anyways, don't most people play fighters on Sony systems unless it's exclusive? i only know one guy who plays any kind of fighters and he always bought them on his playstation.

KI is designed for Western sensibilities.

SF4 at its height was played more on X360 I believe because of lower input lag + better online service at the time, it was also the platform of choice for many competitions.

I think it would be kinda cool to see a Japanese developer helping a fellow Japanese console maker. I remember the golden age when Sony had great relationships in the land of the rising sun such as Squaresoft. It would definitely shake things up!

I see a Playstation vs Capcom for PS4 funded by Sony, it would be their Tatsunoko/Brawl/KI/DR3/MH3/MH4.

Itsuno as director, Ono as producer, developed by the UMVC3 team, buffed USFIV/SFxT/UMVC3 engine, characters rehashed from both UMVC3, USFIV, SFxT, lessons and movelist learned from PS Battle Royale, SFxT, UMVC3,Tatsunoko vs Capcom to include new PS characters.

This time they should get rights to include Cloud, Sephirot, Lara, Crash, Solid Snake and a couple of guys from Tekken plus some Capcom characters from the crossovers and Sony characters from Battle Royale and SFxT.

Thanks to the console market share + money hat Capcom wouldn't care for MS sales (specially in Japan) and it may even have an arcade release. Capcom may rehash engine and characters for SFV and possible future Darkstalkers.

I hope not. The larger the playerbase the better.

How? When? I thought the game hasn't been announced yet. Who knows if it's even in development right now.

To anyone saying this would not be a big deal you obviously do not follow the fighting game community. I have been thinking SFV would be exclusive for a while and I have my reasons for thinking so but I am not sure where it will wind up. If it was to be a PS4 exclusive that automatically sells systems and fight sticks to the competitive scene and there are more than you could possibly imagine worldwide. Lets say it is a PS4 Exclusive .... you automatically get system sales to all of the major events and the minors.

One of my reasons for thinking this is the fact that KI will definitely be at EVO for a while and that is an XB1 exclusive I am sure Sony wants their machine represented with something exclusive at EVO as well. That hardcore community will buy thousands of machines for a single game. Yes they have GG but the SF,Smash and MK numbers will make those seem infinitesimal.

I love Street Fighter to death but:

1- Most people in the competitive scene will probably already have a PS4.

2- Profits from selling sticks are negligible since they sell so few.

3- Minors and majors system sales are even more negligible than sticks.

4- I doubt Sony gives a f**k about their machine being represented at EVO. And even if it the game isn't a PS4 exclusive, it's likely PS4s would be used at EVO since it's the more powerful machine.

I seriously hope Street Fighter 5 isn't a PS4 exclusive, especially when it's not a case like Bayo 2 where the game wouldn't exist otherwise. I have a PS4 but I play SF on my PC.

If it's an spin-off or another series (Darkstalkers, for example) is fine for me, but not SF.

Exclusivity would be a huge win for sony as the street fighter brand is still very strong. I still cannot see it happen due to all the money that wouldn't be left on the table by Capcom. I would imagine they would want a Xbox One, PS4, PC, iOS / Andriod release to reach all audiences.

Maybe there's some exclusive content like stages or costumes... But full on exclusive... Not sure why they would agree to losing money.

PC + PS4 doesn't make it not the biggest fighting game on one console. Bulk of TF sales I'm sure were on XB1, this is a big deal, people downplaying it are probably a bit salty.

More than likely just a timed deal anyway, as there will be tons of SF5 iterations judging from past practice. Still, it's a big marketing deal between Sony/Capcom with hopefully more to come. I still want to see a proper DMC5 Cap!

I dunno. I had SF4, AE and Ultra all on PC and I never fail to find a fight when I want a quick online blast.

I'm sure it is a much smaller presence, and maybe the mystical "FGC" aren't on PC, but a bunch of people do still play the game on it.

I actually like and prefer having games that are (at least console) exclusive. It's a shame for anyone hoping to get it on Xbox though, especially since the only other big nexgen FG so far, KI, was exclusive there. Guilty Gear is just PS, right? But then that had a PS3 version anyway.
