To be fair, it is a different situation. Little Mac has just joined in this iteration. I personally feel adding a second rep from that (niche) series would be too much at this point.

Meanwhile, Metroid and Donkey Kong only got second reps in Brawl, and in Metroid's case it's the same damn character.

You can't say a series is too niche to have two reps when FE had two in Melee. There is no rhyme or reason to the characters Sakurai chooses.

It's not a matter of what I want or not because I don't care either way. I'm just thinking logically, and given what we know about the effort clones generally get in this series. If Dixie was getting new attacks that Diddy uses his tail for, a new up special using her hair, a new final smash using her hair, she wouldn't even be a clone at that point and would be less of a clone than Toon Link, and with her series, and that messes up the entire CSS. The clones in the clone corner are almost certainly just old alt costumes turned playable characters with maybe one or two minor animation changes. Dixie doesn't fit with them.

3. Why not just give Dixie a peanut gun? Not everything has to be super canon.

I completely agree. Two veterans since the original get only one character each, and they've have several installments since then. Punch-Out!! hasn't had nearly as many, and just got repped.

Diddy and Dixie didn't even play the same in the country games.

Honestly, Dixie would work better as a smash DK clone replacing his fists with her hair. At least then you don't have to worry about invisible tail attacks.

They would be best as a team that played exactly like DKC2. Unmodified from DKC2, they have enough moves that mirror each other (dashing, rolling, jumping in the air after each other, etc.). Switching them lets you use their unique attacks (Dixie's hair attacks, Diddy's devices etc.)

In an earlier game, Down-B might've switched between the two. It's just not possible in SSB4.

Teaming Diddy with DK would've messed up DK's status as a standalone mascot, but Diddy and Dixie are perfect together.

For someone who tried Megaman before (Japan demo, E3, SDCC), hope somebody can answer this:

- can he charge his buster by holding A? I know his forward Smash is a charged buster, but I never saw Megaman held his charge longer than by executing forward smash.
- and if he can charge by holding A, can he move or jump while charging?

I couldn't ask zipzo right now because I logged off in Twitch, but maybe somebody here have tried using Megaman enough to know a lot of his moves. I always forget asking this and kinda remembers this now. Thanks!

Probably already answered a long time ago, but no. Mega Man's forward smash is the only way to charge his buster.

I think maybe Kamek could make for a good character. Not only is it indirectly adding another Yoshi rep, but Kamek has been getting a lot of exposure these days, as Nintendo seems to be phasing out Magikoopa as a generic enemy and focusing more on Kamek as a unique character.

We'd have Bowser, Jr and Kamek. Basically the entire Koopa family, Grandpa (more or less), Father and Son.

He'd also be another magic user and we don't have a lot of them in Smash.

I'd like to see Toad and Wart (as a Bowser alt) someday myself!

Whatever the first stage I play on in Classic mode is. The first thing I do in every Smash Bros game is play through Classic as Mario.
