Is it a good port?

You got it right. 3 $20 sales needed to match 1 $60 sale.Really? So since it's so cheap it has to be doing like twice the sales numbers of full price titles?
Or am I getting that wrong?
Stuff like this makes me really happy... I'm glad to see people putting their money where their mouth is. Hopefully it will show developers that exclusivity is pointless, and bring more games to PC. It's a serious audience that spends serious dough on their games, so there's no point in not catering to them.

SEGA, so VC4 on PS4, XBONE and PC right? Of course, the demo comes with VC2/3 HD collection.![]()

- Dragon Force (they should just make a new one, PC gamers would eat it up)
So part of the secret to sega's digital distribution strategy has been that they'vd been rereleasing their ps2 sega ages remakes. Nights, for example, was a sega ages remake even though it wasnt branded with sega ages when released on the ps2.
That said, sega already made a sega ages remake of dragon force. All they need to do is port and translate it.
I didn't realize that. I'd love to see the Sega Ages version of the first Panzer Dragoon on Steam. Hell, they'd probably only need to translate some menu text.So part of the secret to sega's digital distribution strategy has been that they'vd been rereleasing their ps2 sega ages remakes. How do you get the grid boxes so close together?
Try putting the disc in, it might appear on Steam.

Well, good. More games coming.
Too bad they'll now do too the equation PC=steam.
Good.
Now do Jet Set Radio Future.
Wow didn't realize they'd dobe such a good job. Will definately double dip on PC.
10% discount, so $17.99 on Steam. Lowest was about $14 on GMG.How much was this game prior to launch?
Looks like Green Man Gaming with coupon NOVEMB-ERGMGX-20XOFFIf I wanted to buy it, where could I get it cheapest ? Steam itself or elsewhere ?
I was not interested on account of the artstyle, but reading so many good things and seeing Durante himself make an OP..it stirred some desire to try it out.

Then it wouldn't happen, because SEGA and other big Japanese publishers are extremely reluctant to sell their games to Japanese players through Steam. Which is dumb, too, since Steam even over there is the biggest digital-distribution client overall, and has good potential for growth should Valve and other companies play ball.Yesin Japan only
Should PC sales exceed and make a greater profit than western and Japanese sales of the PS3 original, they could skip VC2 & 3 for the moment and make VC4 (still unsure how they can market 2 without upsetting a lot of people). A game set in Fhirald where you play as Radi Jaeger and former citizens turned militia, starting an insurrection against the Empire for independence? Count me in.Now make next-gen Valkyria Chronicles 4.
Codename S.T.E.A.M. isn't coming to PC, sadly (notice the irony), but I hope VC's sales can make way for ports of the Sakura Wars games that came before it, as well as more games like this from Japanese and western developers.i hope this kicks off a strat/rpg fad. that would be good.
One part of SEGA's learning, just as another (Okunari and M2 for example) has. Meanwhile, the Shining team at SoJ keeps digging themselves into a hole of moe pandering, which I think is a waste of the recent games' battle systems that build on VC's mechanics. SEGA is not one monolith, it's a collection of different factions that have warred against one another since the mid-'80s.Sega is so clueless. Hopefully they're learning.
Hear hear. That the company can let this rot nearly to death and then perhaps revive the franchise in one blow is amazing, but they need to follow through appropriately. Focusing on PC sales in the West + Vita ports for Japanese gamers could do the trick. But what I really really want Sega to understand is that Valkyria Chronicles is the best thing their internal development had going for the entirety of the past decade, and that they should give it another try.
And maybe, this time around, do not torpedo the franchise by focusing exclusively on Japan, putting it on a platform which is dead everywhere else, and trying to catch a ride on the monster hunter gravy train.
It'd be a good exercise to show what the new porting team can do with older games. Porting the GC version with high-quality music + Steam goodies would work out nicely.Obviously the next step is Skies of Arcadia, guys.
Both this and ChromeHounds would sell well because of the From Software connection, which might lead to ports of their other games like Armored Core.Otogi 1 & 2 is seriously what I really want on Steam. No BC with 360 so not a lot of people can even play it atm.
True indeed. I wouldn't call this port amazing so much as it gets the job done, performs well for most, and carries out the essentials without much issue. VC was never going to have tons of customizable options due to its art-style, so the port itself will seem workmanlike as a result.Though some people are having crashing issues.
As long as Tony Taka and his merry men rule the Shining IP with an iron fist, the former will not happen. SFIII absolutely blows apart the more recent franchise games, and so they felt the best way to market Shining Ark was to attack foreign fans' videos and YouTube accounts in order to erase the best Shining from history. Which they failed to do, and now I wonder what the hell they were thinking. Because SoJ never apologizes for anything unless the entire global corporation is endangered (aka when the Saturn failed hard), getting the Shining team off its high horse is out of reach for now.- Shining Force 3 (how awesome would a port of the entire SF3 trilogy be?)

What.I'm not happy about Sega being happy (90's Nintendo fanboy) but I bought the game last week (and I had also bought the PS3 version when it was released, oh and the PSP VC2).
But dammit Sega, don't be happy because I give you money!
Extremely good. Arbitrary resolution and frame rate up to 120 FPS, very optimized.

Haven't had an optical media drive in years!
Vanquish and Yakuza next please.

Good. Lets see Vanquish and Bayonetta.
I checked once and saw that it had 5k concurrents, which didn't strike me as that amazing, but I'm glad they think it's doing well.
It's not really a sit down and plow through kind of game, it's not even online, so why would concurrents matter? It's a game broken down into bite-sized missions that makes it easy to pick up and play. In retrospect, it's not all that surprising the series moved to a portable.
So I am guessing the game has already beat the PS3 versions revenue?
Apparently VC only sold 33k during its launch in the US?
Current Peak of COD AW players today - 28k
So thats ATLEAST 28k ppl who bought the game at 60$ a pop. If VC had made more money than this then it really did top the PS3 version.
