So you're saying that the people who don't would use it if it were Telephone Notation instead?

Gotcha; mizuumi saves my ass again. I love how people do this in their spare time just for the hell of it.

Mhm. I don't know if there's still a community for the game there; all my time spent with the game is with others at the arcade every month. I'd be down to play people on netplay for the PC version some time though.

People who don't use it won't use even if they used telephone notation.

The issue is with newer people or if someone uses the internet mostly through their phones and doesn't use their computers all that much. It's about which method they would pick up faster... telephone notation or numpad notation.

People keep bringing it up and I keep saying it again.. this does not apply to people in this thread because we all know how to use and read notations its all about how intuitive it is for a person STARTING out and how concise/specific the notations are in general. If you need to refer outside the notation (like say look up what a DP or chicken wing is) then that is a flawed notation system.

Do you guys think if the economy recovers and the job market gets great we'll see an influx of Tekken players for 7?
Give the West an impressive demo at the same time the East gets the arcade release. Use both to build hype for a full console release. That's how you get people back into Tekken again. I think.

I mean even on telephone pad the motions don't change that much.

I'd figure most people of moderate intelligence would be able to figure out what mistake they were making when all the motions are upside down.

It only takes a few seconds to adjust to numpad notation when it's shown to you via an image or whatnot.

Once the reference image is established, the numbers are absolute, which is convenient.

You guys are making me 8963214785 my eyes.

My reasoning is I was told "If you wanna play Akatsuki, go play as him in his game" and I said "FINE!" I think you're the only other person I know who has even tried it.

FTFY.

Only use Capcom notation

Anime guys like The Rock use 360 and 720 too. Because they refer to degree notation which is an international standard.

I personally hate number notation, even back in the day when I was really into Soul Calibur. Seeing a string of digits to represent movement commands is terrible. I much prefer QCF, DF, SRK, ect.

I've been playing Blitzkampf for a good 5 years or so now. If anything, for me it was, "oh my god, Akatsuki is in another game!" After experiencing his fate in UNIEL, I've turned to telling people the same thing. Ironically I don't even play him in Blitzkampf.

so you're saying that people who use charge characters can't do it

Don't you dare besmirch The Rock's name by saying he's anime you goddamned jabroni.

I don't care what anyone says, the worst notation of all time is the actual button labels. I saw an MK9 video that had some nice combos in it, and they went to the trouble of transcribing it, but everything was all square triangle cross circle bullshit.

The only real problem in Smash lexicon is that there's ten year olds everywhere who want to be behind the next big thing. As a result, you get some really wacky ass names, especially with the post Melee games.

Imagine that I knew about the large majority of the techniques in Brawl a long time ago but couldn't participate in conversations about them because I didn't know what was discovered and what wasn't. On top of this, while I'm calling things as I see them (oh so that's a pivot standing B/turn around special/pivot aerial), people are throwing shit like "Wavebouncing" and "Reverse Aerial Rush" at me.

This reminds me of some blogs on eventscrubs where JWong classified characetrs as defensive, aggressive and "Balance Rush". Why, Justin, why? I've actually had to experience people using that "terminology".

;__;

Do the devs have a twitter by any chance? I wanna bug them.

I liked the return to neutral part.

Would have been awkward if I kept staring upward.

I think this pretty much supports my point RE: context. People bringing up moves with rarely used inputs kind of further undermines that idea...

...that numpad notation is unintuitive. thanks enzo

brah, this is on the right hand side of the keyboard. The directional inputs on a game controller is on the left hand side. WTF.

oh shit

New VF revision? VF 5 revision? Huh
My 2c:
while we don't know the scope of the revision it historically would be less like SSFIV->AE and more like AE->ver2012

it is incredibly unlikely that console versions of FS will be updated with revision B. don't hold your breath. if we ever get this, it'll be on PC.

so here's the good news:
right now, someone is sitting at a computer getting paid by SEGA to work on VF. not pachinko VF, not mobile f2p vf, but real VF. my VF.

there are many sega franchises which aren't so lucky.
