Nvidia GTX 980/970 3DMark Scores Leaked- from Videocardz.com

So everything has pretty much leaked at this point ?

Even at $349 seems like a good deal. The wide price gap between the 970 and 980 looks to give OEMs some margin to offer their own overclocked variants.

So I guess that $519 price was photoshopped? (or is that going to be the AUS price maybe?)

I wonder what does it mean with "Consumer variants" and the double price on the 970.

No, actual performance revies have not leaked. Those are typically the most important things.

Only read PCPer, Guru3D, and TechReport.

Probably too late to be able to offload it at pre-980 prices, with NDA a day away.

I never ever ever ever ever ever offer advice like that without reviews and data. And unfortunately NVIDIA doesn't recognize PC-GAF as a legitimate review source, so neither Haz nor I have access to hardware. :P

I'm sure it would be the best damn review source on the web if they did. :)

Meh, whatever, I'll hold out until 20nm or an AMD response or something I suppose... but how bad of a value plummet do you think, just a broad guess, I'm looking at here?

980 will only launch with reference cooler I believe. 970 will have non-reference too, so that might be accounting for the more expensive models (but it seems like a very small price bump really).

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Some people run sli at 1080p so they turn all the extra bells and whistles up to high or very high (aa,af,shadows, etc) and want to run at 120hz.

When I had sli 770s I could run Assassins Creed IV with everything cranked up at 1080p smooth as butter. Got rid of them and got a single 780ti and had to turn some stuff down to keep it at a steady 60.

That's because AV IV is a mess.

No Anandtech?
Nope. Their PC hardware review quality has gone down the shitter. Direct responses from a few of their writers were (accurately without inserting my own distaste paraphrasing), "It would take too much effort to do it accurately", despite the aforementioned websites doing so with every review.

They're good for news and editorials, just not actual hardware reviews.
Those, and also read Computerbase if you can read German.
Yeah, that too.

Google translate helps get you through most of it, charts are understood easily enough as well.

LOL really? Ubi can't port a game to save there lives.

It has plenty of options, including high-end ones, good AA modes, and performance is excellent on my system. It looks really good as well.
The only oversight is native triple buffering.

Fantastic PC work aside from that.

That said. Looking at the specs. What on earth would justify the $200 price difference between the 970 and 980?

Hum well, ROP count = TBC, if it's lower on the 970 that could potentially impact performance where high resolutions and AA is concerned. I hope they don't gimp it in some way, will be a great value if we get the same specs as 980 apart from lower shader count and clockspeed.

Thank you, it's been a while since I had to look up articles and benchmarks.

Like I said, I've been out of the loop for a while. Is PCGH still any good?

You can never have too much cooling.

Somebody buy my Titan Blacks
Smokey pls
PCGH is second best in terms of German reviews in my opinion.

But really, you usually only need Computerbase.
Checking out the variety of top notch review sites does give the added benefit of finding those curveball titles to make sure everything is behaving properly outside of the typical 5-8 games used in every review.

I think I'm just going to sit on 780 OC till the full Maxwell comes out. The price they want for these is insane and my 780 is doing just fine.

I really have no issues running games with my 680 but I still want to upgrade if the performance gains over my card are worth it.

How much faster (%) are we expecting the GTX 980 ($549) to be, compared to the GTX 780Ti ($699)?

If the leaks are true it should be 10% and 57% if you look for Performance per Watt.
Nice to have a gen thats reduces TDP by alot after all these years.

I have a 560TI, i think the tdp for it is 170W. I could put in a 980 now and only have 5W more :lol

The only thing I like is the lower TDP, but that's more a nice thing to have then a I need to upgrade kinda thing. I haven't even had this card a year yet, and my GF would likely kill me if I bought another one anyway lol.

Well... yeah, the 980 is the mid-range chip... the successor to the 560Ti.

Can't decide yet if time to upgrade from 670 OC

On one hand vram, decent 1440p framerates, Witcher 3. On the other 28nm, probably close to £400.

Lots of random info leaks, folks in the industry have been saying the NDA/announcement happens when the GAME 24 event go live.

Given the mass number of actual product pictures, it's looking like a hard release, and not a paper launch. So, they'll probably be for sale when NDA goes up.

so just speculation and picking a random rumor out of all the contradicting ones for prices then

Anyhow I hope the 299 for reference and 329/349 for custom cooler rumor one is true.
And if it is : suck it all, I told you it's a midrange chip and they can sell it for 300 if they wanted to.
