Do you feel sorry for certain sports fans in which they're stuck with shitty teams?

Whatever it's the NBA (Basketball), the NHL (Hockey), MLB (Baseball), MLS (Soccer), or the NFL (Football), do you feel bad for certain sports fans, knowing that they're stuck with some of the most shittest teams ever?

Examples: Oakland, California: The NFL fans living there are being stuck with the Oakland Raiders as their football team.
Or in Jacksonville, Florida in which NFL fans living there are stuck with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Or in Tampa, Florida in which NFL fans living there are stuck with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Just my opinion, of course.

Teams can't be good forever. Sox went from winning the World Series to being shit next season.

God knows when Brady retires the pats are done. When Belichick leaves pats are double done.

As long as you're not a little bitch and jump ship to a better team ie fairweather fan I think most people can respect someone cheering on a bad team. They got some principles.

I was born and raised in Minnesota. God why :(

I did get to witness the twins win 2 world series though. But to balance that out, I've watched the Vikings choke over and over again like some sadistic groundhog day.

The rugby team I support used to be the best in the world 10 years ago and this year they were relegated haha. It's been very hard to see the decline

I don't know. Pats went 11-5 without Brady with Matt Cassel in a division where 3 teams ended up 11-5. Pats without Brady will struggle more, but I don't think "done" is quite where I'd go. If they can get as lucky as Indianapolis and get someone like Luck.

I feel sorry for Leafs fans cause they were either born into it or have battered spouse syndrome, but I do get bothered when I occasionally get shit for not being suckered into it too.

The worlds most expensive soccer player will never play in a World Cup.

edit: oh you said fans, thought it said players.

Can't you just cheer a different team if they're shit? What's the problem there?

Nope, maybe I'm baised because I come from Toronto but being the shitty underdog at least lets you appreciate the W's you get.

It hurts waking up everday knowing your teams just suck... hurts so bad ;-;

If you live in Southern Ohio, you have not seen a pro sports team advance a single round in any playoffs, even 1-game playoffs, in 20 years, when the Reds advanced to the NLCS.

Reds, Bengals, and, if you want to include it, the Blue Jackets, too.

I dare any city to top that. Two fucking decades without advancing a SINGLE ROUND in any playoffs. Who seriously has it worse than us?

No. What I'm sorry for is people who just jump around from team to team/latch onto one just because they're doing good.

This. I claim to be a Chelsea fan, but do I REALLY give a shit? They aren't playing for my city. People who choose out of market teams to support just don't get the full sports experience.

That being said, I do like Chelsea the best and over 8 years haven't jumped ship yet. Can't ever switch, lest I be a jerk.

No, you support it at all costs. I'm a United fan and have been for 23 years, but we were shit last year and I realised what it felt like to be a Liverpool fan.

I'm in Kansas, so I root for the Jayhawks, Royals, and the Cheifs.

Some blissful moments, so many tears.

I wont trade those teams for anything.

It wasn't all that long ago that Jacksonville and Tampa had really good football teams. For most franchises, it's cyclical.

No. As someone with a total disinterest in sports I've always been confused by fans who cling to shitty teams just because they're from a certain city or state. If your area's team sucks I don't get why you wouldn't just move your loyalty to the next closest team that doesn't suck. But maybe i'm missing something there. Sentimentality?

being a browns fan has its fair share of self loathing, but the highs, infrequent and minor as they may be, are unbeatable.

as an adolescent boy having your favorite team literally disappear for a few years was a kick in the pants.

Well seeing as how many pay taxes to them/their stadiums you might as well hope they do something other than suck.
