PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

Pre loading for Destiny is being staggered to different regions if you guys are wondering about it.

Also i went for the ghost edition i need that retail version :p

Everybody buy Transistor.

Anyone gotten their voucher from the PLAY promotion? Blog post said they be delivered no later than 9/5. I bought all four games, but haven't received my credit yet.

I've been watching for it, too, still haven't received an e-mail or a PSN message. I got three of them (so $6 voucher), not sure what the hold-up is.

Uhm... Minecraft Ps4 should only be 4€ for People who have it on Ps3 right? I dont have it and its still at this price, almost want to buy it now..

BOI release date made me wonder

Where the heck is VVVVVVita? >:(

I always wanted to play it but no way I'm going to play it with an analog instead of a dpad, let alone 3DS analog.

Does anyone own Joe Danger for Vita? How does it run? Is it fun?

Also, does anyone know if Stick It To The Man is native res? And again, is it good?.

Some folks are reporting crashes while playing (on the level of OlliOlli or worse).
Anecdotally I can say that I haven't had any crashes after playing for several hours and that the controls are responsive and it is addictive in that 'I just need to get a perfect run' sort of way.
Edit:

I can't say anything about the the specifics of Stick it to the Man's resolution on Vita other than I played it in its entirety on and it wasn't ever something I questioned. The aesthetic is unique and grotesque in a wonderfully Burton-esque or Psychonauts sort of way. The writing is by Ryan North who is also the writer of Dinosaur Comics online. It is affable and quirky in a way that reminds me of Tim Schafer's adventure games. Overall it is an endearing light platforming comic adventure game that is worth playing for the jokes alone.
Also it controls better on Vita due to the touchscreen.

I really wish Sony would announce what they're going to do with PSX and PS2 digital classics... If I can play them on the PS4 locally then I'll buy more! Like in the US Rockstar sale, I already have Max Payne and Bully on disc but if I can play them locally on the PS4 I'll pick them up so that I can have them if the disc breaks down...

GAHH!!

Same for me, I completed 1st world without any problem.

Thanks for the response. It looks like a nice bite sized game from the video that I watched (the game crashed in the video too :(). Seems like it's free on plus. Didn't notice that before.

I've had the game crash once so far (while clearing world 1) but otherwise I've been fine. Its nice and smooth as well, and yes I agree - very addictive.

I'm not a fan of remote play at all, to be honest. Most games are completely playable on the Vita, but those font sizes are way too small on the Vita's 5-inch screen. This is coming from someone who has no problem with NFSMW and Borderlands 2 on the Vita. I only really use remote play as an alternative to a second controller.
Is Borderlands 2 really playable on the Vita? I have played NFSMW(a game you should get for the Vita if you like (open world/roaming) racing games ;P). And at some moments, I saw frame drops/frame lag. My eyes hurt a bit when I saw the frame drops/frame lag :/(I still recommend this game to anyone ;P). Also I heard bad things about the frame rate of B2. I don't know if the frame drops/frame lag are that horrible on B2 :/. So is B2 still playable(like NFSMW)? Or is it worse than NFSMW? :/

Does someone remember if the PSP versions of Disgaea 1&2 were ever on sale in EU?
I want to get into the series with the first one and hoped for a Disgaea sale when the 4th game came out but they only put the 3rd one on sale (which I might buy).
It was exaclty 1 year ago(ok. The sale started on the 4th of September ;) ) that Disgaea 1 went on sale. D2 never went in sale :/(if I remember it correctly). Maybe it will be on sale again. Who knows ;P.

Has anyone got their PLAY promotion voucher yet? The promotion said the vouchers would be delivered by today, yet I haven't got mine yet and I purchased all 4 of the games.

Is Capcom DLC ever on sale? Im having a blast with Street Fighter X Tekken and some of the swap costumes are great but 18 euro for the pack when I spent 15 on the actual game... I won't pay that much just for costumes :(

Man, so tempted to get BlazBlue for vita and King of Fighters XIII for PS3... if I didn't splash out 40 euro on DJ Max Technika Tune earlier today o_o and back to college on Monday. Someone, please tell me they are not worth getting. ;__;

No PLAY Voucher yet.

Why do I look at other threads about the Vita. People just want to hate but port-beg at the same time. Ugh.

I thought port-begging is bannable? Or do Vita is an exception here?

I wonder will there ever be sale for game like Monster Monpiece?

Port-begging goes pretty much unpunished when it's a Vita game. See: Any thread that mentions Gravity Rush, or Tearaway threads prior to the PS4 announcement.

The frame rate is far from perfect in the game. That being said, I've logged about 25 hours on it within a week or two of it coming out, and I didn't even realize I played it that much. I'm FAR from being close to beating the game, and I recently got hooked on it again. The frame rate can be butter at times, and it plays amazing then. Other times, it chugs, pretty bad, but usually in large open areas, with loads of enemies, explosions, and items all over. The issues have never once made think the game was unplayable, or that I was hampered by it. I'm going a pure sniper class, and those dropped frames can make the difference between landing a critical headshot, or getting clobbered by a big nasty.

This is my first Borderlands game ever, and I couldn't be happier with it. Yea sure, I have it for ps3 thanks to PS Plus, and it plays better. Sure. But I can take my Vita anywhere, and everywhere, and jump right into the action thanks to sleep mode. Personally I love the game, and I think it is a great accomplishment despite it's flaws. Others here do not share my opinion and find it to be unplayable. It's hard to say which end you would fall in to. If you can forgive techincal issues while you play, it'd make it easier on you. You could likely find the game cheap in the B/S/T thread, though I'd personally say buy it new, but that is just to give the Devs more money :D I bought mine in the BST thread, but a few weeks later Target had a great sale where I picked up the physical copy for about 17 bucks. It's still sealed, on my shelf, while I plug away at the digital version on my memory card.

Edit: D'oh, forgot to compare to NFSMW. I'm close to Platinuming NFS, and my main gripes with that game were the AI, and the game system itself...countless times the rolling start to races would put me in ridiculous places, sometimes several streets away from everyone else. I never saw the framerate in NFS get close to what is in BL. Then again, BL is a slower type game where the dropped frames won't lead to a potential immediate failure, it'll just make it more difficult sometimes.

SOLD! You're replies are very informative and well written. Thank you :)

I actually brought up NFSMW and BL2 because people also complained about the small text sizes in those games. To answer your question, BL2 Vita is still very much playable, but there are definitely frame drops. It's been a while since I've played NFS, so I can't really compare the two.

Seems to go unabated in any talk of Vita games. "lol vita has no games but I hope they port those no games to PS4"

NISA sales are pretty rare, not sure about IFI. But Neptunia PP was on sale for EU so I guess it's possible. IMO $30 isn't too bad if you're buying it for a digital CCG. AI isn't brilliant, story is a complete afterthought (not funny or anything like Neptunia) but there's surprising variety/strategy in the cards and mountains of NPCs to fight to get cards without paying/playing online. I think you can re-battle NPCs for money/stuff too, but I actually haven't run out of NPCs since the last chapter has 10 billion optional fights.

Hey guys. I might be getting some PayPal coming in, so I wanted to know if you would recommend the Vita version of the Ratchet & Clank Collection as well as New Little King's Story. Are those competent versions of what were otherwise awesome games?

Hey no problem. I feel like Stick it to the Man went under the radar for a lot of folks even when it showed up on PS+. It's also a fairly short game and not replayable in a lot of ways, but it is definitely one of the better written and funnier games to have come out in recent times.

I just got a vita for the first time. I have been "downloading" vita games on PS+ over the months so I'd have some when I finally got the system. Whats the quickest and easiest way to get them all up on my vita to download?

Did you download them to your PS3 to transfer? If not, probably going to have to hunt for them in the store or download list. How painful the download list is depends entirely on how much you've downloaded, including PS3 and PS4. It is only NOT a pain in the ass on PS4 I'm afraid.

For everyone asking about the PSN Play voucher, they have on the terms page that it will be issued by 11:59 PST today. So, I guess, in the next 11 hours. It also says it will be sent by e-mail or by system message.

Well, I'll take your words for it. I just want some card games at the moment, and Weib Schwarz Portable isn't enough with its limited number of cards anymore.

And I'm seeing 3 Vita thread at first page. Must be Vita day?

I didn't know I could do that, plug vita into PS3 and transfer? I didn't download all the games fully just clicked download so they'd save to my account

To hate life//vita.

Not even sony loves Vita, it has no life.

SIGNS OF LIFE DAY. I'm looking forward to the fun next few years where everyone will be shouting that the Vita is dead. But for some reason it remains on the verge of death, but is still around somehow. It's the Gintama of game consoles

So another post by me bitching about Sony's total ineptitude.

The PLAY 2014 message I received on PS4, telling me to redeem the code 'below', doesn't contain any code at all.

So I have nothing to redeem, and they set it to expire in a month (why? why not a year?)

Open the PSN Store on Vita, and click on the lower right button to see your available Downloads. Thats the fastest way to get your games loaded.

Gonna finish up XBlaze Embryo, and then try to get the alt. endings/routes.
Currently at Ch. 7, how far am I from the ending?

Ratchet and clank definitely. I had zero problems with it. I think new little kings story had some framerate problems.

In other news danganronpa 2 arrived at 9.30pm thank you amazon -_-

Yo digital destiny preorderers, don't forget to preload so you kill PSN slightly less when destiny launches.

I didn't know I could do that, plug vita into PS3 and transfer? I didn't download all the games fully just clicked download so they'd save to my account

if you don't have "bubbles" on the PS3 game list that prompt you to install to Vita then you may as well just use the download list. You can get it from the Sony Entertainment Network website and download remote to Vita, the web store is faster than tapping through on console if the list is big.

You can add me if you get it, I haven't played online yet actually but I have some decent cards. I'm just used to steamrolling AI so I don't really have advanced strategies down but I think I get the idea.

Thanks for replies I am doing some games now, is there any way to find out what games are cross save and cross buy. There are some games like Pixel Junk for example that i've started on my PS4 and I notice I can download the vita version now too. Expect I don't want there to be two separate pixel junks in my trophy / game played list. Same with Sly on PS3 i've played a little and got trophies, now I can play it on vita.

If that makes sense?

I think if you own it, it's in your trophy list anyway so I wouldn't worry too much. Sony's been moving toward a single trophy list for cross buy games anyway, relatively few new releases do that.

edit:
Just got a PLAY voucher notification, ,seems I can't redeem it on my phone though

Ended up picking Disgaea 4, will pick HDN and WO3U later. I started the game and who do I find up voicing the protagonist? Troy Baker. The guy is everywhere.

That pixeljunk game has cross-save, for sure.

Got the PLAY notification, but when I looked on my PS4, it said "redeem this code" but there was nothing in between that and the next line that said "Expires October 3rd"

What gives?

got the same thing, thats weird...
edit:
clicked on the PSN Store icon from inside the message on vita and it took me to the redeem page :)

On the Vita, at least, there's a Playstation Store icon in the message, and when you click on it, it goes to the Store and then says that the amount will be added to your account. Click "Add Funds" and you're good to go.

Doesn't that go against what Tabata said to Kotaku?

Someone asked Shahid about it yesterday and even he admitted it wasn't likely. Sounds like Square just don't care.

Tabata is definitely contradicting himself. He did the same when he said months ago that Type-0 was designed for portables and that the game wouldn't suit a home console and then now he says he's had some kind of revelation and he suddenly sees it fitting big screens best.

As for SQEX, I think they do care. They sold more than 300k FFX/X-2 on Vita alone after all. But they seem hell-bent on creating a larger install-base of Final Fantasy PS4 owners (as Tabata also said) to make FFXV as successful as possible.

Something tells me this game might come to Vita eventually, but it won't be until months after released elsewhere. Perhaps even after FFXV releases.

I wonder will there ever be sale for game like Monster Monpiece?

Generally, I've seen some level of port-begging be permitted, but when it comes to Vita games, it seems to go mostly unchecked.
