Fun fact: Here in Japan, all first edition boxed copies of Destiny come with the Exclusive Sparrow and Vanguard Armory codes.

This is one thing I continue to love about buying games in Japan.

So im level 6. I cannot kill anybody in the crucible. Like at all. Everyone is so highly leveled already it's almost impossible for me to kill someone.

Am I missing something? Is there a traditional Bungie Halo style multiplayer where everyone has the same starting loadout?

Normal multiplayer mode is scaled so high level players don't have a gigantic advantage over lower level players.

If you're getting wrecked, chances are that you are simply not as good the players you are palying.

No legendary, but I got this...

How? Just ... How?

To support this, on my first character and first crucible runs, I did terribly. After leveling that character almost entirely in crucible control and starting a second, I consistently am ending up at the top of the scoreboard.

It's all pretty even aside from the fire rate, recoil, reload, and impact of your weapons as far as I can tell.

Yeah, I suck. There's no question about that. It's very frustrating is all. I keep coming across guys with shields or other weapons that are killing me with 1 or 2 shots. My guns aren't doing shit.

Is it worth changing warlock's subclass? i changed for a while, but the supercharge move.. seems to do nothing?

`Sunsinger is a sick class imo. It increases all of your abilities. You're able to take more damage, your cool-downs on and grenades are near instant and plus your movement speed is increased as well. With it activated you can throw about 3 or 4 grenades.

Yep, Bungie are definitely going to be supporting this game heavily. I assume The Queens Wrath is story content they're dishing out for free.

You've got a shield too. Oh and try the hand cannons and shotguns if you're getting taken out fast, it's probably what they're using on you. They hit hard as hell.

Are the limited edition extras worth it in comparison with the digital guardian edition? Specifically the case, star chart and arms field guide?

I prefer the non-digital version since I can loan it to my brother when he eventually gets a PS4 and the steelbook looks cool, but it's out of stock everywhere I've checked. I'm trying to decide if it's worth waiting for it to be restocked or if I should just go ahead and pick up the digital version and then repurchase the complete game on disk in two years when they package in all the DLC.

Had a good run in the strike playlist. Got to lvl 24 and New Monarchy to rank 1. Also unlocked Nightfall Strike.

"The most ferocious armies of the Darkness guard the greatest treasures in the Solar System. Your only hope of survival is to build a team of 3 players with steady nerves and supernatural aim."

No, it's the raid. And all of this stuff is just stuff they had done before the game came out but are mostly releasing for limited time events.

1) Staring at a giant gun model, at the cost of seeing what's going on in front of me, is something I strongly dislike. Halo had what I called "combat clarity", where being able to see action and receive visual feedback clearly was a key design philosophy. This informed many aspects of that series, from scoping to grass height to weapon effects and damage indicators (no raspberry jam). For half the kills in Destiny I'm looking for numbers to pop up to confirm them because the gun model hinders the visual feedback. I think it's genuinely bad game design.

2) I like fluid game play. Having to choose between movement and accuracy is just awful, IMO. It's really jarring in Destiny going from nice, floaty movement, big double jumps, sprinting along...and then you turn into a nearly stationary turret for the privilege of aiming straight when an enemy appears. It also greatly limits how dynamic the encounters can be (can't dodge and return fire at once, can't jump and shoot...) The gap between how fluid Halo's combat was compared to Destiny is enormous for this reason.

Destiny is one of the first games I've owned to use ADS. It's probably my single most hated gameplay mechanic in gaming right now, and what kept me from buying other shooters last gen. I really can't over state my dislike. That I find the game fun despite there being ADS is a borderline miracle. :p
Great post. Agree with everything. Destiny would feel so much better without ADS, or at least without those stupid accuracy penalties.

Run and gun >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Run or gun

That said, I have to admit ADS in Destiny doesn't feel as bad as in most games, for some reason.
