I have been playing the strike playlist for the last 8 hours or so and if im not mistaken players do get replaced haven't happened to me yet maybe its join in progress via a friend.

Buy enough from him and you gain rank with him. Then you can start buying uncommon gear. Just got a pair of rare boots from him! Not bad for 300 glimmer
 
Just saw that on the main hub menu, the side bar had a clickable icon. Extra XP for control matches. Is that just for me, or is everyone seeing this?
 
So....the only way to communicate with people in the world not in your fireteam is non-verbal? I want to slap whomever greenlit that design decision. Dancing is great but you can only convey so much with your hips. :(

Eh, i think he has a point. ARs are still pretty dominant despite the nerf. I don't understand why they also nerfed the Scout Rifles though...

And would it have been so hard to implement a system where the players vote on maps? God. If i see Bastion or the moon map again I'll rage.

Yeah I just gave it shot with randoms because of the Nexus bounty. I will save the others to do with people on my friends list.

At least I got some blue gear and 122 damage weapons out of it!
 
hand cannon is a beast. the very first one i picked up in the game is seemingly still more powerful than all my other weapons outside the heavies after completing 5 story missions...
 
I know I'm one of a million impression posts, but here goes.

I love it. It's a flawed game no question about it, but to me it's like a dinged up supercar. It drives really fast, but its just really rough around the edges and when you show it to you friends they don't immediately get it.

The model of progression is highly addictive, and the gameplay is extremely polished.

It's missing a lot of features and background lore. I really hate that the game throws you into the earth and the moon with explaning why you're a talking robot with boobs or a magic space elf, but eventually the story really kicks in around Venus.

I'm a level 13 titan right now and have gotten my hands on almost all the modes available to me. So far I give it a solid 8.5. It would be goty if it had:

Proximity chat and chat for multiplayer
More npcs at the tower
Two more planets
Guild finder and expanded clan features/support

Oooooh just got a Legendary Engram (class item) from the Crusible. How much do you wanna bet it'll decrypt into something ugly or plain?
 
Destiny reminds me of Vanilla Diablo 3. I'm not there yet, but the idea of running through the same strikes and 1 raid over and over doesn't sound particularly appealing, especially when the loot game seems to be pretty tame. It needs loot 2.0 and some kind of randomized strikes

...except I've said I've liked it and maybe have had...10-12 posts only on the game. Many of them with praise in there, that I'M HAVING FUN despite my issues.

This is a discussion forum. If you can't handle actual discussion, maybe you should be the one to leave. I haven't attacked anyone, or stopped your fucking enjoyment.

Once I start saying bullshit like 'you can't spend time enjoying the game' or 'you are too caught up in your own hype to recognize the faults' like so many people in the OT have been saying to folks who have valid and reasonable criticisms (not the 'game is trash' drive bys that I myself have denounced), then you can bring this bullshit you are serving me now.

Edit: As for the DLC in December, they've stated that they would reuse some areas in the main game and I'm just going to assume that they'll just be adding new areas to the planets we already have. Which is fine. I just don't expect it to change the game fundamentally.

EDIT: I'll tell you what, prove that I hate the game and show me the error of my ways. Maybe even follow through with PM. If it's that unapproachable of criticism, you shouldn't have any problems.

The worst thing about Destiny... was gamestop trying to upsell me call of duty advanced warfare on destiny's midnight launch.... fuck you try to sell me CoD.... fucking gamestop....
 
Did the moon Strike mission with a friend and a random player, we were all level 12. Goddamn that was so friggin hard, it took us almost an hour to put the guy down. We got some good rare loot of it though :P
 
One thing I don't get is why so many people are disappointed by the game but were head-over-heels in love with the beta and Alpha.

I have not played the game but maybe someone who played both and loved the beta could explain. The gameplay in the Beta was amazing, the world and atmosphere borderline majestic.


Here I am with my unopened Collector's Edition not playing because the community I trust more than anyone (NeoGaf) seems so damn divided and disappointed. Words like "flop", "failure", are quite rampant here.
 
Are the public events borked or something, I haven't run into a single one since I started playing the game. I even hung around Earth where the spider tank dropped during the Beta and nothing.

If you liked the Alpha/Beta you'll like or love the game. A lot of people just haven't jived with it, and that's not that surprising for a game like this.
