Your Current Gen Retail purchases versus Digital purchases

So the ground rules.

1. This applies only to PS4, Wii U, and Xbox One
2. The game must be available both at retail and digitally.
3. Simply list the number of purchases you have made both digitally and through typical retail.
4. This is an edit . Iam talking direct purchases. No EA Access, bundled games, or free PS+ downloads.
Example
Wii U: 3 digital 12 retail
Ps4: 15 digital and 3 retail
Xbox One: 2 digital and 17 retail

I find this interesting because there are different types of consumers. Some like the convenience of everything being digital, some live to have that physical copy that they can hold and cherish and smell, and some like to play a physical copy and then resell it and get a new game. I for one love having the physical copy, I never resell games, but the convience of digital has won out due to my laziness.

Anyway I only own one Next Gen console so far

Xbox One: 9 digital 4 retail

Now you go

PS4: 2 retail, 0 digital.
Wii U: 6 retail, 0 digital (2 if you count Windwaker and Game and Wario, which were free to me.)
3DS: 15 retail, 2 digital
Vita: 8 retail, 3 digital

(PS4, Wii U, PC)

Digital : All
Disc : None

I don't ever want a physical disc again and I'm clearing out any PS3 and 360 versions I can get the digital versions of.

9 Physical - go a couple for under 10$
3 Digital - I just bought first 60$ digital, Diablo, I plan to buy more digitally. To November ill get 20$ back if I buy three new games
I plan to buy CoD , Sunset , and probably evil within digitally

I have three physically pr ordered and paid off with gift cards from Bing. I can buy Xbox live.money on Bing too. I'm debating going pure digital since I get th free with gift cards and gamestop money but I sell on eBay too.

Tough choice. Ease of access with Kinect commands and no disc swapping or eventually selling for 20-30..

Ps4: 6, all digital (bought cod ghosts retail for $30 off but traded it in before Christmas 2013 because I didn't see myself playing it much, hopefully advanced warfare is better!)
Xbox one: 6, all digital
Vita: all digital (really only a few indie game purchases and the rest is ps+)

Man, I think that's a horrible idea, personally. Hard drives die, and you probably won't be able to redownload them 5 years from now.

Just a reminder for those that skimmed the op. The game has to be available in both retail and physical formats, and you made the choice to buy one over the other.

I think physical is a horrible idea. Discs break, become hard to find or rare, collectors hold them hostage for a high price... but hey its all about options.

Anyway does anyone truly believe you wont be able to download ps3 games in 5 years? Thats a ridiculous notion.

PS4: Physical 5- digital 0
3DS (If this counts) Physical 3- digital 0

Discs (or carts) are cheaper, that's all that really matters to me.

Xbox One: 5 digital, 1 retail

EDIT: I like the convenience of digital. The only reason I have a retail game is because I thought I would grow tired of Ryse after I beat it.

WiiU 4 Retail 0 Digital
Ps4 4 Retail 1 Digital

The only digital Ps4 game I have is Trials Fusion because I wasn't sure I wanted to season pass (and the physical version includes it by default)

As long as the company does not go belly up, you should be fine with digital. I have 6 plus year old 360 games that are no longer available on the marketplace for purchase that I can still download at will.

Why the preference for digital XBOX games and physical Playstation games?

The ease of switching between cable tv/games without having to put in a disc caused me to go full digital on XB1 and retail on PS4. I have some digital titles on PS4 but it's mostly "Indie" stuff

PS4
Digital: 1
Physical/Retail: 6

Everything else is F2P or PS+

I'm actually buying fewer digital games than I did on PS3. Not enough good sales yet.

PS4: 10 physical - 8 digital (all PSN+ freebies)

Wii U: 27 physical - 3 digital (MK8 deal + Platinum freebie + Nano Assault)

As far as what would be considered current generation consoles, here are my current stats:

Wii U - 82 Digital (20 retail titles, 24 eshop only, 38 virtual console) / 0 Physical
3DS - 21 Digital (9 retail titles, 9 eshop only, 3 DSiWare) / 0 Physical
PS4 - 25 Digital (6 retail titles, 10 PSN only, 9 free PS+ titles) / 2 Physical

As you can see, my collection on next gen is heavily stacked on the digital side. I've had the Wii U since launch, so that's why my collection has grown so big. I've bought every major release I'd want digitally on there.

I have a question though, and since I'm still a junior, I can't make a thread of my own just yet. Anyone else gone heavily digital and have some regrets about it? Even before this gen, I started buying a lot of PS3 games digitally, and the majority for that system is also only digital for me. My Wii U lately especially though kinda bums me out at times that I own certain games only digitally. I like the convenience of having every game right there, but I do worry about losing access to my games someday, or just not having a cool box art.

Upcoming games like Bayonetta 2, and Smash Bros, I'm kinda tempted to buy physical, but I feel like I've stacked myself so heavily with the digital games at this point, that it would be silly to add any physical ones to the mix.

Wii U: 2 retail (I haven't had the system long) and when I get more games I'm getting them retail.

I'm sticking with retail when I get a PS4 too. I will never buy digital when a physical version is available. And if one isn't I may just not play it.

I am very digital on my Wii U downloading over 70 titles from eShop

my PS4 is only a few days old so I have only been playing Destiny and downloaded Velocity 2x (free)

I am kinda lost on the Playstation Store, not sure how it works but I keep seeing only 25 titles that can't be right the search feature is killing me with the 0-Z listings I am not sure what to search for smh

also I only have 500GB to work with
I have 2TB hdd connected to my WiiU

I need to buy a bigger hard drive for the PS4 to have the same digital footprint as I had on WiiU so currently retail is winning on PS4 trying hard not to pay $89 for Digital Destiny guardian edition
