DORITOS Presents: SONY vs. MICROSOFT 2014 THE HYPERBOWLLLLL

PS4
Bloodborne
The Order 1886
Tearaway Unfolded
Ratchet and Clank
Until Dawn
WiLD

IF you also include Sony exclusives and not just PS4 exclusives
Ys (also on VIta)
Dragon Quest Heroes (also on PS3)
Disgaea 5 (also on PS3)
Persona 5 (also on PS3)

Disturbing lack of Uncharted 4.

I'm shocked that the Sunset bundle has passed the Advanced Warfare and AC bundles even if it's the hourly. I think today was the first time I've even seen it chart.

Maybe it's because people know it's limited? It's so weird that a console that has been available to pre-order for months and seemingly no one wanted suddenly shoots up so highly for no real reason.

i had it in my cart but when it sold out i forgot that it didn't actually "reserve" the console.

and i think the reason sso is ahead of advanced warfare and Assasin creed is because it's cheaper....and it's white.

Dat day 1 hyperbowl DLC doe hNGGGG

Title change instantly made the thread better lol.

The amount of fanboyish "doom-and-gloom" talk in here is incredible. According to some, we should start a new thread of "should Sony start the next gen early?" whereas there are others that want to see MS burn in hell as though they personally attacked them....

That being said, I'd like to buy a front row ticket on the 50 yard line to this Hyperbowl please!

Hyperbowl or what, exactly (other than parity clause, which will be gone eventually anyway) is PS4 better for developers and gamers?

Since hwne has better multiplats become such a HUGE focus point for buying a system, I don't remember people ranting and raving saying that's why they should get a 360 over a PS3.

since difference became huge.

Superbowl actually. I can't speak for anyone else nor do I care to since people can do what the hell they want with their money and I'll do what the hell I want with mine. I play mostly multiplatform titles so the console that gives me the best multiplats is the one I want to succeed. This is why I rooted for the OG Xbox back in the day since the multiplatform titles were always better on it especially when it supported 480p while PS2 still only had interlaced games.

I'd prefer if everything came to PC that way if you were willing to spend the money you could dictate the experience you got from games instead of having it decided on for you like on consoles but that's unrealistic. Plus PC gaming has it's own set of bullshit to deal with as well. I prefer Sony's exclusives to MS' so that helps sway me but the majority of my gaming is done with multiplats so getting good PC versions and having the PS4 be a runaway success works in my favor.

I'm sure there will be good games on Xbone and MS will sell a good amount of consoles but I spent a lot of money on my HT gear and only have so much time to spend playing games so I would like to get the best experience I can. I'm sure I will miss out on a lot of great games but at the same time I already own enough great games that I will probably never have the time to play so it's no sweat off my balls.

Where are the bundles/discounts? Is Sony really so confident that they think November will be a cake walk when their competitor dropped the price by $50 with a game to boot? 2 of the biggest games of November are bundled with the Xbox One, CoD and Unity. Then there is the MCC. Still no announcement of the PS4 GTAV bundle for the USA. Heck even the Wii U will do well this month with the launch of Smash. I'm not saying the PS4 won't do well in November but I can't see it selling better than the Xbox One for the month.

Yes, just like why the X360 dominated(and still is) even though it was much weaker than the PS3 value wise. the PS4 will have a better library too. its just not this year.

Sony makes their money from games not consoles. So every console sale lost represents lost future revenue. Loosing November might not look like much but the point is to not to let your competition gain momentum. The News outlets would go crazy with the story of how the XB1 was gaining ground and was the best selling console this holiday season. Currently you can get an XB1 with 2 games for $349 or a PS4 with no games for $399. For the consumer who doesn't know or care about the hardware differences the XB1 appears as the better value. I expect Sony to offer new bundles within the next couple weeks

sony isn't making any money on the ps4 hardware ? Source ?

Well we saw the sales numbers of Forza Horizon 2 (latest NPD thread).
So sales wise.... FH2 was a flop, too. And it even launched on two consoles.

You mean a game that launched in the precious few remaining days of September? A game that barely had any time to actually sell in its release month?

Okay.

That's why FH2 was a flop.

It should still sell decent over time, but they had 5 days of tracking.

Good for you, wasn't aware we were talking about your gaming tastes!!
The point is that anytime you talk about a "better" library it is indeed fully and utterly subjective and arbitrary. Ergo, it can't really be "wrong" and someone can easily make comments based on the next year based on personal preference.

Microsoft definitely have better exclusives this fall with Forza Horizon 2, Sunset OverDrive and Halo MCC. Sony had Drive Club which was a flop with all it's issues that are still on going. They have LittleBigPlanet 3 which I think will not perform that well. And Guilty Gear Xrd which is really niche and also available on PS3.

However I still think MS even with their aggressive pricing and better exclusive line up will only outsell PS4 in November by a small margin and only in US. It's not a big deal. It's 2015 is what we should think about. Here is the 2015 retail line up as it stands.

Xbox One
Quantum Break
Fable Legends
Halo 5
Rise of The Tomb Raider (Time Exclusive)
Scalebound or Crackdown or Phantom Dust (I assume one of these will make it for 2015)

PS4
Bloodborne
The Order 1886
Tearaway Unfolded
Ratchet and Clank
Until Dawn
WiLD

Ys (also on VIta)
Dragon Quest Heroes (also on PS3)

Jesus Christ, if you're going to start a list war at least include all the games that are going to be released. You forgot U4 (among others) and are including games like WiLD and three MS exclusives that don't even have a release date.

I came here expecting delicious Taco Bell ™ Doritos™ Locos Tacos or the refreshing taste of Mountain Dew™ or the great Pope ™

I am now disappointed™

Admiral Woofington, we applaud you for your continued support of Doritos™ products, and are offering you a shiny, new, Doritos™ hat.

However, there's a catch. You must remove the Unhappy Man™ underneath it.

if they dont beat Sony in november and december by Feb, the X1 will be free

Ahahahahahahahah. Oh, GAF. This is why I love you.

It should still sell decent over time, but they had 5 days of tracking.

Five days isn't comparable to a full month, though. I agree that the specific genre it occupies, coupled with the fact that it's a console exclusive, doesn't do it any favors, though. Hopefully it tracks for October.

You make it sound like he was deliberately making Sony look bad, but tonally that's clearly not the case.

Bloodborne is the only exclusive that matters anyway, fact.

I'm pretty sure there are people here that definitely think PS will have a better library than XB and it's factual.

Maybe he/she means that there will be greater dedication and longevity on the PS4?

But again, MS has shown they can learn from their mistakes.

Original Xbox had a short lifespace, they fixed that with 360. 360 had awful hardware problems at the start, they fixed that with Slim and more importantly XB1.

They're building up their first party studios slowly but surely, and have openly spoken about how towards the end of the 360's life they relied too much on the same old franchises and that this gen they want to offer a bredth of different franchises throughout the gen.

I feel like (so far) they're keeping to their word. Killer Instinct, Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, Screamride, Quantum Break, Ori.

They should understand that Playstation got its momentum before the PS4 announcement, it's because Sony was rocking it with exclusives late in the PS3's life.

In North America Sony never did standard holiday bundles like MS always did. All they ever did was retailer exclusive Black Friday bundles in limited quantities.

We'll probably get a few of those.

Infamous SS bundled free at Bestbuy, Knack bundled free at Walmart, Killzone bundled free at Target etc.

So a bundle where you get a NEW game, which no one has played is < than a bundle where you get a HD remaster of a game almost everyone has played.

Also, why why do y'all even care about who wins?

I don't care which "side" he's on, if you're going to make lists they should be accurate and comprehensive. WiLD could very easily be a 2016 title, along with Crackdown, Scalebound and Phantom Dust. He's managed to leave out the biggest Sony release next year, Uncharted 4, as well as a number of indie games and MLB. I'm willing to bet there are missing X1 titles too. If you're going to compare, don't just list the games you think are significant.
And though I am going to play the hell out of Bloodborne, I'm more excited about No Man's Sky. Bloodborne is great, but I know what I'm getting there. NMS, on the other hand, has my imagination running wild. Just hope it makes 2015.

You're on a forum where people discuss gaming. Just thought I'd remind you.
