What is Google's return policy like? I think I'll order one, but I still have no idea if this device will be too big for me

currently have a really old 4" windows phone...

If purchased on the Play Store you have 14 days. Otherwise whatever the retailer's policy is. T-Mobile told me I could return my Nexus 5 within something like 60 days but there would be a $50 restocking fee - which seemed high seeing as I only paid $350 for it (15%), but whatever. I love it so I'm sticking with it until it dies.

And your username! :p

Seriously though, this is going to plateau soon enough. Same as happened when phones went the other way.

Is the nexus 4 getting the L update? I'm not sure me or my jeans are ready to join team giant phone, so I might stick with the 4 if so. I'm tempted by the 5 but is the camera quality a deal breaker?

We are not sure yet but we have seen bug trackers for people at Google testing L on the N4. It is more than capable of running it, I've had a ported build on mine for months which runs better than the official preview on my N7!

I was totally ready to upgrade to this from my N4 but I think it's just too damn big. My only hope at this point is there is a spec refresh for the N5, or they continue to sell it.

It cannot believe the new Nexus is a phablet. I'm really disappointed.

Genuine question: Why's it so difficult to flash a gpe ROM to a touchwizzed s5 or sensed m8?

It's not difficult, I've done it before - on my HTC One M7, I get the updates officially, over the air same time as the other GPE phones. But I'm not doing it again. If it develops a hardware fault, the amount of trouble you need to go for and potentially not even being able to get it back to a state (as it requires you to do S-OFF/S-ON) and relock it, to get the manufacturer to accept it is not worth it.

My HTC One M7 developed the infamous purple tint in the camera, so I've had to put up with it because of the things i've done to the software make it hard to send it in for a warranty repair.

Hopefully this means they'll have crazy Nexus 5 sales to clear stock, like they did last year with the Nexus 4.

They don't get it. They just don't get it. While a Moto X may be 'close enough' to stock Google for some, it just isn't stock. It's not. No matter how much they talk about how useful active notifications or always on voice commands are. They are not stock features. Period.

haha, well, its probably because I'm stuck on Verizon that the features being corralled into a stand-alone app make it effectively stock Google for me. If I didn't/don't like the features it adds I can just disable it and hide the app - like I would have to for any piece of Verizon bloatware - making it indistinguishable from stock android on the surface.

Nice! Guess I'll wait it out and see what gets announced. Won't be long now I guess.

To Nexus 4 owners, how's your battery life compared to the day you got it? I always find Nexus phones to have average battery life at best.

Depending on storage configuration and specs on Nexus 6, I might want to ditch my Oneplus One. Only if Google Play Store don't store tax.

Mines pretty poor, wouldn't say the batterys degraded over the time I've had it though. Have messed around with different kernels which admittedly do give you more battery life but imo its not worth it for all the bugs/crappy performance that they bring.
The biggest killer for me is it takes so long to charge, I use my n4 for navigation so have it plugged into my cars cigarette lighter and it drains more power than the charger can supply!

You can use yours for navigation? Mine overheats and plays dead.

Hopefully that 13MP with OIS doesn't follow the trend of shitty cameras on Nexus devices. Any word on battery life?

They should really drop the whole spec race thing and focus on their camera/battery to make it a true beast.

It will based on what we hear use the same camera as the 2014 Moto X which is not really that good.

Maybe they'll pull an Apple and do two models? 5.9" and 5.2"?

Honestly, I'm just hoping for a 64GB option. I got the 2014 Moto X, but I'm thinking of returning it due to a lack of storage.

Has been degrading for the past year, and the USB port started to fail earlier in the year. I decided to buy the QI charger and keep the phone always at the charging base while at work, and this actually managed to get me though the whole day without issues.

I would also like to try it in my hands before buying. I have a M7 GPE (converted into one myself) and I can't decide whether to get the Nexus 6 or Nexus 9. My 2012 Nexus 7 broke last year and I have not replaced it yet.

I'm waiting for that...might happen before the 6 announcement. Hoping for sub £200 but considering it is £300 right now that might be asking a bit much.

I waited for the nexus 6 to be announces before ordering the new Xperia Z3. But 5,9" is just ludicrous, so I am sticking to my plan and order the xperia(although 5,2" is also a tad too big)

Depressing news. Nexus 5 size is already pushing it. Noe what the hell am I going to buy? The idea of not having vanilla android out of the box, custom roms *shudders*

I'm on the fence. On the one hand, I still don't own a tablet, so 6 inches might be enough to handle anything I'd want in a tablet for the most part. On the other hand, it's hard enough to fit all my electronics in my pockets as it is (3DS, phone, and backup battery). I'd have to see one in person to really judge, but I don't know if they're even available in stores.

I'm in a "it all depends on the price point" state now.

would the larger screen size make it more optimal for VR at all? I know the resolution would but maybe that's a motivation for the new screen size.
