Well this has escalated quickly. Wait for price drop + post gameplay/resolution patch. Seems like the best course of action.
I don't think his comment is supposed to be taken as the CPU is really restrictive and instead the CPUs are the same so why not lock the GPUs too?
Godspeed this thread.
I don't think it's that serious but wow, the reactions. Am I the only one who doesn't necessarily think this is a huge problem but more like an honest but bullshit comment.
At least they were honest about why they didn't do it.
Isn't that what we wanted? Transparency?
"We decided to lock them at the same specs to avoid all the debates and stuff,"
I don't know how much the rest of you know about French culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you screw someone over in France, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the french public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase Assassins Creed Unity for either system, nor will they purchase any of Ubisofts's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Ubisoft has alienated an entire market with this move.
Ubisoft, publicly apologize and make Asssassins Creed Unity 1080p/60 FPS on PS4 or you can kiss your business goodbye.
The irony is that this copy pasta is how people are actually treating this news. I remember this same shit happening for Watch Dogs when it was 900p 30fps for PS4 and the same comments happened
"Oh I'm cancelling my pre order"
"Oh thanks ubisoft for making the decission not to buy your game easier"
And Watch Dogs ends up being the best debut for a new IP from ubisoft.
Fuck I think GAF has gotten even more hilarious when it comes to this resolution outrage. People are cancelling pocket watch pre orders.
This shit is fucking hilarious.
Looks like Mordor will be the only open world game I buy this year.
speak with your money not bitching bout it on forums

I will check it out. Last Ubisoft game I played on PC was Black flag and it ran fairly well enough, but it stuttered like crazy. I checked on the internet and everyone complained it was poorly optmized, so maybe I am crazy. No, i'm not crazy. Just check any benchmark or DF analysis of Ubisoft games. There are comparisons to PCs with 750Ti or R260.
So :
-900p
-Sub 30 fps
-Aliasing everywhere
Any other shit?
Am I hallucinating or did you post the same thing earlier in the thread?

so their line of logic was to implement parity to avoid debates about parity?

#PS4NoParity is picking up steam. Keep the tweets coming!![]()
This is absolute nonsense. If your scenario were true, console gaming would be dead, and the PS3 would never have sold as many multi platform games as it did.
If people want a game, they buy it for the console they own, and if they have multiple consoles, the best version of the game based on their requirements.
You're a reasonable person Seanspeed...
Is this company-wide policy now?? Wonder if they'll do it for Far Cry....
You don't just move arbitrary code to the GPU, especially not AI. People always expected too much from that in this regard. What happened to GPGPU compute? Not there yet or not something that could solve their AI issue? I thought It was supposed to be the coolest.
You did not read the OP did you?
You aren't hallucinating, I reposted because it got shunted at the bottom of the other page. Outside of his stupid comment, people need to realize that both consoles are really gimped on the CPU side and I have a feeling this won't be the only time we hear about devs complaining about it.
Well, I can only speak for myself but I haven't bought Watch Dogs to this day because of the resolution issue. I'm kinda sad so many people did cause maybe Unity would be 1080p now.I don't know how much the rest of you know about French culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. I can't help but think he just explained this really poorly, because he then goes on to say they're CPU bound, and both consoles are nearly identical on that front.
