Yoshida's response: "Development couldn't be better."

A quote he quickly followed with, "... That might be a bit of an exaggeration (laugh)

This will never meet expectations going through this development hell.

Then again it'll never be released, so it doesn't matter. Not sure why people even care anymore.

Blizzards Titan was cancelled after 7 years of development. TLG is only a modest 5.

"Still in development" means nothing... When we actually see in-game footage you can believe it is real.

I expect to see something at next year's E3. Happy to know it's still on their minds, but there are so many games coming out in the next year that the wait will be welcome.

I think they'd be better off canceling it. The game can never live up to expectations after all of this wait and buildup.

We should have a reply for every news source on the internet so we can have one of these threads for every hour of the next several years.

At a certain point though the narrative that's it's been a complete development disaster will dominate and then people will be pleasantly surprised when it turns out pretty good. All part of Sony's 10 year plan for TLG.

I have been saying that for awhile but, then you would have had the list of:
The Last Guardian |OT| - I don't care if the game never came out.
The Last Guardian Mourning and Coping Thread
The Last Guardian "What could have been thread"
"I will never buy another Sony product ever again" thread
"Sony has betrayed us" thread

I got more but I can't think of them right now, its early.

I don't agree. Super Mario Galaxy totally lived up to the hype and that was a project that started off very differently on GCN. Pikmin 3 had a similar history as well and that game exceeded all of the hype with its quality.

If this were a third party game, I'd be inclined to agree with you. But Sony is likely giving the devs every opportunity to make sure this game is awesome. Let's keep an open mind.

This is my most anticipated game ever.

But at this point, I just don't think it can live up to the hype, just like Half Life 3.

I'll still buy the shit out of it.

The hype around this game... From what we have seen, it DOES look great... But in my opinion, only once has a game lived up to a massive development time (Mother 3), and it completely changed a few times. I am curious if it'll turn out good should it eventually come out.

> Re-reveal trailer in PS meeting (feb20) 2016
> E3 gameplay blowout as the opening keynote of sony's conference
> GCom more media blowout and release date for 2016 holidays

believe!

Trico in Bloodborne???
I want to believe

As a Legend of Dragoon fanman just be glad they're still working on it. Even if it never lives up to expectations (which seems likely) at least it appears that you'll get it eventually.

"Development couldn't be better."

This line sounds like it deserves such a reply: "Keep deluding yourself." Pfft...lol.
