I hve just notice that the game is not running in 16:9 ratio. I hate those black bar on my screen :/
Yep. Definitely a big achievement for the next-gen consoles.
I have no problem with somebody not liking it. But saying things like the game is like Heavy Rain or just another David Cage game is just pure hyperbolic shit posting IMO. They are posts that have no use other than to get a rise out of people and it works so people do it anyway for whatever reason then leave the thread just so they can shit it up and make it hard to have any real discussion about any genuine criticisms. Its not endemic to threads about this game but it is annoying nonetheless.I think you guys just have to stop reacting to those that don't like it. It looks great for me but maybe not to others. The whole 'The Order threads gets hate from everyone' is getting old and is not even true at all. So just stop quoting the negative stuff, its not worth it.
Anyway. Personally I can't wait to play this, the soundtrack and the mix of gameplay and cinematics makes it very immersive. Can't wait
why are some people getting so salty
there's nothing wrong with criticising games like these which are basically just tech demos, ryse got the same treatment, and everyone was okay with it then.
He's referring to the apparent lack of depth in the core gameplay mechanics(for which Ruse was rightfully roasted long before it hit the shelves), not the similarity of genre. The comparison is apt.ryse is a melee focus game, the order is not.
yeah lets just focus on this negative preview and ignore the positives sigh
Which are the positive previews? Sorry, GC is my go to source. Tried and tested "say it as it is" I was reading the Metro on teh way to work, saw thread, posted it. Sorry to piss on your cornflakes, there there.
Surprised the newspaper paid for him to go to Vegas when they don't provide a proof reader for his work.
Ign, game informer and gametrailers are the most prominent ones that gave very good previews (ign and gt were pretty lukewarm on the previous demo build iirc), they were especially complimentary of the gameplay and the weapons. Some from smaller sites were pretty positive too (i can only remember psu at the moment and the sixth axis) and gaf impressions from people who have played the game at psx have all been pretty positive.

I'd trust my missus to reverse park before I trust an IGN review.

I dont get it you do know others watch the vid and play the demo correct?Out of 36 minutes, only about 5 the player truly has control over the gameplay. Seems more like an interactive movie than a game.

Ok what about several other including gaf?I'd trust my missus to reverse park before I trust an IGN review.
Ha ha, yeah, I do notice that the Metro seems to be without a proof reader on payroll.
Do you really thinking that the order is a tech demo on the level of Ryse? A game which you could press the wrong button and STILL succeed? Come on people what is next comparing the Order to Forza Horizon?

I said in one of my earlier posts that Metro are extra harsh on games that appear to be style over substance. They hated Ryse for instance, where I quite enjoyed it for what it is.
I've never plaayed it and niether has almost all of gaf. I'm only going to read an article by someone that has played it, not a post by someone that hasn't but wants it to be good.
and what?shooting things is not the same as doing QTE in every combat situationAnd?
there really isn´t that much "gameplay" in this demo..
That's a QTE, dawg. Just a more subtle and less intrusive one.I think they're awesome, so smooth and perfectly implemented, but why the QTE, why not a simple "press triangle at the right time to counter attack"? This gif in particular remember me one of Komaki's counter in Yakuza, you press a combination of buttons at the right time and Kazuma does mor or less what Galahad is doing there, with no QTE. What they did feels like a mix of God of War and TLOU, it slows down the action and it feels not necessary because it's something they could easily do without a QTE.
Thats find I dont agreed, what people consider game play varies different for some reasons.
Lockpicking, hacking, sniping, gun battles and stealth is all gameplay.
So it's a video game. What I ment is that there are only a couple moments when the player is totally in control of the action. Yes you have control of the player almost the entire time, but most of it is highly scripted to the point where you have no choice but tondo exactly what the devs want you to or else you'll see a game over screen.
Sure your picking locks and hacking, but its not like you have a choice of what/when to lock pick/hack. Yes you are sniping, but you have no choice but to use that exact gun at that exact moment and shoot those enemies.
This is why I said its like an interactive movie. Yes you have some control over your character, but the action is dictated to you as opposed to you dictating the action.

Why is The Order getting still negative opinions about the same old shit, while most updated feedback about gameplay is very positive, and the game looks undeniably amazing?
Yes, you guessed it. Fanboyism. If this was on Xbox One this would be the most anticipated game of the year, but hey, haters gonna hate.
