Street Fighter 5 exclusively on one platform would be a megaton ?

Not happening.

Street Fighter Alpha Anthology is ps2 only isnt it?

SF5 is looking like Capcoms ace in the hole. They are going to wait with it and put it every where.

Sony should money hatt Monster Hunter if they money hat anything from Capcom. I don't think either will happen either way, but you can bump this topic with the self pat on the back pic if it turns out you're right. :)

To anyone saying this would not be a big deal you obviously do not follow the fighting game community. I have been thinking SFV would be exclusive for a while and I have my reasons for thinking so but I am not sure where it will wind up. If it was to be a PS4 exclusive that automatically sells systems and fight sticks to the competitive scene and there are more than you could possibly imagine worldwide. Lets say it is a PS4 Exclusive .... you automatically get system sales to all of the major events and the minors.

One of my reasons for thinking this is the fact that KI will definitely be at EVO for a while and that is an XB1 exclusive I am sure Sony wants their machine represented with something exclusive at EVO as well. That hardcore community will buy thousands of machines for a single game. Yes they have GG but the SF,Smash and MK numbers will make those seem infinitesimal.

It would be a megaton in that it would cause an uproar. Financially it doesn't seem like it would be a sound decision.

It would be pretty huge. The Playstation teasing would imply something is in the works. USFIV exclusive would be meh unless SFV is years out, then it would be a decent get.

If so, it has to be for the Vita, cause I don't think it will move alot of PS4s. A mainline Dragon Quest on the other hand would seem a better deal for PS4.

I think Ono PS4 exclusive is probably a new IP.
At Capcom Cup I expect them to release a CGI trailer for SF5 with gameplay being shown next year at E3, SDCC and Evo.

edit: I wouldn't also rule out something exclusive in SF5 like a mode or even a Sony related character.

I do not see it happening.

I do feel Sony could use an exclusive fighter though (with the competition having Killer Instinct and Smash), but hope they come with something new in that regard.

Funny timing with this topic, Garcia. Just saying that because Ken Bogard (french superstar fighting games commentator) apparently said SFV is going to be PS4 exclusive. Don't know if he was joking, but there are a lot of retweets on the 29th october about this on his twitter account : https://twitter.com/KenBogard

When was the last time a major publisher exclusive stayed that way at least for that generation?

I was thinking about Metal Gear Solid IV. Even Steam didn't get a late port (for now ?).

Still, even if I love fighting games, I really don't think a SFV exclusive would cause the same amount of rage on internet than the Rise of the Tomb Raider case. Street Fighter or not, fighting games are niche compared to an action/adventure game with Lara Croft.

Iirc that game's development/code was a clusterfuck and KojiPro didn't want to touch it after finishing the game. The only reason they went back in to add trophies and full install was for the 25th Anniversary.

SF would cause plenty more range than TR, plenty.

Nintendo and Capcom brought Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Sony shoud do something with Capcom too.

But Street Fighter 5 is impossible.

This would kill KI and be exclusive to a system that is a sequel to one with awful online for SF4. I would not play it out of severe dislike.

MS already has Killer Instinct which is um... tailored for their target audience.

what's that mean?

anyways, don't most people play fighters on Sony systems unless it's exclusive? i only know one guy who plays any kind of fighters and he always bought them on his playstation.

KI hasn't been confirmed for EVO 2015.

What do you think of it?

Maybe initially. But there would eventually be Super Street Fighter 5, Super Street Fighter 5 Arcade Edition, Ultimate Street Fighter 5, Ultimate Street Fighter 5 Alpha Omega EX etc etc on the other consoles and PC so it would sort of undermine any initial exclusivity.

It would be to me. Couldn't care less about Tomb Raider, but Street Fighter would be a big one.

Don't see it happening though. At most, I think Playstation will get exclusive characters like in Street Fighter x Tekken and Mortal Kombat.

SF4 was a huge success for Capcom if you think it was considered a dead franchise. But Vanilla sold less than MK9 and Tekken 6.

The only thing tekken 6 did better than sfiv money wise was be more profitable in arcades and ship more copies to the retail channels. There's a reason why TTT2 shipped f all compared to t6, retailers got burnt.

mk9 did like 1.2 million first month npd while t6 did like 200k, t6 sold f all in japan on console yet if you believe namco it sold the same as mk9...

and yeah eu made up the difference when mk9 was bigger and t6 was in bargin bins after a few weeks....

and if sfiv was done like mk9 in regards to dlc characters goty/komplete editions it would've easily been around the same level if not higher... but the sfiv > super split worked better for capcom anyway...

It would not be a smart move for Capcom. My stance on Ono's secret game has been that yes it is a fighting game but that it is actually Sony vs Capcom. It gets around the licensing issues the other VS games have had, it gives Sony an exclusive fighter to go against the exclusive fighters on both the Xbox and WiiU, and its a nod to players on the 20th anniversary of the playstation brand.

Now mind you this is based on nothing but me pulling ideas out of my ass, but a man can dream.

Guilty Gears XRD..... tho the game doesn't have that much of a mainstream appeal as the series you mentioned.

SF? Don't see it. A fighting game with Sony and Capcom characters or possibly PSASBR 2 as an actual fighting game is more likely imo.

Give me a spin off from the Street Fighter series - def not a vs. game. Hate those...
