fact it's not being updated (to my knowledge) is very unnerving.
