Lords of the Fallen- Hype??

god damn, i was so interested on this game but its the little details that usually matter to me, the lipsync on this game is horrible, when the main character is talking looks so bad

So- I assume this must be wrong. So the game is now can be pre-ordered on PSN. It says the size is... 4.7 GB... Unless they got some like AMAZING compression. That's really small.

IMO it's one of my most anticipated titles of the year. A dark souls games without having the strange quirks that turn me off of dark souls.

The game is up for pre order on PSN and it seems that the full game is only 4.7Gb...can this be right?

Doesnt it only show the amount needed before you can play? Im pretty sure driveclub was listed at 3-4 gbs, but the total size is much bigger.

How much is this in the EU shops? If I buy this from the local shops, it's gonna be like $90...

I think a large reason for the lack of hype is

1. Very little marketing, even when we are so close to release.

2. Game just looks GENERIC AS FUCK.

3. Every time I hear someone talking about the game, they mostly say it's like "X" Game + "Y" Game. It doesn't sound unique. EDIT: Heck, even you said it's like Dark Souls X Darksiders :D

4. That main character just looks bad.

5. They haven't shown anything that's genuinely extra-ordinary or great to get the hype going.

Pretty much hit the nail on the head with everything.

I might rent it sometime to check it out, but I'm saving my money for Bloodborne. I've watched a few walkthroughs with the devs on this and it just doesn't look that...tempting.

Would love to be surprised, though.

I'll be sure to mass out all the info I can get when the game is launched including framerate stability (PS4), i-frames from rolling/evading, leveling system etc.

Yeah, I'd like to hear some reasoning behind the casual argument

The enemies kill you in a couple of hits, the experience dropping system on death is even harsher than it is in DS etc

The things that would make this game stand out for me:
  • A loot system that surpasses Dark Souls and Darksiders.
  • Amazing set-piece boss battles. Not just breaking some pews in the ruins of some random church.
  • Enemy AI that goes beyond the regular cheating and zerg attacks.
  • Presentation and camera that revels in the game's attention to detail.

4.7 GB ?

Weird...Is this pre-install size ?

Anyone know if the stream from yesterday showed the old footage that we've seen multiple times or is it new content?

Day one for me.
The only thing i dislike is the forced "you are this character" thing, i like to create my own.
But, considering the Soulish combat system and the dark atmosphere, i think it will be fine.
I'll equip a hood or helm, pretending to be somebody else :D

I'm sure it'll be a decent Souls clone, but I had my fill of real Souls for the year, and I want to keep myself fresh for Bloodborne.

Meaning LotF will be for a later date on sale, somewhere in 2015.

the twitch stream was great yesterday-I am now way more confident in my preorder

Lobosjr is one of the most famous Souls streamer. I really want to know his opinion on this game.

I hope I don't lose my hype.

Same for me, I watched his twitch for a while on his cleric-play. The game crashed quite a bit, but I'd love to hear his overall opinion of it.

I'm interested in it, though the main guy looks like a dolt.

Also, it seems it's self published on PC? Steam store page doesn't list Bamco or Square as publishers, maybe there's still hope that GMG will carry it as well.

Game looks great but one question, do we get to create the way our character looks or do we all play as this Ragnar Lothbrok lookin' dude?

Looking at LobosJRs stream... my God, XP/loot multiplier sounds amazing.

I get the feeling I'm gonna be level 1 for hours just so I can stack the multiplier. The greed is gonna be strong in this one!

Oh wow. I've always kinda knew this game existed, but after just watching a developer gameplay demo, I'm thinking it looks pretty amazing. It comes off as a slightly more forgiving and faster-paced version of Dark Souls, and with a much better graphics engine. I'm all about that.

If Yoshi comes back and says the PS4 performance isn't complete ass, I'll preorder.

I've to watch that stream with sound off.

Yup, I'm going to be buying this day 1 on both PS4 and PC. I'll be starting off with the console version first and I'll gladly share my technical impressions with ya'll in the OT asap. Gonna have a 3 day non-stop marathon with my Souls buddies once this goes live.

Killing enemies gives you an XP and item multiplier (x1,02, x1,03 etc for each monster). This keeps going up (we don't know the cap yet) until you decide to level up - or if you die of course. The huge risk reward gameplay is excellent.

Awww, I thought you were saying you were getting this game early for some reason. I must have misread.

Not sure I would be able to wait until after release. I'm already bored and need something to play. Peggle 2 only goes so far.

I wonder if the game will have a hub town, or if the levels are all held together via a menu. Also, I hope it's not all just linear corridors and then a boss arena.

"Dark Souls Clone" surely tickles my interest... on other hand I don't have much faith in the industry to deliver a product like DS.

Is the battle system an "awesome dude simulator" like Shadow of Mordor or something more... substantial?
