Nut King Call would need more expansion than I am a Rock. All we know is that it can break people apart like Sticky Fingers (Zipper Man) so you would need to come up with a complete move set from only that. Born This Way might work though, you could do something interesting with using the open/close gimmick for a trap based fighter. And King Nothing seems like a support stand at this point. We'd probably see Abbacchio before Norisuke.

This all being said, CC2 and Bamco has expressed interest in a sequel, considering the game did fairly well.
Also, the game feels slow, but it's no slower than SF4, especially once you know what you are doing. It ain't an anime fighter tho, and a lot of people were expecting that.

Pre patch could be argued. The game had so many problems and glitches that, while fun, made some matches unbearable.
The first patch prevented it from staying like that, although it took a major patch and not taking away TK stuff (wtf did you even do that for Namco Bandai?) to make it decent.
30 FPS was shit idea though.

It was a good game, post-patches. Just sorta unpolished and some weird decisions made here and there, so a lot of people weren't really willing to give it a chance.
Me, I loved it, and I hope a sequel fixes some of the issues I had. (Like the controls feeling a bit clunky, some characters feeling way too limited, and obviously 30fps why was that a thing.)
And of course, a story mode on the same level as Naruto Storm's is a must. Like seriously why was that not in the game to begin with, to hell with those stupid text slides.

We should be seeing it sometime this month so Im pretty excited.
I love how blunt they were, since you'd usually see a "we do not comment on rumors at this time" response.
In any case, hoping we'll hear about it soon. Hopefully, Namco will do what they did with ASB & have it both be on PSN & have a limited physical run...though maybe do a better job at translating stuff/not have as silly name replacements.

I haven't been able to purchase the first installment at the moment, but I enjoyed what little footage I've seen. I'm hopeful a current-gen version will be announced as well!
I think a good chance on PS4.
