I did that in the beta. You can also get in the tree and jump onto that tall structure from the tree

I was guilty of that today. I leveled almost solely in the Crucible and am way behind on story. I was doing the second or third Moon mission as a level 21+. And I encountered a few randoms running the same missions and basically vaporized all enemies by merely looking at them.
I suspect the other players thought I was screwing with them, but I REALLY have to get these story things done, lol.

It's not very well explained.
R3 when you see them, then "OPTIONS" and "invite to fireteam" or "join fireteam". Unfortunately, the default is that players have "public invites OK" disabled and it's not properly explained how you reverse this.
You can also just go to "roster" and see who else is in that "instance" and do the same thing. Again, not properly explained.

Vanguard strikes do have matchmaking. Also, it was a fucking joke.
Click the right stick to select him- hit options for a little menu. If his fireteam is Public, you can just join it. If it's not, you can invite him to yours.
Firesteam status resetting from Public to Friends Only on each boot is my #1 complaint about this game for the moment.

Thanks, appreciated. There's a lot of basic stuff I don't understand yet, and part of it is I'm not really putting in the time yet, and part is the game doesn't explain it well.
It occurs to me I don't even know how to do a strike if I wanted to. :lol (I don't, yet.)

Level 21 Titan. Just got my first legendary it from a blue engram, a Strange Suspect pulse rifle (I'd just switched to the weapon type too, it's one of my favourites so for incredibly lucky).
Up for all content. I'm pretty decent at pvp when I'm focused. Especially love Skirmish (hope they add this as a permanent mode).

RNG shouldn't be a factor with those kinds. I hate that it is considering how difficult it is to find legendary drops.

Takes 30 mins to kill the walker.

Couple notes on multiplayer:
1. Shotguns, ARs need to be nerved in there.
2. Crucible it seems gives you way more experience when upgrading your weapons than campaign does. I think this needs to be adjusted to make both modes more even.

Do bladedancer have an immunity shield when they do that shit? Launched a rocket at one and nothing happened.
Higher level loot yes, not necessarily better.
But as you progress through 18 to 24, you'll start getting higher level req/stat gear. The 24 Strike playlist generally gives you level 19/20 gear, so after doing it enough you'll have a full set of rare weapons at level 20, which will hold you over nicely until you find more legendaries.
Speaking of rares, be sure to look at the mods on them before you scrap them. I still use a level 12 blue AR in Crucible because it's a Shingen E (an already Stable AR) with a Stability mod and a Single Point Sling (faster movement/weapon switch). Combine with either a Shotgun or a Fusion Rifle I found that both have Single Point Sling as well and... yeah. Amazing in PvP.
