The monster is suppose to run

So you're saying I'm just ending up with bad players? No way, I would think the monster would spawn away from the players.
No way is the spawn under neath the drop ship. That is the dumbest shit if true.

They spawn under the dropship and early. They have plenty of time to get away before the hunt begins.

When the game starts, you see a flare drop right beside the monster. That's the hunters marking where the monster is. After about 30 seconds the dropship will land in that exact spot and the hunters will start looking for you. You can either book it to try and create as much space between you and the dropship as possible, or you can sneak and force the hunters to either split up, guess where you went, or wait for Daisy to pick up the trail.

The monster should have killed and eaten a couple animals and be out of sight before the dropship even lands. If you spot the monster right away, that person has no idea what they're doing.

Welp another day of fucking with my network and still just getting a red ring when searching for games, can even get friends to join me but we can't play. I'm done, canncled my preorder. Maybe if beta comes out and they fix what ever issue I'm getting I'll give it a try then.

Does anyone know if the full game will have some kind of bot match mode to train?
I just played a round as the monster, and had 0 idea what I was doing. Being able to play a little bit offline to learn all the abilities etc. could really help.

Okay, while it sucks I've been stuck with players like that, it makes me happy to hear the game isn't broken in some way. Thanks for the info guys!

I don't know whether the AI in the alpha is temporary or what but they really need to tone it down. Played as the monster against only two real humans, and yet it was impossible to take them all down even as a fully armored, full health Stage 3 Goliath. Val and Hank were the bots, every time I'd go after one of them the other would start healing/shielding them instantly so I couldn't kill either one, and if I went after someone else they'd both focus their abilities on them with the same result. No human would ever play that well.

I wish every game had an option to play with bots. I suck at online and so does my Internet connection.

Yeah I've experienced that. It was frustrating as hell lol.

No point in beating a dead horse, read through the thread and you'll get why some people are drawing comparisons between Evolve and L4D Vs. It really isn't worth continually re-hashing, it is rather obvious that some people fully disagree with the observation...no biggy.

I might not have expreesed myself clear enough, but I was actually wondering if the shooting mechanics felt similar to L4D. I'm only asking this because I prefer a little bit of "weight" to guns in shooters. For example, you have the L4D series where, in my opinion, felt a little loose.

Getting back to what you were talking about, I totally understand why some may say it's Survivors vs. Tank, and also those who may disagree. That judgment, I feel, is bet left up to the individual player to make on their own.

So far had a great time playing monster, tho I feel there is no real way to outrun the hunters once you've been spotted once, it'd be pretty bad at the beginning if you have single slip up.

You cover a lot of ground leaping, once you get far enough away you can go into sneak mode and double back.

some pc codes, quote to see.

Anyone have any success getting this game to work with dx 10 cards? I have a radeon 4890 and the game errors out with "couldn't allocate specular texture atlas" and then is stuck in a loop until I forcibly close steam.

There's a workaround that involves using the directx control panel to force particular settings for the game executable, but that didn't have any effect on my problem. Any other ideas?

Wow.. I know that is alpha but this game runs like shit... What i'm supposed to test here? Mid settings, 720p resolution and getting less than 15FPS.

You just focus on the support since you'll be able to kill him despite the healing. There is also a limit to how long you can heal or shield.

Yes I know, but once you're spotted, you have to try hard to juke on a slow crouch walk, and most players get wise to it quickly, and you're fucked if you run.

Always take the 10% movement speed buff, put 2 points in charge, use the leap to get across gaps, head for water since you don't leave tracks in it, and if you're still struggling get the rock throw, the knock back on it gives you time to get out of sight.

I played my first round as a Monster just now which I actually had a bit of fun with until the game randomly shut down on me and restarted it.

This is some shit.

The movement buff is completely unnecessary. It's incredibly easy to escape the hunters, people just aren't using their jumps effectively.

Get the feeding perk instead and put at least one point in charge to help move around quickly.

How to solve the balancing problems: Increase the jetpack recharge rate significantly, monster takes longer to feed. Oh it would also be nice to not have a hit-box the size of a small house as a hunter.

Won as monster, took 21 minutes. Man the hunters were salty as hell, bitching out their assault that makes League of Legend ragers look tame.

Was some cat and mouse for awhile until I got lvl 3, then then inevitable hunters hole up at the power core thing.

I had quite a bit of fun with the PC version but I don't know if I would pay full price for the game. I have my doubts on how long the game will last me with only 3 monsters.

I usually go for 15% ability cooldown. Especially as the Kraken, which gets hilarious if you get a 100% decrease from an animal. Agree with a charge point in goliath though, the game put me in for a bot controlled goliath and he didn't spec charge at all...I felt neutered.

When playing as the Monster, how do you deal with the dome that the Trapper sets up? Is it inescapable or can you disable it somehow?

UGH played a great round as monster, beating down the Hunters over and over, evolved to stage 3, kill both support and trapper and as i go for the assault + medic the medic survives on the tiniest slither of health and I get stuck on something and can't get away. They kill me.

Fucking bullshit game, hate this crap.

Inescapable. You just gotta make sure you have enough armor stored up if that happens. Do some damage, then once it's down gtfo.

So I having issues doing Lazarus cloak revives, I cloak to revive dead team mates but when I do the reviving the cloak stops working while I'm doing it, but after it works just fine and I don't get the count added...sometimes.
Am I doing it wrong?

Ok so playing with a gamepad on pc and can't figure out push to talk or sprint. Seems like it auto sprints? Supposedly it's l3 but doesn't seem to do much and I'm alaways lagging behind my team. Any ideas

Auto-sprint is enabled by default, at least for me. If you double tap the jump button you should do a jetpack sprint, maybe that's what your team mates are doing but it takes a chunk out of your fuel.

Kill/down trapper is the only way.
Or fooling the trapper. I managed to hide behind a rock with sneaking when he/she brought up the dome. Maybe thought that I managed to get outside the range, so he/she disabled the dome and continued pursuit.

Maybe I had a lot of luck on that one.
