Now I'm at end game, I'l throw my PSN in here. Already had a couple of Gaffers add me.

yatesl. UK time, likely to be on in the evenings (although I'm off work this week). The console and game is my younger brothers, but I should be on a decent amount. Hunter, currently level 20 (almost 21).

This baby right here. Absolute beast in pvp.

That's why I love the Patrol Reconnaissance (I forget the actual name) missions, where you have to first find a vantage point (often tricky to get to) and then observe the surroundings until you get 100%.
Those are cool. I do like it when they take you far away or somewhere you didn't epxpect.

I know it's not ideal to have stuff hidden in Grimoire Cards and in nooks and crannies of the game world, but to me it all fits in with the larger narrative.

Mission to mission, the story isn't super compelling (me and PoodleStrike were playing last night and I realized they're so easily disposable, since it's just Ghost talking and in co-op you're usually talking right over him to your team), but overall, the available resources of the game; the cards, the environments, etc; are telling a very rich and detailed and compelling story.[/QUOTE]
I agree, not ideal, but also agree, been reading little bits of stuff all day, some of it is pretty compelling. Wish I knew how to collect more like the Warlock Ghost Fragment I have.
Oh wow. I noticed their shields were different colored. I didn't even think of that. I like that.

This is interesting. This means you may need to prep gear and weaponry depending on boss.
Yeah kinda pumped for this. Gotta learn the rock-paper-scissors of it all.
What's so bad about this?
No idea, I figured this was a little nod to the notion that this was at some point a traditional high fantasy world.
This is my Titan atm. I'm doing a lot of Strikes to get light drops so I can get at least one more level tonight. :)

Looking good.
The Devil's Walker tank thing on the earth Strike is such a mood killer. Rest of the mission is great fun.
Man I like fighting that thing a lot.

How does radar work in multiplayer? Do you only show up when you sprint or shoot? Or are you on radar anytime you move?

As far as I am aware even if you don't move you still show up. It's literally a proximity radar that goes "he is this direction"

Really starting to get annoyed with the Crucible lag. Nearly every kill registers a second later, resulting in constant kill trades.

Yeah, I've noticed this too. I can never tell if I killed someone so I need to keep shooting at them, wasting valuable time, then the kill registers a second later. It wasn't this bad in the beta.

I played GW2 for one year from launch day. :)

Btw guys would be cool if you could add me and my friend to your PSN PS4 friendslists so we got some more guys to play with!
My PSN is Klyka1 and my friend's is Stiff_Ninja
I can't as I'm at work (bleh, my company doesn't recognize Destiny days yet) but please add me, PSN id is hawkian!

I'm confused what you mean by workarounds. If you're in a fireteam, there is voice chat. Plain and simple.

Whether your teammates choose to utilize it, is up to them. That's not the game's fault, such is the nature of today's consoles and party chat.
All I'm saying is that I'd enjoy having in-game team chat.

Ok guys I'll admit it. When using the hand canon on appropriately lvled enemies it wreaks everything.

Jesus in a hand basket
Poppin skulls left and right

Awesome. I'm level 12 Hunter, and haven't gotten a single blue drop yet. Are strikes the best way to get it? Or is it just completely random, and your chances of getting them are just doing a bunch of activities? I just started playing Crucible for the first time, and I'm finding that I'm getting a lot more green drops + leveling up much quicker than I was doing side missions and story missions.

U are very unlikely to get blue drops before 15 and very likely to get them after 20

The short answer is that you're on the radar all the time. Crouching slows the refresh rate of it but you'll still show up. The Bladedancer stealth ability might make you not show up at all but I'm not sure about that.

If you want to know all the ins and outs of how it works (including how to tell if someone is above/below you and close/far), check out the "Datto does Destiny" channel on youtube. He has a pretty good summary of it from the beta.

I'm having a lot of fun with this game.
The Devils Lair is soo much harder than the beta (or the players I was with sucked).

I"m not feeling Crucible at all. It always seem players will always be higher ranked than I, with better armor & guns, so why waste my time?

Graphics are amazing on my 64" Plasma; Loving it!

I'm sure it's been asked before but this thread moved so much faster than I can keep up with lol.

Are there any shaders for lower levels? My dude is a lvl 12 and im tired of the brownish colors my armor tends to be.

It's like you didn't even read my post at all.

Two ends of the spectrum here bro. It's all good. Let's just have fun.

I really do understand what you are saying. Besides a nice looking world ( which I really do enjoy ), there is not much to 'discover'.

Cool. Cool. Would I have to be in the vicinity of the event though? Or could I be in another planet entirely?

You're not gonna get an event notice for something on the Moon while you're on Mars.

Totally agreed, unfortunately. There's just nothing beyond going up to something and going "wow this looks good", which you can only say so many times before it wears off.

Though that was a constant refrain from me when I was wandering around Venus, cuz goddamn is that place beautiful.

there are golden chests and dead ghosts. That's about equal to finding skulls in a Halo game.

also I agree with you, this game should have chests hidden in nooks and crannies.

A few questions about Gold Loot chests (spoiler your answers incase people want to be surprised :))

- Do they re-appear, or are they only available once?
- Is it once per charachter you create or once only?
- Is the loot in them the same for every player?
- Does the loot scale with your ranking? (so maybe best to leave some till level 20?)

^^

Could anyone answer these questions please Gaffers?

Hey guys, I am a level 7 Hunter right now as I haven't been able to play much. I love the wandering around and all of that good stuff and will handle it in due time but want to ask a quick question:

What's a quick way to hop up some levels and get my hands on a really nice gun? PvP? Strikes? SP Missions? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Yeah Venus looks AMAZING

PvP delivers the most loot in my experience (haven't played many strikes though), and levels you up pretty quickly when compared to campaign missions.

I just got two pieces of Knight armor (blue) and I have a full green circle for the defense boost, but it won't let me upgrade it. I have plenty of Glimmer and Plaiting. I haven't upgraded the "Increase XX ammo" stat on them, don't want it. Anyone know the issue?

The game DOES have chests hidden, it's just that the chests spawn randomly, meaning you go down a tunnel and there is nothing but 2 days later you go into the same tunnel and there is a chest.

I think you need to upgrade each thing sequentially?

Does it bug anyone else that the none of the titans supers are useful against the damage sponge bosses?

Lol yeah def. though it's satisfying to get a boss down to a sliver and then use the Arc Blade super to finish it off :p

I did Dust Palace with a defender Titan and the shield was super-awesome.

Blast Shield is god tier.
The first grenade you lock is hell of a lot better than Striker's and the grenade upgrade for defender. If you throw it right, it will automatically stick to the enemy. Two explosions = Michael Bay is Proud of me tier grenade
Disintegrate + War Machine = god tier reloading skills
Disintegrate + Relentless = Bwuahahaha you bastards are so dead tier shield

Yeah I have all the basic abilities for the second subclass now. The shield is amazingly good in more situations than I thought it would be. And you can activate it and step out of it and it won't go away for like 30 seconds. Everyone can use it whenever it's up. I use it to block off small areas, step in and out if facing a large boss or when reviving someone in a tight situation. Some enemies rush you though so you can't stay in there forever. :)

The melee ability is also nice since it gives you extra protection, and the first grenade is pretty sweet against enemies that keep close to eachother. Or enemies that teleport away from your usual grenade.

Thanks, awesome stuff. I read all the descriptions for the skills and liked them, but I'll definitely be leveling it now.

Yeah that is true, however it does seem they nerfed the spawn rates on chests since the alpha and the beta.

or maybe RNG is just down on me lately.

You have to upgrade to get to the next upgrade.

Bleh, I finally got my first blue item and it was hand cannon. What's strange is, it takes me like 4 shots to kill someone with it (in multiplayer)....and yet a Shotgun (with far less attack damage) kills them in one shot from the same range. WTF.

Hand Cannon's are too slow to have to shoot multiple times to get a kill.
