Please this. I didn't get any armour when I did the raid, and if that happens again I'm going to cry :(

I would say each time you beat the raid, you get a form of currency specific to the raid (i.e. a raid "coin").

Normal completion: 1 raid coin
Hard completion: 2 raid coins

The Ghost of Kabr shows up randomly in the tower and sells:

Helmet: 5 raid coins
Gauntlets: 3 raid coins
Chest: 4 raid coins
Boots: 3 raid coins

Something along those lines. So you HAVE to beat the raid to even have a chance at buying it, but each run gives you SOME progress towards buying raid gear if you don't get it in a drop.

Have him sell raid specific legendary weapons as well.

That'd be so simple and efficient. Excellent for people like me that aren't getting squat from the raid.

Are there varying degrees of quality amongst level 20 purples?

I don't mean via stat preference. I mean does a raid legendary differ in light level, and overall quality, than say, a Queen's legendary?

Was showing it to a co-worker on the app and he pointed out no elemental

What about primary weapons, do they have elemental damage? Haven't seen any?
Yes, raid weapons. I have an AR that does void damage and a scout that does solar. Both from the raid and both legendary primary weapons.

An idea for hard mode raiders who are in full level 29 groups:

For the gatekeeper portion, why not have two people go in one of the portals and get the relic. They both come out. The relic holder goes to the conflux with one person while two others stay to keep the second portal open. The remaining two go into the second portal to get that relic, and the fireteam proceeds to finish this phase.

How does this sound?

the strat i was suggesting last night was for 2 sunsingers to go in, get the gatekeeper almost dead, then come out and kill the second gatekeeper this time. they'd then grab that relic and hurry back, but they'd stay back in the middle. then a hunter with camo will run into the first portal, kill the gatekeeper and grab the relic. that way you have 5 guys including the shield to help the defense deal with adds.

it's probably riskier on hard, but i've done it before on normal without being spotted by the enemies. if they're crowding the portal it's slowing down the relic guys having to deal with them, while the defense gets swarmed by minotaurs and hobgoblins. 10 seconds of camo can get you to the gatekeeper platform undetected.

I think it goes from worst to best

Queens purps
All others not mentioned
Raid purps.

Yup.

I have absolutely no problems passing on what Xur is selling tomorrow. I'll sit on my coins.
Yep, I passed on the suros which was incredibly hard to do. Sitting on 35 coins and 58 motes. Waiting on the ice breaker. That's it. Not spending any of it until Xur brings it, or at least, I will always keep 23 coins minimum for it.

If I can pass on the suros, I can pass on anything except the ice breaker.

Nah queen gear can be just as good or better depending on the bonus modifiers. I have a queen helm that's better for me than any of the various helms the faction merchants sell.

I'd be much more motivated to do the raid if I knew I could purchase the gear somehow in the (high) chance that I don't get any raid gear on my runs.

The chance of not getting any raid gear is honestly putting me off a lot more than it should right now since I feel I'd rather spend the time working on alts or other goals like rep packages and marks for purchasing.

Raid gear has higher defense and light. That allows you to get to 30.

Yup.

I haven't bought anything from him yet. I am expecting something amazing in the future that will require a lot of coins lol.

YES. Raid gear caps at 30 light, same as exotic. Normal legendary caps at 27?

Should have higher def maxed out too.

You'd think those awesome elemental raid weapons would all be exotic and not legendary seeing as just how many of the exotics are way worse than them. Go figure.

what, you mean you dont want 10 ass energies?

My quest for exotic. First the game tells me to win 5 strikes without dying. Took me 3 hrs of ridiculous repetition but I got it done. Was expecting a reward only to be told to get a kill/death ratio of 25 in Crucible.

Bungie, are you mad?
It's not as daunting as it seems. I'm pretty bad in PvP, but you can get it done in just a few games if you at the very least have a bunch of assists. If you're going in solo, just pick a Guardian and follow them around, watching their back. You'll get it in no time, trust me.

Even then you're not done. You have to buy 50 Special Ammo packs in exchange for the gun, so you have to get some serious glimmer fast. Hope you have a lot of consumables that augment enemy kills.

There's a reason why all MMOs are like this nowadays, Bungie.

Sunslingers.

I did. Many, in fact.

My Queen's chest piece is fully upgraded.

God damn it.

That is why its good to read the forums every now and again.

It might not be an issue if you are like me though. I have more than enough shards to get me to 30, but I can't get the raid gear to drop.

Looking for PS4 players to go into the VoG for the first time with me.
Experienced players are also welcome, if you feel like guiding us through it.

I'm a level 28 warlock. PSN: PewPewPewBow

I played it about 4 times with all newbs and we sucked but I wanna get as much time in there as possible. PSN: ryuken-d lvl27 hunter

Got a Clutch medal last night in PvP. Was pretty cool. Thought we were losing then it comes up and says we won and we won by 5 points. Clutch medal is "Win a match after trailing with 2 seconds remaining.

Also curious that I don't have any "Narrow Escape" medals, which is "Kill an enemy that nearly killed you". That must have happened a thousand times by now to me. Has anyone gotten that medal or is it bugged?

You mean like how MMOs work? I wish Bungie went this route or similar. Using RNG on a strict loot table is terrible.

I'm under the impression that bungie didn't do as much research into MMOs as they should have. Kind of like they mixed a couple of the elements in at a bare minimum.

Has anyone encountered healing enemies? I was doing Nightfall yesterday, used an arc grenade on a yellow bar enemy knocked him down to about 15% health and then it boosted back up to 65% as he was flinching from attack. WTF.

Yeah, it makes them so much better b/c they don't take up an exotic slot. It's like there should be a new class beyond exotic for these weapons. But the threshold is having to play the raid, so I think it works as is. But you're right, they're better than a lot of exotics. Crazy upgrade trees too.

Yeah the Raid should guarantee at least one definite piece per player.

Are there any raid secondaries?

This game in general doesn't have that much gear.

I was thinking about this last night. My alt titan has a legendary helmet and I got one from an engram. I didn't even really bother looking at it because all legendary (non-raid) armor are basically interchangeable.

All legendaries have the same "budget" except for raid legendaries. Your Queen's chest is equivalent to, say, a Vanguard chest in terms of what it can have on it (including hitting 27 Light).

I wouldn't really consider saving shards for armor until you are comfortably into 28. Hitting 28 is more important than hitting 29 or 30 unless you're super interested in trying to be top dog in Iron Banner or plan on doing hard mode VoG. Hitting 28 though will put you on even ground in Nightfall and the second VoG encounter in normal, which is a big advantage in those two runs.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's better to be 28 than 26-27 and saving your shards for raid loot you don't know when you'll have.

Speaking of raid gear, why is it purple? Why is there no identifier on it? Had a friend accidentally dismantle one thinking it was a regular legendary.

Are there any raid secondaries?
Yep. I got Praedyth's Revenge (legendary sniper) and Found Verdict (legendary shotgun) both from the raid. Also got Corrective Measure (legendary HMG) as well for the heavy slot.

Not sure what else the raid offers. Maybe a rocket launcher?
