I didn't expect to see raider elitism so soon, the raid isn't even out yet. I'm actually sort of impressed.

OH MY GOSH THE HASSLE.
Isn't that how the clubbing scene works? Destiny is a real-life club simulation.

As opposed to
Menu, create party, name party <raid name>, wait till it's full
Come on son.
I'll say it again, if you can't arrange to get 5 other people together to play a few hours of Destiny, then you have social issues. It's not hard, at all.

It's logical to invite a person to a team before figuring out if or even can try run X content.
Isn't that how all online games work?
The raid situation is understandable. I gave up playing COD extinction mode due to people deliberately bailing, often because they wanted a "all optional objectives completed" achievement and so whenever an optional objective failed they'd bail. This would leave too few people, so the map would never be finished.
I ended up with a maxed out character yet never completed an entire map due to this, and stopped playing due to the aggravation.
So use your mighty social skills and get a group if you don't want to play matchmade/pick up group maps, but give people the option to play with randomsThen imagine the frustration of being matched up with people with zero teamwork, quitters, and AFK players.
NO THANK YOU.
Why is that necessary to fluff your lists for one game, especially if you want to keep your list more personal?
Try doing Endure on Halo ODST with randoms. Then maybe you'll understand.
And yeah, if you can't get 5 friends that play Destiny, either by meeting them online, or personally know them, to do a multi-hour long raid on an extremely high difficulty, then don't do the raid.
The Raid isn't going to be some social, easy-going matchmaking thing. Hell, even the Nightfall Strike is a pain in the ass without friends.

This is basic fucking functionality
Looking at this thread, a lot of people here DO have social issues.
I want people to imagine ODST having an Endure playlist for matchmaking.
And, Halo 3/Reach having a LASO playlist in matchmaking.
Now, imagine those modes are the ONLY way to get awesome Armor/Gear/Weapons.
Then imagine the frustration of being matched up with people with zero teamwork, quitters, and AFK players.
NO THANK YOU.
No. You guys didn't get the point yet lol.And you still don't get it
Warframe has a public chat to recuit people, Destiny doesn't

Dude seriously stop riding my jock. That isn't going to help any kind of discussion, dude.
No. You guys didn't get the point yet lol.
I prefer to have Matchmaking like Warframe... I said but Warframe didn't have Matchmaking to high-level events/missions.
Chat is a issue in Destiny that didn't have anything to do with what I was talking lol

The logic is to just have less people overall play the raid?
Matchmaking will not preclude people from forming their own groups.
And this design is the supposed saving grace of the game, that Bungie were trying to get reviewers to wait for...
There is no conversation since beginning... I was just pointing that Warframe didn't have matchmaking for all missions (it was bad example to support Raids needs to have matchmaking)... it is not like TLOU... it is like Destiny. If you can't fathom how they are related. There is no point in continuing the conversation with you.

Warframe not having matchmaking for high level events isn't an issue because of the public chat, you can just recruit people in-game.No. You guys didn't get the point yet lol.

Guy: Apples
Me: Apples
You: But orange
Me: wut?
Destiny
Game is fun only after 20 hours, but only after a week of release...
I never said it is a issue lolWarframe not having matchmaking for high level events isn't an issue because of the public chat.
Also Warframe is a F2P game made by some dev, Destiny is a $60 game made by guys who were thought to be among the top tier of the genre, I would expect more from it.
Yes all my posts.Maybe that's just Norns' M.O. From what I've seen, at least from this thread in particular, this generally seems to be the case with all of his posts.
Guess I need to level up my Social Links before I can do the Raid.![]()

Seriously? The general consensus is that the mechanics and gameplay is pretty fun. They just fucked up in obvious places, like social and story
Destiny
Game is fun only after 20 hours, but only after a week of release, when Raids* come out.
*requires 5 friends**
**social integration not included
People somehow are able to cue up for 10 person matches in mobas without too many issues. Mobas are an incredible time commitment and the vast majority of the time you have 10 people sticking with it the entire time. I don't see the difference here except that you are relying on less people dropping out.
The point is Warframe not having matchmaking is fair game because you have the tools to work around that in-game. Digital Extremes never went "Ok, no chat, go on the Steam forums and get some people to play with you"I never said it is a issue lol
Just to use Warframe example of matchmaking to support Raids matchmaking is wrong because the mission like Raid in Warframe didn't have matchmaking.,
Adding people in game is very easy. I have two dozen active players on my FL. Half of those are up for raiding on Tuesday.
The raid will take effort. Much more effort than finding 6 players will.
Should they add more social options? Absolutely. A party board where you could advertise looking for a raid group would be amazing for example.
Is it difficult to find players willing to try the content? Absolutely not.
