I'm loving this SAO:HF update. It really helps the game play better.
I want both but am definitely picking up Frozen Synapse. I played the original version on PC and loved it. It's basically a turn/phase based combat simulator. Each turn you move all your characters, controlling their exact path, their exact facing, etc. and can then test it till you have it exactly to your liking before committing. Tons of tactics, as you need to learn how to advance fire teams through doors, buildings, around corners, etc. with different weapons and against different enemies.
For the guy worried it's an MP game - it's single player on PC was great, I never played it MP. Though it sounds like they created a robust 'take your turn whenever' MP system, where you can have multiple games going and will get notified whenever it's your turn, like if you were playing chess online. Sounds great.
.
I really wanted the game. But that price tag, and no PS+ discount![]()
I just spent a whole hour doing nothing but attempting to perfect level 50 in Velocity 2X. So much failure, but oh man that feeling when I finally did it. Can't get the smile off my face right now. I can now go to bed happy.
Its not tho.
Edit: I am still missing a good online multiplayer bomberman clone for my vita :/
Seems like Bombing Bastards is coming to Vita too(Add it to the list Fady man!)

Is 20 the lowest price p4g usually hits?
I have asked several developers that have created and released couch-coop/competitive games on other playstation platforms if they are planning to port them to the vita and all of them have said that game x is supposed to be played with a friend locally.
Is it really that hard to make an online mode for something like tower fall or sportsfriends?
It's been $20 on US PSN every 2 weeks yeah.
Be forwarned that it is 3ish GB.
I think it was $15 once or twice beforeI'm still rocking a low GB card here, the 8 that came with the bundle (better than the 4 with my OLED Vita before I sold it) but yeah.
So either get it now...or later...at 20, or try to wait out a mega holiday sale for what, 15? No way it goes to 10 any time soon, maybe the launch of 5 or something.
any of these worth buying?

Alright already! frozen synapse will be mine. I can respect the fact that they put a ton of time into bringing this over to my beloved vita. And it's a strategy game, a genre that is sorely lacking titles on the vita. They should have included the expansion, but whatever. The multiplayer is what's going to really let this thing shine (unless this is your first time playing, I really enjoyed the campaign during my original play through). Now, as for defense grid, what do you guys think?
This needs an answer. It looks a lot like my dear old Savage Moon, but on some sort of metal future tech base. I don't recall Savage Moon going for $25... so I'd want to know if this is good good or just eh good.
Is frozen synapse difficulty somewhat accessible?
It looks really cool but I'm afraid i might be overwhelmed
I finally realize why people say HDN Rebirth is a tad grindy. God, some items just won't appear.

I can't figure out if the $99, basic Playstation TV comes with an HDMI cable or not.

Not related to this actual quote, but I've played a ton of Ar Tonelico 1 (about 4 hours in now?) since yesterday and I know you said you don't know how well it holds up, but I think both the gameplay and the art style hold up incredibly well, I am thoroughly enjoying it. I actually think the battle system has enough depth to be fun even with today's standards, and man the sprites are really beautifully drawn and seem very timeless, especially with all the Pixel style indies out today. And my god, the sound in this game is fantastic. I left the main intro theme on while doing the dishes because I liked it so much. Definitely interested in continuing to noSurge after.
So I picked up frozen synapse. Damn, they did a great job with it. The touch screen controls are excellent, I don't even need to use joysticks. Zoom in and out, drag the screen, and selecting units is a breeze with touch.
I don't see and AI adjustment, so I think this is on middle of the road difficulty. I don't remember if you had difficulty sliders in campaign for pc. Very accessible to first timers, and really a great prep if you plan on taking your skills online.
The music still rocks, apropos for the setting and missions. I'm thinking they'll release the expansion in the future too, but you will definitely get value here even without it.
I'm probably still getting it eventually but I wish the visuals hadn't received such a downgrade. The original artstyle was so great.
I'm glad you like it. Back in the day it's really hard to sell this game to people since everyone looked down on 2D sprite and went nut over FFX. It saddened me that the first thing people criticized the game was its graphic. Being in the heavy size of fanservice sure doesn't help either. People just wouldn't believe I loved this game isn't just for its fanservice.
They released a lot of concert CD and OVA's OST. There is a compilation list on youtube. If you have time, I recommend listen to them, since they are wonderful. This is one of the games that isn't much popular but managed to get themselves a OVA release and several concerts. That says something about the game's music.

Once they revealed the new look and I saw they were going for the look of that other game by the Frozen Synapse guys (the futuristic football strategy game, whatever it was called), I had mixed feelings... I don't think I'd call it a downgrade though. It's definitely got more going on visually than the original ever had.
I'd have liked some kind of primary color hologram stuff going on with it. Something that overlayed onto the existing look to give it that same tactical blueprint feel, but it's not a vague abstraction like it used to be.

Eh, it's like Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate, more technically impressive and more "next gen" (in the most predictable and insufferably lame way), but inferior in realizing the initial and superior art style.

Sega please bring this to NA!!!
I don't think Frozen Synapse ever looked good or that Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate looks bad (even though I prefer the originals too), so I don't think I agree with that comparison.

Honestly, the original art style even facilitates gameplay much more.
