I don't think my heart could take that.

because its nintendo, thats why. Its good that it doesn't look like Nintendo wasn't being a party pooper, hopefully they didn't censor the religious references either. I hate censorship.

And how does that explain anything at all? Or are we content to use the same rhetoric that Sega came up with in the 90's; you know, the one before the advent of the ESRB/PEGI et. al systems of game ratings, where the publisher's were responsible for rating their games and had no oversight? Or is it the existence of currently objectionable content that would lead to a religious-heavy game getting cut, like the Binding of Issac?

Also, wasn't it Nintendo that both gave consent for the costumes, and then said to remove the chainmail under-armor from the Link tunic because it fit the character better? What evidence is there that they have censored the religious references, since it looks like the original game is fully intact still.

And localization happens, stuff gets changed. If it doesn't compromise the integrity and intent of the original message, it's a minimal casualty.

maaannnn I'm conflicted. I jumped into the original Bayo with absolutely no context and was blown the fuck away. Maybe I should do the same with this....

Nah, who am I kidding.

It's not creepy, It's because her model is reaaaally good. Even her lips are very detailed!

But I'm gay, so I don't have any fetish with Bayonetta - or any video-game character as well.

You should not be giving explanations, there was nothing wrong with that post

O_O nudity in a nintendo published game, wow. I thought they would've been told they can't do any of that nude stuff.

Hmm? I don't get you.
Unlike popular belief, Nintendo is more prone to adding fanservice in their games than the other two. And anyway, Nintendo is considered kiddy because they don't have rivers of gore in each and every one of their titles, not because of not having partial nudity here and there.
Samus and Tharja for example are two of the most common fanservice material and Nintendo seems to know it and support it.
Besides when Samus was first seen in a tight bikini, most of GAF wasn't even born.
Also PG had free reign on their game, on all aspect expect some very welcome technical help from Nintendo SPD during development.
Nintendo is strict as hell, but not when it comes on artistic vision.

It will be longer for me before I play Bayonetta 2, I have to play Bayonetta 1 first. Have fun :)

Aww, haven't you played the first one? If you haven't and you play the two of them back to back, you are in for a treat.
I packed my 360 recently. Will now play Bayo 2 first, because i had Bayo 1 sessions untill about 3 months ago, and after i play the hell out of it, i'll play Bayo 1 once more with costumes :P
Even planning a week off work for that, i wait for release day to be announced to know when will that be.
Once again, Sonic fills the Sega slot & the game would be T if she was in.

Come on, we talked about it before.
Sega owns the IP, but the game 'Bayonetta 2' belongs to Nintendo, is copyrighted by Nintendo, they can do whatever they want with it. They can put the last copy on a disc and then burn it, it's theirs to do whatever they want with it.
The only reason Bayo is not in Smash (yes i don't believe she is ofc) is because Sakurai doesn't want to. If he and Nintendo wanted then she would be in.
About the rating now, i don't see why it would change it if her weaves left her with a bikini-like appearance for example. Smash already has more tight clothing than it's legal in most countries.

So this'll be when Nintendo announces that they've bought Platinum, right?

I hope PG keep being the hired guns they are, i love Nintendo's mentality about pure gameplay, and i support PGs venture on this beautiful platform, but the world needs more MGR and PG needs to expand because honestly, they don't deserve these sales on all their games so far.
But i would love if Nintendo could grab the Bayo IP completely from Sega. Sega right now does not deserve to have any IP of worth.
Who knows, maybe it will happen.

Btw, maybe the Wii U HW somehoe helped with lighting and textures? I wasn't expecting to see a leap, but there is, definetetly

yes, it is. and without any offense to the Wii U. I wasn't expecting a significant leap, honestly. because of..reasons

I was sure you have a WiiU.
I think that for everyone, all WiiU games are clear leaps over PS360.
The numbers may say a story, but the lighting and shading used in the WiiU can easily outshine the two prev gen bros. And as it is said already, the CPU helps too.
It may not be a powerhouse like the PS4, but the gen leap is obvious.
Imo the IQ difference between the PS360 and the WiiU is far greater than the one between the WiiU and PS4/XBOX One.
Plus Nintendo has Software Technicians that can do miracles for the first party games, allowing them to push more than you would have thought from the HW.

You should not be giving explanations, there was nothing wrong with that post

Indeed there wasn't.

When the Bayonetta package finally hits, witch game will you guys tackle first???

I'll probably play the first one because I haven't played it before(always was intrigued by it though as it had that rabid cult following) and going from the sequel's colors, etc... back to the first one won't do the first one any favors.

I'm torn.

While I really want to get to the new stuff as soon as possible? Between the knowledge that I only played the "Converted by Sega" PS3 port of the original and the nice extras added to the new port of Bayo1? Re-playing the first Bayo could technically count as much as a "new game" for me.

Plus, if nothing else, I haven't played the first game in years. It'd be a nice "warm-up" before starting the sequel!

Nop, if it's your first time playing Bayo 1, go for that first, definitely.
I was playing Bayo 1 until very recently, when i actually said i'd play the whole thing again after W101, so now it is very recent in my mind, so i'll go straight to Bayo 2 and when i have enough of it, will replay Bayo 1 once again.
But for a newcomer, surely Bayo 1 first.

It's highly likely that Nintendo has protected their B2 investment by optioning a 3rd installment. Whether sales of B2 will warrant Nintendo making it, or whether they'll want to anyway if it flops, is less easy to predict.

I love your posts man, and I agree that Wii U games look phenomenal, but I'm really not sure about this.

I'm going straight into the second one.

I've been abstaining from Bayo 1 (and throwing myself at other action games to compensate) so she'll be extra fresh next month. I've played the first game enough to relish seeing how different it is on Wii U, and not little enough that I need a refresher.

I'll be playing Bayonetta 2 next month. No matter how many times I say it back to myself, it just sounds too weird.

No. Sega owns the IP and thus they also own the character. Nintendo may own the copyrights to 'Bayonetta 2', but that doesn't mean they own the rights to the character 'Bayonetta'. That's also why they had to ask for Sega's permission to include her in TW101.

Otherwise agreed. She isn't and will not be in Smash because of Sakurai.

edit:
To be on topic, I actually haven't played the first game so I'll probably 100% or at least near 100% that first and only then go to the second one. It won't be easy though (not getting to play the second game for a while), but no can do. After playing the second one it would probably be a lot harder to go to the first one.

Thanks, and i think i'll insist. I mentioned IQ, not specs or raw power.
As you said they look phenomenal. For me they are a clear step forward from PS360 especially regarding lighting and shading, and even though they are not as good looking as the best of the other two current gen consoles obviously, they look great and run almost perfect, that's what i meant.

I don't say they own the character, i just mean that if they wanted, it would just be a request away to Sega for them, it would be good promotion anyway. In reality, Nintendo has a good foothold on the IP at the moment, so that allows them relative freedom.
If for example Sega decided to fund a multiplat Bayo 3, all by their own (and i can guarantee you that's not happening), then they would be able to move differently. But right now, as it is, Nintendo can call a few shots even though it's not their IP (yet?).

First one, keeping the best (hopefully) for the end.

I picked up the original Bayonetta on 360 after playing ~60 hours of W101.
I didn't really read much into the first game when it was released(I didn't own a PS360 back then) but now it's one of my most favourite games ever. Honesty, if I had previously realized how good it was I would have purchased a 360 just to play it on release.

I'm really looking forward to replaying Bayo 1 on Wii U, but first I'll be playing through the sequel on Normal & Hard (or just on Hard, if Normal turns out to be too easy). I'll be going for 100% in both games for sure... should keep me entertained for a long while.

I'm envious of those who have not yet played the first game.

What's the cheapest way to get a white Wii U? I couldn't care less about that new bundle, and I'm assuming they'll have a revision out at some point, so I don't want to invest heavily in this one.

I've owned one before, too (sold to cover moving expenses), so it doesn't need to be perfect.

I just really want to play this game.

If Nintendo still sells refurbished ones of that model, that'd be the most reliable way. Otherwise, getting lucky with a random person selling it secondhand.

I'm pretty sure that it's phased out and they are not on store shelves any more, so even a clearance sale can't help you.

Get a refurbished Delux WiiU off of Nintendos Online Store. I'm pretty sure they still sell 'em around $200. Comes with a 1 year warrantee.

I checked Nintendo's refurbished site a few days ago when a friend was asking for a White Wii U as well. I don't think they have anymore White models.

He wants a white one though.

They come in white too???

The white ones will be a little tough to find. There's no benefit to getting them though, unless you're in it just for the cosmetics. At which point, though, they might re-release the white color as part of a new Deluxe Set/Bundle, so getting it second hand might be a little out of the way.

Since I've never played Bayonetta, I guess I should take the advice and start with Bayonetta 1. I preordered the game on Amazon which apparently comes with a disc version of the first game.

How long does the first game take to beat on normal difficulty? I fear that I might get burned out if I played for too long. Normally I play any new game for like an hour or two, then n never play it again, so maybe I'll at least throw an hour into each game. :P

I'm going to replay Bayo 1 first to get some practice in, Haven't replayed it in months.

Then Ill tackle Bayo 2.

Only about a couple of hours to the Direct, but meh.. can't watch it anyway it's way too late then. But then again that's maybe not bad. I'll just see tomorrow the details about how they handle the European versions of the game and then watch the whole Direct after I've played the game through once (though that'll take a lot of time as I said). Will be hard to avoid it though, but I'll rather go in fresh.

Ok I apologize then. I misunderstood you.

Question
please don't burn me at the stake
if I didn't enjoy W101 will I be able to enjoy Bayonetta? I never really played these types of games such as Bayo 1 or DMC. It looks good, but feel I might not be able to get into it.
