IGN plays Sunset Overdrive

The bullet sponge bosses feel counter-intuitive to it's design, considering you need to keep grinding backwards and forwards...ruining that sense of momentum and flow.

It looked to me like the environment offered a number of ways to "flow" around the enemies, but he chose to go back and forth on the wires or rails most of the time.

This game has universal acclaim written all over it.

A fun open world game with great gameplay.

Metacritic prediction of at least 92.

I'm thinking between a 76 and and 83 as the Metacritic. Excited for the game but for some reason I feel the reviews are going to be just above average.

There's nothing unrealistic about a metacritic in the 90s. Everything on the web so far has been positive except for one preview and that was a farce. Monday will be great and Tuesday will be better :D

When is the review embargo on this?
Don't worry, I've got most of the reviews right here:

Polygon: The game is bright and colorful but the fact that both men and woman are treated exactly the same is dismissive of (insert reason here).

7/10

IGN: The game is perfect.

8.89 out of Ten

Angry Joe: COLORS! MICROSOFT!

7.5 ANGRY OUT OF TEN!

95

Gamerkult: I hate games!

4/10

> Gameinformer: One paragraph review covering nothing important about the game.

8/10, second opinion 8.1 out of ten

Metacritic User review: THIS GAME SUCKS MICROSOFT BOUGHT IT LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE! INSOMNIAC BETRAYED US!

0/10

The other Metacritic user review: I'm only reviewing to counter the troll. The game is perfect and you can like shoot and stuff. It's cool.

10/10

they are only playing the first few missions. there a flying enemies, enemies who also grind on the rails and block the rails.

also one thing I've been seeing is that Floyd tells the player to shoot the hurker with the flame gun first to set him on fire, then use the other pistol. yet nobody ever does that and end up using a ton of ammo on him

Well that's good to hear. I'd been watching a lot of Ghost Robo's walkthroughs on YouTube (he has a good 12-14 on there), and it literally caused me to cancel my preorder last night.

I think some of these early walkthroughs, if held back on what they can show, only serve to hurt a game. If there's a lot more to this and it reviews well, I'll get it for Christmas.

It does look nice, but it has the same problems as WatchDogs & inFAMOUS SS huge areas devoid of people, everything looks so sparse, you are supposed to be in a city but nothing feels tight about it like the GTA games do, ok GTA doesn't have packed out streets but they are more populated by people & vehicles.

I will be getting SO as i have the white X1 on order so i am going to keep a open mind about it, but i have a feeling it will be a game i will not finish.

The videos i have seen seems to be very mixed, some people love the game & others hate it, it seems that it could be one of those odd ball games that don't fall into a genre & is either a outstanding game or a pile of poop.

GTA isn't in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.

Keep in mind that it's 2 weeks after an apocalyptic infection. So most of the city is filled by bandits, OD, or Robots.

i don't get your gta comparison its a zombie/mutant apocalypse if anything you should compare it to dead rising.

Where's the fun?

wheresthebeef.jpg

Looks like her severed head is on a carpet.

Not once have I ever understood what people have meant or what they were referring to by the animations looking bad. Not one time.

I hope it gets at least 85.

Not the most exciting video.

I think Sunset might get hammered in reviews and praised for being quirky but ultimately not very good game play. It looks so vibrant but dull as dishwater to play.

I want to like this game quite a bit but it just doesn't look like the type of game I would actually enjoy playing long term.

Disappointing graphically, but looks a lot more entertaining than I thought. Certainly the closest we will get to a JGR/JSR type game.

game looks fun, and I like the quirky aesthetic/presentation
nonetheless tomorrow is going to be troll city, SO threads will be overrun the same as DC.
