Sega very happy with Valkyria Chronicles' Steam launch

Also reminds me how Panzer Dragoon is one of the franchises around without a weak entry. Yukio Futatsugi :bow

Is this true? Wow.

Also, there was the recent N-B financial statement which seemed to imply that the PC version sold over 900k in the first half of their financial year.

Yeah, it had around 80k at its launch. Don't recall any other '14 title with the same numbers.

Dark Souls II had the largest concurrent playerbase of any game launched on Steam in 2014. If that doesn't tell you that ARPGs are in high demand by the PC demographic, I don't know what does.

Yeah that can be true. But, do they specifically want Dragon's Dogma? I mean you go up to someone who uses Steam and plays a lot of Dark Souls and ask him "hey do you want Dragon's Dogma?" Would they really react to it?

What Capcom game isn't on PC?

Capcom titles missing from Steam off the top of my head:

SF3 Third Strike: Online Edition
Darkstalkers Resurrection
Dragon's Dogma
Dead Rising 1
God Hand
Okami
Viewtiful Joe
Any handheld game (Ace Attorney, for instance)

There's probably more

Thank you PC users for supporting this great series.
Ya know, if it hadn't come out on Steam, I was still planning on getting it for PS3 at some point, but it would have probably been a used copy.

Feels great knowing that I not only get an awesome, improved version of the game that isn't tied to owning a specific console, but that I also got to play a part in another Japanese PC port success story. Long may it continue. :)

Probably not, but of all the communities out there, I find the PC community really push games around. I ended up getting Valkyria Chronicles with no knowledge of it initially, but in large part thanks to the many people that explained what it was and why I'd probably like it, along with games to compare it too.

Totally worth it. So I'm sure other games can have the same success. Come to think of it, many of my purchases follow a similar pattern.

I hope this encourages them to make a Valkyria Chronicles 4 on consoles.

Hell I'll just be happy with VC3 port, why am I getting ahead of myself.

Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown

C'mon Sega, make it happen. We need more fighters on PC. Screw Vanquish and Bayonetta (sorry guys).

I'm thrilled that it's done well for them- I can't think of very many games that deserve success as much as VC. Keep up the PC support, Sega!

Otogi 1 & 2 is seriously what I really want on Steam. No BC with 360 so not a lot of people can even play it atm.

SEGA can you please making a next gen VC4 please! Its the only worthwhile thing you have right now (ignoring Atlus) that has a chance of being localised here.

It is an absolutely charming and amazing title. When the series got relegated to shitbox handhelds that didn't sell outside of Japan that couldn't do the original art any justice the series fell by the wayside sales wise and interest wise for me.
Meh, handhelds rock and now I want to buy the sequels since I'm enjoying this.

If we are talking ports: Skies of Arcadia, SMT Nocturne, and SMT1&2 please.

I'm just happy VC is doing well. It's a really good game.

I specifically do. Aside from performance, I've heard nothing but good things about the game. But I missed it when it came out and have no interest in keeping my PS3 on life support.

Glad to hear it. Japanese publishers and devs need to support PC globally as theyre really missing out on a lot of potential sales, particularly for quirkier titles.

Might have to double dip this must look lovely in higher resolution.

I have a feeling Ace Attorney would sell hilariously well to the PC crowd.

I'm sure it would as well.

I would love to see loads of handheld games make their way to PC. I don't really mind if I have to play using a small window.

I feel like those libraries are very untapped for porting potential. 999, for instance, would sell extraordinarily well on PC.
