I don't even think it's a matter of opinion anymore. MP games today need to have match making. Period. It's a basic feature that is an absolute must. There is absolute zero reason not to have it. If you don't want to use it, you don't have to. For the overwhelming majority that do want/need it, it's there for them too.

Especially if MM populations decrease over time. It's relatively easy to get a team together now. But how about in a couple of months?

So what's the rational for bothering to do the daily pvp mission at lvl 20+, when all it seems to give me is bonus xp?

Did Bungie really not think that maybe once people hit 20, bonus xp isn't an incentive anymore?

It will certainly be an interesting case study in whether or not things like LFG/LFR hurt or help games. I think it will hurt and push a lot of people away, but just my opinion.

I think there is an argument to be made against LFR in a game where there are actually other means of forming a group for a thing inside the game. In Destiny none of these tools beyond individually inviting people exist.

I really just don't get what they were thinking. They want people to be playing this game, presumably, for years, yet I'm not sure they've given the majority of players a reason to play past the first couple of weeks. It's a damn shame because I really thinking the foundation for greatness is there with this game.

So Bungie screwed the pooch on a shitload of things.

Bungie makes polished games with great music, a rich universe, and an attention to detail. their Achilles' heel has always been their stories and repetitive level design, as well as their tendency to make contradictory decisions.

it's business as usual, if you ask me. only somehow they forgot how to do UI and AI along the way. am especially disappointed to see that the PSN notification over the motion tracker wasn't changed at all for release. Is there an option to change the location of the notification on the PS4?

Has anyone playing solo had someone accept an invite who isn't on your friend list to play?

No matter who I invite nobody joins me. I feel like I'm missing out on the experience a bit...

You still need XP for upgrading gear, and to upgrade your class abilities.
Earning a level's worth of XP after 20 also earns you a Mote of Light, which is currency for some high level items.

I'm glad you're all starting to understand why Titan is the best class. lol "bladedancer" "blink" and "triple jump" #gso!

REMEMBER THE TITANS

I guess that's true, hadn't thought about the gear leveling and remaining class skills.

Also didn't know about the mote of light thing.

I retract my complaint regarding this!

Anyone found any cool or really useful consumables? I have Black Wax idol and Ether seeds for now. Both grant additional glimmer drops for a period of time.

I'm loving my defender titan in PvP now, armor of light increased my k/d by at least 1. Set up on a point and wait. Unsuspecting bros run into my bubble, not realizing my team mates and I have an armor boost. Punch to the face, dead.

Anyone got a followup on this question? Kinda curious about this myself. Hoping that a number of missions don't become completely pointless because all you'd get is XP which is useless after hitting 20.

EDIT: Nvm, saw the response. Thanks! Glad to hear XP is still useful.

Hello! This is the most fast moving thread ever. So I'm sorry because I know this will have been asked before. Is the game size essentially four maps the size of old Russia? I loved the alpha and beta and got hours and hours just from that map, but it'd be nice if the final version was a bit bigger.

LTTP but first new ship skin :)

Change class after you've used super.

I'm more bummed by the reset of ammo count if you change weapon.

And is there no way to shoot out from inside of Defender's dome? I launched dome as my buddy was about throw a grenade, it bounced off and killed him lol. Good thing he was right next to me so I could revive him.

It's weird, isn't it?

Bungie should have put matchmaking in...

The frustrating part is it was really fun, even though he wasn't very good. I don't mind soloing, but grinding-style missions are just more fun with another person. When I see another person doing the same mission as I am and they're solo, I usually invite them, but nothing ever comes of it. Why not?

Thankfully a few people from here have added me on their friends list and we can group up, but I still think grouping with randoms should be easier.

So for normal PvP, whens stuff is normalized, does that mean only the Impact and such bars on the weapon are the only thing that matter? Not the attack?

There was a bastard in Old Russia that fucked me over hard during the beta. It was an Ogre in a cave off a small cliff. It was immortal back then because of the level cap.

I'm level 18 now. Is he still there? Can I go there and get payback or am I still underpowered?
Still there with a purple laser that shoots out of his forehead into space. He is not to be messed with ha. There is a ghost in the cave. Me and my brother used a grenade to stun him and run in, grab ghost, grenade him again, and run away. During the beta we watched a few guys make him fall off the cliff, pretty funny.

Got to play for maybe an hour and a half to two hours last night with a friend, and it was a lot of fun. Really enjoying it so far. It's repetitive in that you are shooting things, because it's a shooter, but I'm enjoying the gameplay and the narrative is interesting. Visuals are sharp and crisp, controls are tight and responsive, and I love collecting loot and weapons.

We're hoping to get more of us together this weekend so we can have a larger group.

weapon attack and armor defense don't matter. everything else does, from rate of fire and weapon unlocks to your class trees (armor, recovery, agility, etc.)

Anyone leveled the other Titan subclass that can offer an opinion on it?
Blast Shield is god tier.
The first grenade you lock is hell of a lot better than Striker's and the grenade upgrade for defender. If you throw it right, it will automatically stick to the enemy. Two explosions = Michael Bay is Proud of me tier grenade
Disintegrate + War Machine = god tier reloading skills
Disintegrate + Relentless = Bwuahahaha you bastards are so dead tier shield

Yeah I have all the basic abilities for the second subclass now. The shield is amazingly good in more situations than I thought it would be. And you can activate it and step out of it and it won't go away for like 30 seconds. Everyone can use it whenever it's up. I use it to block off small areas, step in and out if facing a large boss or when reviving someone in a tight situation. Some enemies rush you though so you can't stay in there forever. :)

The melee ability is also nice since it gives you extra protection, and the first grenade is pretty sweet against enemies that keep close to eachother. Or enemies that teleport away from your usual grenade.
