Not to me. He's waiting for you to hang yourself and then responding. I mean, I guess it's footsies in the sense that you have to understand the spacing of it all but it's not actually controlling space. He's not preventing you from coming in or coming at you with his buttons to open you up.

I'd need to go back and watch a few vids to point out examples but most of the times I've seen Smug lose were either A) Pressured him so his defense crumbled or B) playing back and forth with him while avoiding the situations you let Smug open you up with a counterpoke.

I guess the biggest way to point out the difference is the play implored by Fuudo vs Snake Eyes at Evo this year in their match. That's controlling space in every sense of the word.

I'm reminded of one of the best sf4 footsie matches of alex valle vs daigo at revelations? I think it was. A couple of years ago.

a lot of baiting cr.mk to punish with cr. rh so you can close space or run oki. I think it's the same thing.

If you're getting the Wii U version I'd just wait and unlock them there since you can only transfer a custom character slot that you made on the 3DS and not all the moves at once. > . <

He does that. He also presses forward with fwd HP, cr mp, cr mk and mixing it up with ducking.

I'm not seeing the argument here. Fuudo is just better at it.

Really sad to see Mr. Wizard aka Mr. McRib abuse his power again to mold the FGC the way he likes it.

So glad Mike Watson put Mr. McRib on blast last week. Clearly Mr. McRib set it off by getting involved in the Daigo going to Moment 37 event which SADLY MADCATZ & MARKMAN buckled to.

Oh well no big deal hopefully Super Dojo lives on everyone knows that Mondo was the real life blood of LevelUp Live doing all the hard work. I'm sure him and Watson will keep killing it!

I recall Smug putting F+HP out as a frame trap on wake-up midscreen more than anything. He times it well so anyone that presses a button gets hit for big damage.

I'll have to find videos later to point it all out. Hopefully when I get some free time.

Uhhh, how is that not controlling space?

I cited Smug's corner game as an example. far/forward fierce/st. roundhouse is great for conditioning people in the corner, allowing Dud's to get in and apply pressure with grab or cr. lk. cr. mk gets to do work and and st. mk if they try to jump out. I've seen him forgo the mixup after a KD with, say, cr, MK, to continue to apply pressure to them in that situation. That's smart corner control and I'd consider a corner a space. Duds can't zone in the neutral due to stubby normals like Immort4l said, but that doesn't mean Smug doesn't try and control space when the character allows - in the corner.
 
Shouta, I don't get how smug is not playing footsies with dudley. In your mind, how should he be playing footsies properly with dudley? Who plays a footsie based one?
 
I already beat TLOU but didn't play the DLC, traded it in for great value (bought for $40 got $33 for it).

I got Shadow of Mordor for $40 and traded it in at Best Buy for $38.


The Best Buy Gamer's Unlock membership is the truth. That truly was the deal of the century. It's too bad GGXrd isn't giving the $10 coupon though.
