Where are the bundles/discounts? Is Sony really so confident that they think November will be a cake walk when their competitor dropped the price by $50 with a game to boot? 2 of the biggest games of November are bundled with the Xbox One, CoD and Unity. Then there is the MCC. Still no announcement of the PS4 GTAV bundle for the USA. Heck even the Wii U will do well this month with the launch of Smash. I'm not saying the PS4 won't do well in November but I can't see it selling better than the Xbox One for the month.

Tomorrow may bring something. The key is to make sure your announcements are well timed to maximise the effect. They don't need to do anything, really, because it's a wide margin we are talking about and one month won't make a difference, but to counter the bundles, they'll want to do it when it makes sense. Eliminate the Ass/Halo boost.

Of course they don't, especially when they are coming from seven years of losing nearly every month. Every win is celebration, even loss is just a loss and nothing to worry about so long as sales are still respectable and within expectations.
Even if MS do somehow 'win' a month, it won't be by a huge margin. It'll be very close and there'll certainly be no cause for alarm at Sony HQ.

I'm thinking they'll announce the GTA V Bundle tomorrow, or at least sometime next week. I mean that GTA pre-order bonus ends today, so that's where my line of reasoning comes from.

Each division is run on a separate budget set at the start of each year and current revenue has no effect on this year's spending.
I just mentioned this in the other thread but I wonder if Sony will really let the gaming division give away anything this holiday. Ps4 is already selling incredibly well, they may be stubborn enough to think the XB1 deal doesn't matter.
Right now as a parent I look at 349 plus a game as an awesome deal. I miss the days of consoles coming with a game!

I don't think Sony's all that concerned with XBOX outselling them for one month, especially if it takes a drop in price and a bundled game to do it. Sony could also have a big Black Friday sale ready for this year that we don't know about yet. In the past they've included 2-4 bundled games with the PS3 so it's not out of the realm of possibility to see the Destiny bundle at $399 with another game included or something.

Why is there panic? Holiday season is still not here, there will be retailer pricedrops when people start serious shopping.
MS is sure desperate, but Sony will react when appropriate. I don't expect big pricedrops [except some short-term retailer deals], more likely $400 console will get one or few free games.

Microsoft needs to atleast have sales parity or outsell Sony. The bundles Microsoft have out are insane - $349 plus 1-2 games. If you can't beat Sony with that, what are you going to beat them with?

No plan necessary. A price drop is a one-way procedure, it's not something you should do without careful consideration.
They might get outsold in November but they'll still be ahead LTD in North America and obviously the rest of the world.
And they'll be still be selling at launch price, which is exactly where they want to be. The Xbox One went from $500 to $350 in less than a year, I'm pretty sure no one at Microsoft wanted that to happen.

I've also been waiting to see some kind of news regarding holiday deals on the PS4. As of last month I have stashed away enough extra cash to make my purchase, but the recent xbox holiday deal announced I decided to hold off scooping up the PS4 for fear that right after I purchased it, a better holiday deal would be announced.
Like has been said though, it's still pretty early and there's still plenty of time for something to be announced. I tell you though... every day it gets harder and harder to just not pick up the white destiny bundle.

Value adds of first party games. Cost effective and won't hit the bottom line as much.
A bundle with TLoU:R, Infamous SS and FL and GTA5 would be pretty damn appealing, even next to the X1 and its recent holiday price cut.
