Personally, I'd be surprised if the EU compromised on the Euro. There's a lot of political will for the Euro to be adopted throughout the EU, and in it's continued existence/success. But that's up for the negotiations, of course.

Scotland would be legally "obliged" to join the Euro, but as Sweden has shown actually adopting the single currency isn't necessary. De Facto Scotland doesn't have to join the Euro.

Despite a few fuckwits that have bulldog tattoos, I would say that British nationalism is mostly left inside the stadium of an international football match.

I never mentioned the Empire. Do you not find it funny for British nationalists who proudly wave their miniature Union flags outside Buck Palace at the arrival of Will and Kate slamming Scottish nationalists for wanting their own nation? The British are some of the most fervent nationalists on the planet.

The point is irrelevant, Scotland wouldn't get within a hundred miles of the Euro, as it doesn't meet any of the financial criteria to even apply.

As we have seen with the rise of UKIP, morons who droll over the Mail, Express and Sun newspapers and whingers banging on about bloody immigrants this is clearly not true.

Do you work for the ECB? Lithuania is join in January, so obviously Scotland could join in a few years down the line after ridding itself of the insane effects of BOE and Treasury stupidity.

Has that been your experience? I mean, aside from our resident loon her DeFib? Have you experienced people "Slamming Scottish nationalists for wanting their own nation"? Because I haven't, and I live in the place with all the British nationalists.

Unfortunately the tattooed fraternity is on the rise, but add all of the population that vote for different parties or do not vote at all, and I assure you the numbers are rather insignificant
There is a big difference between being concerned about immigration when you live on an over populated island with a housing crisis and voting for a Nazi party.

Sweden is obliged to adopt the Euro, and meets all the criteria except membership in the ERM, which it refuses to join, following a referendum regarding adoption of the Euro. That's tolerated for the moment within the EU and the ECB, but I'd be surprised if iScotland could get out of joining the Euro, at least without some serious political costs. The EU saying to a new member state that you can join the EU without accepting the Euro would be quite shocking, and have repercussions for future enlargement.

Haha they can't ask for it back of course. What if you've spent it? They just take the hit. It's obviously not a big deal to them and they predict they'll make more on the publicity, doubly so if they're right and it's a no anyway.

It's not the first time that bookies have done this kind of thing - famously, BetFred has twice paid out early on Man United winning the Premier League before the final day, only to be forced to pay out yet again when a different team won the title instead.

Text doss not match the headline. It is a bunch of back bench Tories moaning. If all three parties agree on something then the whips have more than enough support to steam roll anything through.

It might be a desperate last minute concession they never wanted to give - but if Labour especially ever want another Scottish vote then they would have to deliver on any rash promises they have made.

Labour are going to cancel their party conference if there's a Yes vote apparently, to deal with the inevitable shitstorm and recall of parliament and no confidence votes etc.
 
These results are looking very comfortable for No, all things considered. It will be a massive fuck up by the pollsters if anything else happens on the day.

And I think it will - it'll never end up this close. People will be decisive, whichever way it swings.
 
Not exactly comfortable with that lead, but will take it over the alternative!

There's a 3% margin of error in any one individual poll anyway isn't there? So looking at any one poll is pretty pointless. You need to average out a whole bunch of polls.
 
The massive amount of 'Don't Knows' at this stage is ridiculous. I actually would prefer to think these are 'Shy No' voters rather than the alternative, a complete failure of the democratic process with people going into a ballot box not knowing what they're doing.
