This particular friend already knew that. No need to tell him that.
But, yeah, my original intent with that is still the same. The strength of the end of 2014 for MS's lineup has made the "how many Ps" argument less convincing. Okay The Witcher 3 has 180 more Ps (yes, I know the total pixel count difference...) but Forza Horizon 2 plays at 1080p on the XB1 and 0p on the PS4... (though it sort of plays at some amount of Ps on the 360...)

Sorry, but the fact that the PS4 has better performing multi-platform titles means one does not have to be a "console-warrior" to recommend the PS4.
I spend 90% of my time on multi-platform games. So do, I expect, most people.
People make way too big of a deal out of exclusives, in general.

It's an entertaining experience to snap Hockey while playing Forza Horizon 2 online with friends. Very easy to snap and switch between Party Chat, TV, Achievements, etc.
Maybe if you gave it a try you would change your mind?

Jesus, as if anyone cares about this app. Germany is Sonyland (see current PS3/4 sales), together with the German PS/FIFA culture (playsi) and their long time Champions League sponsorship it is pretty much guaranteed that other competitors will fail in this country.
You're pretty confident even though I'm not sure what will change compared to last year.

FH2 came out in Sept. So from April to Sept there were no exclusives.
If you're going to bring up D4, it shouldn't be as a compliment. MS obviously doesn't care about it.
Because of the absolute trouncing in nearly ever region that doesn't seem like it's letting up any time soon. Joe somebody used to be all about PS2 before the amazing 360 came along. I loved my 360, but MS fucked up and Sony took the opportunity this time out. It was the absolutely perfect shit storm MS created for themselves and they've been trying to crawl out of the hole they dug ever since. You put too much stock in shit on a system that doesn't even involve games. When you can't even do a lower price for the competition, you aren't winning over anyone with that. Games, and a deluge of them is what could bring MS out of distant second. I still don't think they'll be overtaking Sony, though.
Subjective lists mean nothing. I'm looking forward to LBP3 more than SO but so what? That doesn't mean everybody is.
And sony will have released more exclusive titles this year than MS, who seems to have forgotten that there are 2 months in the year, not just 3-4.

If I had a One, I'd have FH2 and be looking forward to a couple more exclusives down the line but that's it for now. I have a feeling if they show some good stuff at E3, I'll bite on it finally. But it's bizarro world now where I will definitely be getting multi plats I'm interested in on PS4. 360 was my absolute go to last gen in that area.

The highlight videos on BILD app are online 1h before they are shown on regular TV without commercials. Thats the value the app adds.
Yes you can watch all that on your PC or any iOS/droid device, but if your console supports it, you will watch it there.
If BILD promotes something in Germany it will always have an effect.
All their 20m readers see is XBOX + BUNDESLIGA.

I guess you're lucky. I don't have the time to play on more than one system because everything else in my life takes precedence.
But I do have an Xbox One (because of Halo) and Forza Horizon 2 is pretty sweet and a lot of fun to play with overwhelming amount of content.
As for multiplatform games, I don't really care if they perform less. I have fun in the short time I get to play video games during a week and that's good enough for me.

You could watch Bundesliga highlights on the Sky GO app in the last 3-4 years on the 360 and it still got outsold.

I think you are a little too far down the rabbit hole with your opinion too really acknowledge facts.
The X1 will not "win" Germany, the 360 did not even do it. And I never said that X1 will.
And looking at sales records of 2014 won't tell you who sells how much in 2016.
All I said is that MS is making moves with partners like BILD and that I think it will be positive for them.
See, average people don't read review threads, digital foundry stuff etc. They hear about consoles only when MAJOR brand talks about it or it is associated with MAJOR brands.
MS is working these channels really well, because money.

ioi was the username of a GAF member from years ago. He stunk up the sales threads with made up numbers, and eventually got permabanned. Then he started his site, vg chartz .com, and seems to do very well selling BS to unsuspecting clients. That site is also banned on GAF (hence the chopped up site name above), because its figures are partly compiled from awful methodology, partly completely made up, and all terrible.

I have little time as well. I went out of my way to finish Shadow of Mordor in about a week and a half...and I powered through that in my case. I'm just choosier with what I play. I like having options console wise. 2 year olds don't allow much game time, but I get it in when I can. Which is usually a couple hours certain nights of the week after everyone is asleep.

You can watch the highlights for free with the app, but free users like me get them a day or two later. So its a free app with premium functions.
SkyGo is a tag on to the Sky PayTV subscription and only subscribers can get content.

I keep hearing about the "strength of the X1 lineup" compared to PS4 but I mean, is it just me or am I not seeing it? A collection of remasters and the latest game from a studio that has been incredibly mediocre for 5 years now? I mean, that's what counts as "strong" nowadays?
I just don't get it, I'd say both are equally weak, exclusive wise (or if MS is "strong" then I guess they're equally strong?)

Well lets see, XB1 will have easily the best racing game this holiday season.
They have a new IP, yes the dev track record has been hit or miss the last few years but they have been more than willing to show off the title which suggests they're confident that it's solid, not to mention if it were a turd MS would be less likely to bundle it.
Yes they also have a remaster, but look what you get in that remaster, that is a LOT of value on one disc. Yes the Halo series is subjective in it's popularity but there is no question that as far as sheer content the Halo remaster is significantly better value than TLOU.
Plus you have all the 3rd party titles that PS4 has for the most part.
I think the XB1 has a stronger lineup this year, which sucks because I only have a PS4, but if I came into some dough (or they bundle another game with the AC:U bundle) I would buy one in a heartbeat.
Wat. I just told you 360 was my jam last gen. I'd love it if MS was doing better. Just stop, guy.

You can't just disregard Halo MCC because it's a 'remake'. That is just silly, it's going to be extremely popular.
You're completely ignoring Forza Horizon 2, probably because there's nothing bad to say about it.
Sunset Overdrive looks amazing, regardless of the studio's recent history. If it doesn't turn out so well then, sure, you can remove it from your console wars list.
You don't mention Project Spark, even though if you were to talk about the PS4 lineup, you'd undoubtedly list LBP3.
And of course, there are other games like Dance Central, Ori, and D4.
But hell, you're right. Weak lineup.
I'm not comparing them in a competitive way. They are both awesome games.

Different titles appeal to different people, of course, but there's also a question of the timing of exclusives. I will be very curious to see what the market makes of the strategy of saving a tide of exclusives during the peak buying season exactly when they're competing with strong multi-platform releases for attention. Compare that to the February surge when the release calendar is comparatively quiet and you've got two markedly different approaches.

I'm buying/bought: D4, FH2, SO, MCC, Ori for XB1 exclusives. I'm probably not getting any PS4 exclusives this fall outside of the PS+ stuff that I get to download. That's a pretty stark difference.
Obviously taste has a big role in how you feel but if you objectively think that the 2014 lineups of exclusives are "equally weak" then you probably don't like good things and like bad things. Objectively speaking. /s

Let me just add a little retail flavor to this sauce. Out of all of those games at my store, MCC is the only one that you could look at pre-orders and say, 'Well that is going to do fairly well this fall.' Well of course it is. It's all 4 Halos remade. FH2 has sold averagely, while the pre-orders for SO are...well I'm not going to say bad, but they aren't exactly blowing up the charts either. We actually have more pre-orders for the CoD Xbone bundle than the SO one (even though that white Xbone looks pretty sweet). Project Spark? We haven't sold a copy all week. Whether or not you feel the Xbone has a better lineup than Sony is irrelevent when in the grand scheme, MS is banking heavily on MCC to pull the through this fall with CoD and SO pulling in decent sales as well.
As for Sony? Destiny, Driveclub, LBP3, and all the marketing deals they have for other multiplat games is how they are positioning themselves this holiday season. So yes, exclusive wise Sony is lacking compared to MS, however strong word of mouth and a few decent bundles will keep Sony ahead.
GTA V will probably sell a couple copies on both consoles as well.
