for new comers, let me sum up the OP.
Not when discussing Microsoft's Xbox One game output. It's pretty obvious that people are talking about the output of new games, not remakes from old generations that people have already played. If the criteria on game output is that loose then the Wii U has an amazing line up of games because of Virtual Console.Neither is the Master Chief Collection. Are we not allowed to count that as an Xbox exclusive either?
Is there really negativity surrounding 'The Order: 1886"? Since I honesty don't know, what seems to be the problem with the title?
Fair point, they did unnecessarily pump out too many PS3 titles last year.
It was a mistake D:
I don't know if you are tying to be ironic, or if maybe you didn't notice, but you are drawing those exact same lines, for the exact same reasons, by using 'console' and not 'platform'. You are saying you don't care about other platforms because this reason or that, and it frames the very thing you are deriding while doing it.
Why did ISS pale in comparison to the other infamous games?
What did you not like about Knack and Killzone?
What have you played of Driveclub and Order 1886 that makes you say the gameplay is mediocre?
Exactly what i'm wondering. I enjoyed Knack and Killzone, don't care about the haters !
Sony WWS has been shockingly mediocre so far this gen with regards to AAA titles.
Knack?
KZ: SF?
Drive Club?
Order 1886? (so much negativity around this one, will likely review poorly)
The only one that scored well was I:SS, but even that paled in comparison to other
Infamous games. Then we have TLoU:R, but that's a last gen port.
Personally, Sony so far has become synonymous with the "style over substance" saying,
like we get it: the PS4 is capable of great graphics, but it seems to come at the expense
of compelling/substantial gameplay!
Complete props to Nintendo and MS for putting out worthwhile titles this year which
will no doubt succeed critically and commercially
Didn't want to derail the DC review thread, so I figured I'd vent.
Don't count out Bloodborne; from what I've played, the game is fantastic. (or does that one has nothing to do with WWS?)
It scored a few Metacritic points less.

So, just to clarify because I'm not sure I'm up to speed with the agendas in this topic. If we're talking solely about SCEWWS that means the following do not count:
Bloodborne (From Software)
Resogun (Housemarque)
The Last of Us: Remastered (re-release)
Which means that if we're not counting games actually developed internally by Sony studios then we also have to disregard the following:
Sunset Overdrive (Insomniac)
Halo: The Master Chief Collection (re-release)
Titanfall (not exclusive and not even published by MS)
D4 (Access Games)
Bayonetta 2 (Platinum/Sega)
Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (was that this year? Re-release)
If you measure a console's software strength only by the games its internal studios put out - which is a very odd arbitrary condition - then you make each of them look considerably weaker.
I wouldn't call it the weakest, but I also wouldn't even call it close to one of the best console launches ever. Resogun stole the show over what were supposed to be the two big retail launch games, and most of what has come out for the system can be bought on PS3/360.Am I the only person who looks at the PS4 line up and feels like this is one of the best console launches ever? I have so many PS4 games already that are fun and enjoyable that I can't keep up. My backlog has never started off this deep.
I'm sorry, I can't in any way shape or form agree with any of you who think Sony's lineup is "weak." It's not even mediocre, much less "weak."
SCEWW output is pretty bad for years now but it's shown clearly now on PS4.
You're dismissing a legitimately good game because it has a slightly lower metacritic score than its predecessors? Well that's silly. The only one that scored well was I:SS, but even that paled in comparison to other
Infamous games.

That's the only game I have hope for, to be honest, but even that is made through
From Software. Studio Japan haven't put out anything compelling by themselves in some
time.
So, you discredit Bloodborne for not being entirely by Japan Studio, even though they are working on it along with From, but when pressed you list Titanfall, Horizon 2, and Sunset. Nevermind the fact that Sunset isn't out yet (although that didn't stop you from passing judgment on The Order interestingly), two of those three games aren't developed by Microsoft at all, one of them isn't even an exclusive, and Horizon 2, like Bloodborne, isn't entirely by Microsoft. But who cares about consistency, right?Titanfall? Horizon 2? Sunset?
You know what all these games seemingly have in common? Great gameplay.
I'm sure FH2 reinvented the wheel though.LBP3 does seem fun, but I've had my fill from the other 2 before it,
also it doesn't seem to be doing much that's new.
Cmon son.TLoU:R...infuriating graphical defects
Yeah, three generations and some 12+ years clearly isn't enough time. Microsoft is a videogame toddler and should be judged as such.I don't hold MS internal studios to the same standard as Sony's since Sony has been
at it for much longer than MS.
Coincidentally Transistor is my GOTY therefore PS4 is now having a great year for meIf you are going to start counting TitanFall I'm going to start counting games like Transistor...
Yep, you got all of Orochi's blatant hypocrisies and console warrior sentiments highlighted in an easy to read post. Thanks for going through the trouble so no one else has to give this guy any of their time. You're dismissing a legitimately good game because it has a slightly lower metacritic score than its predecessors? Well that's silly.

Is this a tag fishing thread?
I'll be honest with you, new IPs like Knack and DC are the worst of their kind due to
how shallow that are, whether in the gameplay department or content wise.
DC is as unfinished a game as I've ever seen. Despite the year delay it feels as if it's still a launch title!
Don't count out Bloodborne; from what I've played, the game is fantastic. (or does that one has nothing to do with WWS?)
That is just flat out wrong. This thread is getting ridiculous.SCEWW output is pretty bad for years now but it's shown clearly now on PS4.
Are you playing DC right now or are you just going off of reviews?
I have to agree though. The only difference is I don't think MS has released anything better.
Titanfall really was great but ultimately extremely shallow and kept my attention for about 2 weeks.
Everything else has been good but not great by any stretch.
Shu, please respond.
Bloodbore is not an WWS game.
What is SCEWW known for that is so much better than the games listed in OP?
It is! Co-developed by SCE Japan Studio.Bloodbore is not an WWS game.
Yeah, I'm having deja vu here. I remember all the concern when Heavenly Sword got mix reviews.Did people forget about Lair, Genji, Blast Factor, NBA 07, Untold Legends sony released for the PS3 in its first year or what.
Yeah, I'm having deja vu here. I remember all the concern when Heavenly Sword got mix reviews.
Shows that nothing ever changes with console warriors.
