Friends who own it say the battery's fine and lasts through a day without problems, even on high usage. The display is FullHD, and there's no "waiting list", you just need an invite (which are thrown around everywhere, as someone said in this thread earlier).
Shield is only 1080p though.
Crazy top of the line display panel doesn't matter? There's what 3 phones out there using QHD panels right now and you don't think that adds a significant amount to the cost?

That smaller battery powers the smaller screen if that's what you mean. Personally a 64 GB device with a 400+ ppi display at $350 doesn't sound like the nightmare you're describing.
So what storage are you getting for $650 on the N6?

You are comparing a phone from 6 months ago to one released now. Comparing a 3100 mah battery to one that is 3220 is going to show a minimal difference in real world use. One Plus 2 will probably be announced in March or April with a Snapdragon 810 with 2k screen at $350 again. The phone is easy enough to get if you want one. They have to make sure they dont overproduce stock ir they will go out of business. You are comparing a $350 phone vs one that is $700 with comparable storage.

Lol why are you trying to argue. Enjoy your $700 Nexus if you think a slightly larger QHD screen is worth it being $350 more. Of course most have said there is no discernible difference between that and a 1080p screen and negates most of the benefit of the faster processor.

I would have preferred 16:10 but what can you do. I really don't find any of the other available Android tablets that appealing when weighed against every the N9 has going for it.
Because your argument is weak and ultimately pointless.
If Google were based in China and were in the business of shipping a six month old phone with cheaper components and were trickling them out of a factory with razor thin margins with no retail partners anywhere and a tiny operation with few employees to pay, etc. then, yeah, you could say that the price is a rip off.
I'd rather compare oranges to oranges though.

I went from a Galaxy S 3 to the Nexus 5 and I thought the same thing, but all my music plays from the cloud and photos/videos are also backed up to the cloud as well.
The only things that takes up space now, are apps.
But spreading speculative, fictional hyperbole is more entertaining. So keep at it!
It's a major factor, yes. Unless it's a phone I plan on keeping for 2+ years. The N4 was the longest I've kept an android phone because I didn't think the N5 was worth the upgrade as the battery life was only marginally better. During that time I've owned a iPhone 5, and 5S both of which sold for a profit. I don't think the N6 is worth it's weight in value when compared to phones we'll be getting in 6 months. @$400-450? Yes, but @ $650 nope. The jump next year to 20nm SoCs and more efficient screen tech should bring way better battery life, which is the most important thing to me when shopping for an android smartphone today. So $650 now for a phone that will probably have average to good battery life, or $650 5-6 months from now for a phone that will have great to excellent battery life with other upgraded hardware components that will easily last me 2+ years. I already had $450 put aside for the N6, but I'll just sell the N4, add $50, grab a G2 and wait for something better. But, that's just me. Everyone should do what works for them.

I don't think anyone was ready for a $650 Nexus. I'll wait for reviews before making a decision on the N6. But for now I'm happy with my N5.

Why are you so angry? I think comparing devices that contain hardware, that is roughly the same age when those devices at released, a valid point of discussion. If you think a phone that provides similar performance in day to day operation and benchmarks worthy of a $350 premium more power to you. Enjoy your Nexus 6. If the Nexus 6 was $450 or less I would jump in, but now I'll just wait for phones with 64 bit processors next year.
I don't think anyone is debating the beastly nature of this device, it seems well worth the $650 price tag. Or at least on paper it does, we'll see how it performs in benchmarks. That said, the specs and thus, price of the device don't exactly put it in the same Nexus class we've been accustomed to. In the past customers were happy to pay a modest price for a modest device. I hope Google will have a new device to cater to that crowd.

Wasn't the appeal of the Nexus range that you got a mostly high-end phone or tablet at mid-range prices? Why even bother releasing a highly priced flagship phone when they're going to have to compete with Sony, Samsung, and most importantly, Apple at that price range?
Who says I'm angry? I'm just pointing out flaws in your argument. I'm not in here attacking people who don't like the price or size of the Nexus 6. Opinions are fine, I'm just calling out a disingenuous comparison with a clear agenda.

Welp, I may not represent the majority of consumers, but id still take Nexus devices over any of those in a heartbeat. Twice so if i have to choose between Nexus and Samsung (why would i spend more money to get more lag?). Only thing that could come close is probably some HTC phones, once they stop fucking around with cameras.
Also off contract iPhones are still more expensive iirc.
