But doesn't the E3 2013 trailer imply that Noctis & Stella are childhood friends? Maybe Noctis simply didn't recognize her if they haven't seen each other since childhood.

That's so dumb. Blonde, white dress, purple eyes. Hmm...yeah I definitely don't know her.

They probably went back to the drawing board. I hope at least. Seems like Noctis knows who she is anyway.

I hope this game gets a documentary someday lol. Such craziness. I've loved Tabata for a long time and he seems really determined to prove himself. Hope he can deliver.

Trailer was pretty damn amazing, no matter how good a game looks just nothing seems to look as good as a new mainline FF huh? If both Zelda and this play the way they are made out to look without a massive amount of QTE's then I would be really happy with where the industry is headed.

This will be my reason for getting a PS4 so lets hope its no more than another year out.

To be fair we went from "meet a dinner" to "can't get over a childhood love" to "your gf at the start of the game" so I don't know what the hell is going on anymore.

It's been so long...

The plot will have changed because the games design will have changed.

And I definitely think they'll loosen up on the FNC lore stuff. Like, I expect Etro to be referred to as a goddess and nothing more.

FNC lore has always been interesting. So yeah, as long as it's not in your face I'm content.

Can't unsee floaty car.

They should have made cars float anyway. Eliminates the need to make it look like it needs to be interacting with the ground. Solves questions the likes of "why can the car get through all these rough terrain?".

I can already foresee the car being a road block plot device already. Story quest involving having to repair it to get to the next map. Or bring back the jagd of XII. "Cars can't be driven over these lands because of X number of reasons!"

that was ... all I wanted from FF.

loving the Xenoblade vibes
the setting
the music!

The only thing I am still not entirely convinced by is the combat, but I am sure I'll get used to it and enjoy it.

Versus (and Last Guardan lol) was the reason I bought a PS3.
XV will be the reason I buy a PS4.

The combat is basically Kingdom Hearts x Dark Souls. So somewhat more flashy & with some aerial combat like KH, but with weight behind every move that is perhaps a bit more like a weighty action RPG like Dark Souls. It can look a bit janky but I hope that it makes for a combat system where you can't just smash the attack button/command like in Kingdom Hearts games and have to time your attacks a bit more like in a Dark Souls game.

I wouldn't go that far as to compare it to Souls but it seems to be less mashy by virtue of having a variety of weapons. The first combat sequence still looked like basic Kingdom Hearts fare when he switches to the second weapon. Still, at least the party system seems to be rather sophisticated if this is representative of standard gameplay. The other member's movement and actions look beyond anything I've seen in terms of uncontrollable characters. I just want to know how much we can actually influence them before or during combat.

This is a fan analysis and going by some older material but I still found it a very engaging 12 minutes.

Thanks, will have to watch this later though.

Well I haven't said this about anything Final Fantasy related in a long time, but that actually looks good. I am honestly a little confused right now.

The character designs are so bad, I just can't get excited for a game with such a weird-looking characters. It's like N-Sync x The Matrix, just horrid.

I guess we will have to wait another generation for an FF like X/XII.

FFX male character designs look the same other than the guys wear suits\ casual clothes.

If Noctis and Stelluna are lovers I don't care.

FF has always done romance in a light hearted, likeable way.

Even snow and serah,a really obnoxious couple imo, had a nice fireworks scene together.

People don't realize that inside S-E he is one of the few devs that actually manages to develop and release his games in a timely manner. T.Nomura's depature shows how many troubles run inside this company and Toriyama's not at the core of the problem.

That said I'm sad because I really fear Nomura is next leaving :(

Isnt that only because he was able to completely reuse assets through 3 games in a row, and only had a small budget anyway?

I'm sure he has talent...in areas. But stay away from writing or creating scenarios, jesus.

I am remember back in 2006 I found the hair design really cool....8 years later I think it looks stupid. Game looks beautiful either way, hope it delivers

The clip with Noctis running with Stella pulling him forwards looked like Noctis was about 5-6 years old, so it wouldn't really be surprising if he didn't know her almost 15 years later when both are adults.

it's ok amnesia explains everything

Same for me. Plus, this combined with the gameplay not being turn based anymore, it doesn't feel Final Fantasy to me at all. The graphics are good, but not incredible like some make them out to be imo. The characters, setting and more action based gameplay really turn me off and this is coming from someone who has played and enjoyed almost every main instalment of the series.

The XIII trailers excited me more than this. Hell, playing XIII excited me more than the trailers for XV so far.

There is literally no one else in that world who looks like her. She's deliberately designed to be distinctive.

Video looks great, but why are the dudes in the car all wearing the same outfit? Are they all wearing black to be edgy or are they in a motorcycle gang?

Well, I said Kingdom Hearts x Dark Souls, not that it's exactly like Dark Souls. Just that it's basically something in between Kingdom Hearts' faster-paced super-flashy combat and Dark Souls' more weighty stuff. There's obviously a lot more weight to Noctis' movements & attacks (especially when using heavier swords) than pretty much anything in any KH, but there's some more KH-like stuff in the combat as well (jumping higher in the air and the zero-shift stuff).

Come on man, you can't identify with those "designs"? What's wrong with you?
Those guys look too 'popular' and 'edgy' to me in a realistic, serious way and they all look the same. Final Fantasy wasn't about that and usually had a very varied cast of characters. At least my favorite entries did.

So, I'm gonna be playing a "bored royalty" teenager who goes on a trip with his "male hosuto" buddies to find his "girl" that is from what I'm guessing is an opposing royalty faction? Modern day Romeo and Juliet.. Sweet.. I get to play as Leonardo DiCaprio..

The game definitely feels like east meets west ,and the ambitious scope seems to be intact.

Shame Nomura left,however.

There's a good reason for that. SE has been heavily recruiting western talent in theirTokyo studios for over a year now. They've got a size able population of western Devs now including people who previously worked for Naughty Dog and Bungie. Many hardly speak any Japanese and, if it's anything like the situation at From Software, they've probably hired people to serve as intermediaries and translators between the Japanese teams and the western teams. They're making a concerted effort to follow through with their goals of truly international development. Should be interesting to see the fruit such a pursuit bears.

Thats what they want us to think. Remember this is a Nomura story and they are never straightforward.
