All of it is currently light 18 (which is light 20 once upgraded).

No buying your way our after or does it get better as you level up?

Not as great as you'd hope. You have to charge nade 2 after nade 1 so at best you have one spare if you need it and at worst you use two in a row and have to wait twice as long to get 2 again. I'm sticking with burn on all grenades because I like me some DoTs.

I stick with the Sticky Grenades (lol). When I go Super, I can go on a killing spree that would make even a bladedancer jealous.

It's not a glitch, it's intended. In the world, if you're in the proximity of someone else killing a mob, it counts for you, XP and loot wise.

I got a Legendary Engram in the Divide due to this, almost walked away til I glanced back towards the rusting tanks.

Lets do a little experiment.

Post your level, your grimoire score, and how many legendary items and/or engrams you've gotten.

I have a feeling the higher the grimoire the more legendary drops you get.

I'm 1355, Level 24 and I've only ever gotten ONE legendary engram. Haven't seen anything purple before or after

Level 25 Titan.

I own 2 legendaries. A Chest I bought from Dead Orbit, and a Machine Gun (Void) I got as a gift from Rank 4 Cryptarch.

I've decoded 10 Purple Engrams.

-Blue Helmet
-Blue Chest
-Purple Warlock Boots
-2 Strange Coins
-2 Motes of Light
-Purple Warlock Boots again
-Blue Fusion Rifle
-Blue Helmet
-Blue Chest
-Purple Chest Piece with identical stats to my own, but different ammo upgrades.

I also just hit rank 3 with Dead Orbit, and they gave me the exact same Legendary machine gun I already had.


Meanwhile, 2 of my friends have gotten exotic bounties, and I'm the only one still level 25. They're all 26-27.

Grimoire rank is 1530. I've been playing about 4 hours on weekdays and 14-16 hours on weekends.

The Titans strike super is the hardest to counter because it has the faster deploy time.

You just round the corner and titan smash. Hopefully someone gets a shotgun or 2 in a matter of .1 seconds.

Defender, you just gotta wait for their shield to go away or have a super/heavy or something.

Blade dancer just requires some focus fire to take down. I've been taken down plenty of times despite zipping around.

Nova Bomb has a decently big warm up
Sunsinger requires a lot of focus fire to take down.

Golden gun has normal health, but carries an instadeath pistol.

Just thought I'd share but I just hit level 24 and was getting frustrated at not finding games with people in for the Weekly Strikes (Level 24, of course). After a while of searching and getting into single games I thought 'fuck it' and thought I'd just play the level until more people joined (It was the Sepkis Prime strike) and not only did I complete it solo but I didn't die a single time.

I know you guys have probably done shit like this all the time but I'm pretty proud of myself right now.

FYI there's no matchmaking for the weekly, that's why you were always solo. Nice job though.

The difference in perspective is fascinating and I thank you. I find leveling, gearing up, static progression, etc. many many times more clear and self-explanatory in Destiny than in the Souls games. I spent 3 hours before killing the Phalanx (rolled Thief first character) not understanding that I hadn't yet unlocked the "hub," and I was getting extremely frustrated with the game because I couldn't even make basic- let alone endgame- progress.

I had to go to people for help with that one, but in this game I'm often on the answering end. No one explained to me what to do- I figured it out this time, and have been able to help others. It's really interesting.

wow, completely flip-flopped experiences! makes it a bit more understandable how stuff can get by testing. DS clicked with me and while the game was challenging I always felt dying was ultimately my fault. If i struggled with a section too much I'd replay a section for some souls and try again. Usually I was just more careful and deliberate about approaching bosses and enemies. i had gear to do the job from just playing other than needing arrows or consumables.

i think if you sit and look at the reputation and marks and such it's fairly clear, my issue was that up until level 24 i didn't really care because I didn't need to. i figured my best route to getting legendaries was drops but became frustrated when they turned into greens and blues. i knew the vendors were there but figured I just had shit luck and would keep doing what I was doing. 10 purple drops that turned to crap and I finally decided to try other options.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but the reason strikes don't seem to be dropping much gear is the advisories on Bnet are the way to open them up. I have one sitting there right now where I need to beat 5 more strikes (50 total) and then cloaks, marks and bonds will start dropping too. Perhaps once you hit 75 or 100 it makes legendary or exotic gear available as end of round drops too?

Seems like another thing that should just be in a menu in game so that people can actually see it without signing up on some website.

The Weekly Heroic and Nightfall strikes do not have matchmaking nor does the raid. You have to form the party yourself.

But they're not mutually exclusive-- you could be earning rep and credits AND finding shit. And no, you're not entitled to it just because you invested a ton of time. Sorry, but RNG doesn't care. Someone spending a thousand dollars on the lottery is no more entitled to winning it than someone who spent a dollar. Yes, this thread has a lot of complaints about it but the people who find stuff (and there's a lot of those posts too) aren't going to pop on and complain about it.

Shores of Time is easily my favorite right now. I despise Bastion, but am learning to deal with it. I pretty much just bike over to B or A and wander around there, now. Screw the rest of the map.

While I'm not saying it's a great map by any means, by the end of Beta I was learning to appreciate First Light. Even with two Interceptors. By the end of Beta, people were actually learning to deal with them.

So First Light is still okay.
