Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment update is up!
OMG they upped the inventory limit! The actual one is a real pain for me.
I am not only talking about realistic vs anime aesthetics, I wouldn't call the design of bioshock infinite, dishonored or even the later final fantasy games anime or realistic, but rather something in between.
I think that for me the problem with VK3 is that the unique featues or systems that you are talking about are well hidden or invisible if I watch a trailer or a preview of the game. In other games with interesting systems, like resonance of fate or the most recent game with some different systems, natural doctrine, I understand that they are different simply by watching a trailer of the game.
Your dedication to VK3 have peaked my interest for the game though, do you know of any video or lets play of the game that highlights the features that youare talking about?
I also have to say that the indoor environments in the game looks pretty good, but that most screens that I've seen before have been from the outdoors parts of the world (and it is hideous IMO).
How is the story and the characters in the game btw?
ps. I really like when ppl stand up for what they like and makes me question my own thoughts regarding a game.
Honestly i'm not trying to sell the game to you or any other, because imo very few people would be able to go through its faults and see the (many)good things it has, i'm just trying to make people understand that the game is not as bad as they think(without even trying it).
You see mostly the same outdoor environments because:
1)at the beginning most of the unlocked locations are outdoor
2)all the videos show only the first hours of the game(and even reviews clearly didn't bother to go on, some of them don't even know what they are talking about)
The same applies to game features.
New locations unlock after many hours, to see class switch effects you need first to level up a class a bit obtaining some of its abilities and only then to change with another class, and so on, all things that require time.
The only article written by someone who seems to have really played the game was from Kotaku, but the fanservice was the argument, not the game, this is the only bit about the game itself:
"What is Valhalla Knights 3?"you ask. Valhalla Knights 3 is an RPG for the PS Vita. The basic gameplay is very much similar to an MMORPG, except without the Massively Multiplayer Online part. You have a central base of operations in a large map sparsely filled with enemies. At your base – or in the case of Valhalla Knights 3, prison – you buy and sell equipment and loot, manage your party, and get quests to gather X number of item Y from enemy type Z for varying rewards. Altogether, it's a very standard RPG.P
It's similar to an MMO in that the plot is very flimsy and comes second to the level grinding. You have a number of different character classes you can switch your characters between, each with their own set level. The combat, while there is a bit of a learning curve, is little more than rhythmically pushing the attack button to execute combos and pray you haven't misjudged the enemy's strength.
If it all sounds boring, it probably is, except the game does a superb job of rewarding the player just enough to get them to keep playing. The leveling system is highly addictive and is probably why I've been grinding away for over ninety hours.

Locations are mostly 50% outdoor 50% indoor(caves count as indoor right?).
VK3 is not a looker but Vita got worse looking games that graphics-wise were not as destroyed as Vk3, as i have already said VK3 is an easy target for the ignorant hate.
