There was a city council meeting tonight, I guess? My twitter started getting a bunch of info. Sounds like the City Council didn't respond to anything that was said, and stated they would have a town hall sometime later.

Wow, this is straight up embarrassing.
Wilson and the Mayor need to lose their jobs, and Wilson better face criminal charges for this.

Shit is gonna get ugly there if Wilson isn't convicted.

In fairness, this is how most city/township councils behave and operate. With contempt of citizen.

Ferguson residents demand justice for all at city council meeting [MSNBC]...
Residents pelted the stone-faced officials with angry questions: Why had Darren Wilson, a white Ferguson officer who shot the unarmed black teenager on Aug. 9, not been arrested? Why were young African-American men so frequently arrested by the police? And why were so few black residents elected to city government?
They called for a police department overhaul, including dashboard cameras in police cars and mandatory name badges for officers.
Some people told the Council of what they called routine mistreatment by the police and indifference from city officials. Debora Young of Ferguson said that when she called the police last year to report that her car was stolen, they came and locked me up.
Mike Brown had to die for our voices to be heard, she said.
Shelly Gradford, a resident of West Florissant Avenue, faced the elected officials and echoed a frequent warning from the crowd: They were all in political danger.
You are now on notice, Ms. Gradford said. It is evident that residents of Ferguson have for a long time been harassed. This must end.
John Chasnoff of nearby University City told the officials that they had become the face of structural racism.
Youve lost your authority to govern this community, Mr. Chasnoff said. Youre going to have to step aside gracefully if this community is going to heal.

Another proposed ordinance would get rid of a number of administrative fees which may impact low-income persons to a greater extent than others. To that, the city is also looking to abolish various administrative and warrant fees.
The changes are the first concrete steps taken since Browns killing a month ago sparked outrage and greater scrutiny into what many described as a system of cops and courts that ensnared mostly poor, black residents in a web of fines and fees to the benefit of the citys coffers.
Last year the city collected more than $2 million in such costs, its second highest revenue stream. In recent years the city issued more warrants for low-level crimes and traffic offenses than there are people in the city. Black motorists were also stopped twice as much as white motorists despite whites being more likely to be caught with contraband, according to a 2013 report by the state attorney generals office.
Before the meeting, lawyer Brendan Roediger, who has been working with local activists on proposals to present to city officials that includes a warrant amnesty component, said the council changes might be made in good faith but in some aspects shouldnt be applauded.
Many of the warrant fees were illegal anyway, Roediger said. Im not sure how much the council should be congratulated for reversing them.

*to clean it.I've invited black people to my home...lol the fuck?
Oh god.
Anyone get that kind of feeling that after the meeting, behind closed doors, they were going on about how the crowd was "uppity"?
And why were so few black residents elected to city government?
Because no one runs against them.
I'm hoping that after this whole thing this will change, as I feel the black community probably has the voting power in Ferguson.
Newly obtained video captured the reactions of two men who witnessed the shooting of Michael Brown. One of them screams, "He had is f****n hands up," and motioned with his own arms. AC360 spoke to both men and they say Darren Wilson was not the only officer on the scene, there were two others. They even say that a second officer drew his weapon but did not pull the trigger. Randi Kaye spoke to one of those witnesses and breaks down the video.
Does this video change the case? Anderson discussed this with legal analysts Jeffrey Toobin and Sunny Hostin, along with Neil Bruntrager, who is General Counsel for the St. Louis Police Officers Association.

Because no one runs against them.
The mayor had two opposing candidates and he's a Republican. In a city with 69% of the population is black. smh
