They work across both, which is a core pillar of the game. There still seems to be special weapons that you can win only in one mode or the other, but they are very effective across all modes.

Ohh yeah.
That's how I would describe every bungie game to someone. It amazes me they still stumble so much with compelling storytelling when they can nail so many other areas.
I totally agree with the 'game feels too sterile' comments I've been reading all over. And having never played an MMO before, the whole vanguard, crucible, motes of light, spinmetal, glimmer, blah de blah de blah just seems so needlessly confusing. I don't care to learn the economy.
I think you literally have to get them in a row.

Every time I find a rare primary weapon engram I'm momentarily excited then disappointed because I know it won't be a hand cannon. Not even once.

So, do level and gear differences really matter in PvP? I'm getting my face handed to me by guys way higher level than me, and I'm just wondering if it's because I suck at PvP or if their superior weapons are what's causing this devastation.

A friend and I both got it at midnight and we play together every night and we're doing our first raid together tonight. (I already played one tuesday though)
Some people just dont have the time :/ idk if we'll be able to do the raid

Yeah, it's a trophy based entirely on luck, much like the trophies for not having any of your fireteam die in a Strike and Raid. I hate trophies like that.

Another thing that shouldnt be possible, getting NO reward in an high level strike -.- I just carried a team against sepiks prime strike and got 100+ kills while the other two got 30's amounts of kills. I made so many crazy clutch revives & everything then the game ends & they both get 3 strange coins each while i get absolutely nothing as a reward.
In a heroic grade strike you should at least get SOME kind of reward. you cant just say thanks for spending 30+ minutes on ONE boss fight heres nothing -.-
This plus having a chance to get rare gear from other classes really makes no sense. How are such staple rules not applied in this game ?
Another funny flaw with this ame is how you can get uncommon or rare gear from a purple engram? That makes no sense at all. whats the point of making the purple engram so rare if it has a good chance of devolving to a rare or uncommon? u may as well just make ALL the engrams the same color with that logic -_-

I'll try to post a video of when I earned it, but it turns out doesn't need to be all at once, just all in close succession. I got all three within 5-10 seconds using the hunter's gunslinger.
Have you already done that strike this week before? Because you can only get coins once for each difficulty setting.

They're probably just more experienced than you are. Since they probably have rare gear that's two mods on the weapon compared to your one (assuming you're using an uncommon). Still they shouldn't be hitting you harder or anything.
Using the bubble shield in pvp is so much fun. I just pop it at a capture point and people run in thinking they can melee me to death. Apparently they forget I get a bonus shield in there and I just punch everyone to death. And then once I punch them to death I get another bonus shield that procs with my melee haha.
Maybe she just has an unstable connection to your region. I noticed that I usually end up with quite a few Germans or at least Europeans when I'm in the tower so there seems to be some kind of regional matchmaking at work but this is ignored if you join a friend who is playing on different servers I guess.
Have you tried joining her game? Does it make any difference?
I lucked out with a Nova Bomb on a point that happened to have 1 of each class trying to cap it XD

. I really wish it was easier to team up with people. I put my fireteam settings to open yesterday, and some random person joined me, and we did a bunch of missions on the moon. It was a ton of fun, but after that person left it was pretty much impossible to find someone else to play with. I'm still enjoying the game, but I wish the social aspects were more fleshed out.
Venus as an Awoken, and all parties just ignore that I am an awoken. Felt really strange

Say what you will about borderlands, the npcs had character. Even in borderlands 2 the useless non-merchant/quest-giver npcs at least had some fun lines of dialogue.
