Is Borderlands 2 really playable on the Vita? I have played NFSMW(a game you should get for the Vita if you like (open world/roaming) racing games ;P). And at some moments, I saw frame drops/frame lag. My eyes hurt a bit when I saw the frame drops/frame lag :/(I still recommend this game to anyone ;P). Also I heard bad things about the frame rate of B2. I don't know if the frame drops/frame lag are that horrible on B2 :/. So is B2 still playable(like NFSMW)? Or is it worse than NFSMW? :/
The frame rate is far from perfect in the game. That being said, I've logged about 25 hours on it within a week or two of it coming out, and I didn't even realize I played it that much. I'm FAR from being close to beating the game, and I recently got hooked on it again. The frame rate can be butter at times, and it plays amazing then. Other times, it chugs, pretty bad, but usually in large open areas, with loads of enemies, explosions, and items all over. The issues have never once made think the game was unplayable, or that I was hampered by it. I'm going a pure sniper class, and those dropped frames can make the difference between landing a critical headshot, or getting clobbered by a big nasty.
This is my first Borderlands game ever, and I couldn't be happier with it. Yea sure, I have it for ps3 thanks to PS Plus, and it plays better. Sure. But I can take my Vita anywhere, and everywhere, and jump right into the action thanks to sleep mode. Personally I love the game, and I think it is a great accomplishment despite it's flaws. Others here do not share my opinion and find it to be unplayable. It's hard to say which end you would fall in to. If you can forgive techincal issues while you play, it'd make it easier on you. You could likely find the game cheap in the B/S/T thread, though I'd personally say buy it new, but that is just to give the Devs more money

I bought mine in the BST thread, but a few weeks later Target had a great sale where I picked up the physical copy for about 17 bucks. It's still sealed, on my shelf, while I plug away at the digital version on my memory card.
Edit: D'oh, forgot to compare to NFSMW. I'm close to Platinuming NFS, and my main gripes with that game were the AI, and the game system itself...countless times the rolling start to races would put me in ridiculous places, sometimes several streets away from everyone else. I never saw the framerate in NFS get close to what is in BL. Then again, BL is a slower type game where the dropped frames won't lead to a potential immediate failure, it'll just make it more difficult sometimes.
