I want Skies of Arcadia.
SEGA PLEASE!

Nah it sold over 1,000,000 WW. That was just the initial launch. Word of mouth and such and a price cut got it some really good sales.
Now make next-gen Valkyria Chronicles 4.
Isnt a good portion of that 1m from Japan? I feel as far as the West is concerned I think the PC version will easily top PS3 soon enough.
I cant even remember the last time a Japanese Sega game topped charts like this. Sonic Gen? Binary Domain? Sonic Racing?
I still can't wrap my head around the decision to make the series PSP exclusive with the sequels. It's like they didn't want it to succeed.

But their adventures are over. Why stick with the past when the future points to Fhirald?!can sega pls retcon VC2 &3 to "IT WAS ALL A DREAAAAAAAAAAM" realm and continue the adventures of welkin and alicia

2 and 3 will be honored as gaiden games, which is basically what they've become anyway. A new VC must return to 1's length and scale.
I know just the thing. Make a new game with the scale and engine of VC1 and in the same setting, but an entirely different part of the front. Call it Valkyria Chronicles II. (See what I did there? Genius!)But their adventures are over. Why stick with the past when the future points to Fhirald?!

People would scoff at a 6 year old port at nearly full price.Would this game have sold as well if it was $40? I know it's not new but it is new to those who didn't play it on PS3, it's almost priced like a smaller "PSN" game.

They never should have numbered the games. Now all you people want to do is joke about it!I know just the thing. Make a new game with the scale and engine of VC1 and in the same setting, but an entirely different part of the front. Call it Valkyria Chronicles II. (See what I did there? Genius!)
Not to mention a drastic shift in tech and strategy. How might chariots or horses play compared to tanks? What kinds of missions could be designed around bow, sword, halberd, and javelin? Can your team members hear orders effectively through semaphore (a production concept for VC) and other archaic methods of communication? I think playing from the Darcsen side would also force the developers to come up with very interesting characters, both physically and mentally; everyone looking the same wouldn't bode well artistically.I still think they could do Valkyria Chronicles 4 and set it during the Darcsen Calamity. It's pretty interesting lore and I think it would work well, especially if they put you on the Darcsen side.

Glad to see it doing well. Amazing game. Wish the series wasn't dead.
Now that Sega owns Atlus, I admit I would be intrigued if Atlus were to make a VC game.

YOU DO realize that the Steam Top Sellers list is based on revenue, right?

Good. Lets see Vanquish
It sold pretty well the second printing on the PS3, which was $40 IIRC. The initial run did poorly.
That doesn't really refute his point, however. One of the benefits valve preaches to indies of aggressive pricing is volume sales, which is what Wonko is talking about.
I.E. selling 10 copies at $40 is not the same as selling 100 copies at $20.
Its safe to say VC1 sold the best of its franchise by far right? I loved it back in 2008 I cant believe the sequels were not only PSP only but VC3 never got out of Japan. Talk about a lack of ambition....
No one wants that trash. Unless you meant sales, in which case... A Wii U exclusive ain't selling regardless. What about Sonic Boom, Sega?

Few things make me as angry as SEGA's willingness to run Valkyria Chronicles to the ground. Ugh.
My whole thing is that the warped perception doesn't really mean much since it was printing more money than any game on Steam at one point.
