Women have made money off their bodies for centuries. Thousands of years even. The only difference now is that they can do it within the safety of their home, and they can make far more money than before. I imagine that's where a lot of the anger comes from. But fuck it. If you're a young woman and you can beat the system and pay off your loans and mortage without spending 2-3 decades working a miserable 9-5 like everyone else, then I get it. I've been working for a couple decades now, and I've done pretty well. But every time I get a raise or jump to another job that pays more money, there's always something that offsets it a little. A kid, a mortage, a car, and obviously Post-Covid inflation. It's hard to get ahead these days.

People are blaming games like PEDOBlox or Fortnite (Matt Piscatella) for whatever problem they're trying to bring up. But these games don't represent the actual growth of the industry. It's like saying there are 3 billion gamers ready to play whatever Xbox game is offered for free on the cloud.

Their numbers shouldn't be used to measure or draw any kind of expectation for the industry, especially when it comes to game purchases. In fact, one could argue that PEDOBlox or Fortnite are closer to PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, or Steam: storefronts. If someone wants to equate those numbers in the context of the overall industry, they should analyze how much money is being made per experience, game modes...content inside these platforms. And I'd guess it's probably worse than all the previous platforms. I mean, you should look at the profits of Fortnite and Roblox.

The early days of being a business can be some of the most grueling and stressful times of your life. I'm not exactly pleased to basically live on a deficit my entire life until I get enough fame and reputation to start being worth something on the stock exchange. Plus you need some management skills for that shit to happen, I'm not smart enough to run a business.
Not that I'm against working trades because I will happily take an HVAC job if it means i'll never be out of work for the rest of my life. I'm trying to earn money to study for a trade school as a matter of fact.

Having worked with and managed exclusively 15 to 17 year olds over the last 20+ years, that is definitely why they are leaving. Happens all the time at my work. And I hear from other business owners in the area. Back in the day you usually had a few shitty employees. Now, it's more like you got just a few really good ones.
There's just no more work ethic. They want to already be making bank starting out and then want to be able to be on their phones while they're doing it. That's why they look up to these influencers so much. They want that lifestyle. But they don't realize only a very small number of people are actually going to make it to that lifestyle.
It doesn't help when the parents act like their kids' jobs are just glorified daycares. Acting like it's no big deal for their kids to call in sick so they can go out and have fun. Like they couldn't just do that on the two days a week they're off. Or like I said before, they get corrected for doing something wrong and the parents are in there screaming at the managers.
The one point about being able to provide for kids should be changed to be able to provide for kids including ones she brings into the relationship from past partners.

$150-170k is ultra affordable.
In my area, a decent starter condo 1 bed + 1 bath + parking spot is about $500k.
A decent townhouse or detached house will be I'd ballpark minimum $800k on the outskirts of the metro area, unless there's a trainwreck unit someone wants to dump. But more like $1M-ish or more.
A house for $150-170k is the kind of price someone bought an avg detached house in the burbs about 30 years ago (maybe even more). The first place I moved out to was about $170k. Starter condo.

I bought my 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house for $330k back in 2019. It's now worth close to $600k according to my appraiser, and that's the floor. They just built a new home in my neighborhood and are selling it for $860k. Shit is so out of control, I truly don't understand how Gen Z can afford a home these days. Not without stretching themselves very thin financially. Even with what my wife and I make, if we were still living in our apartment now, and decided to get a house today, I don't think we could. Not without some compromises. Shit's gonna start getting real interesting once the Boomers start rapidly dying off and we end up countless empty houses that nobody can afford.

Some of it has to do with confidence. Guys are more accustomed to just doing their own thing, make their own money, and are the ones comfortable doing any dangerous or crazy jobs, or pain the ass jobs slogging it outdoors in hot or cold weather (construction). Women tend to prefer easier jobs, office jobs, and indoor jobs. Typically any job with a whiff of being gross or tough, women avoid them.
I remember seeing an interesting article way back. A garbage or waste management company wanted to hire more women. The even publicly said they are seeking women (which is a discriminatory thing to do), but so be it. They said they cant fill the roles. It sounds like as long as you were female and wanted a garbageman kind of job, you probably got it. The exec said (it was a she) either the industry or her company only had 2% women.
They couldnt fill the role because she said job applications for these jobs were all guys.

Sounds like a bargain in my area! lol. I sold my 2 bed/2 bath condo a good 11 years ago for close to $600,000. It cost me a bit more than $300k 15 years ago. And I didnt even live downtown where things were jacked up even more. Bought a small detached house farther out in the burbs for about $800,000. Now worth ballpark $1.4M.
I dont think Gen Z can afford it, unless they live at home for years to build up some money so they can put down 10% (let's say about $50k) and buy a starter condo in my area.
Problem is the areas with huge real estate appreciation (not all areas skyrocketed), the demand has surely amped up as more people move into the city (hence why rents go up too). But not enough homes being built. Or the homes being built are too skewed to let's say condos. So anyone wanting a townhouse or detached house fights like crazy with bidding wars for old crusty houses, since the city's zoning laws discourage houses, but prefers the millionth 40 floor tower built.
The city has a poor view on supply and demand. They probably think if the home builders all focus on condos that alleviates demand. True for people who wants condo living. But for anyone with a big family or wants to transition to a house with a yard and two car garage, you're fucked and basically fighting for the same old houses with everyone else as very few traditional housing developments with a neighbourhood of 200 houses we all grew up in are slim to none to come by (at least in my area). It's now all condos and if youre willing to buy new.... newly built townhouse complex units costing $1M.
One thing people can do is just move and commute. One young guy at my work (who had just got engage or married I forget) moved to Stoney Creek, ON. It's a bit of a drive from the metro core. In rush hour it must had taken the guy an hour and a half commute each way. But he bit the bullet because it's all he could afford. He didnt want condo life with his girl. He got i think a small house there and committed to the distance. And this was before covid WFH. He left the company shortly after and I didnt know him well. I wonder if he's still there or moved.
