Driveclub weather update out NOW. laawwwwwd.gif

Glad everyone is coming back to this game as I think this is the best racer I've played in a very long time. The disk hasn't left my ps4 since it came out because I can't get enough of it. Lol, I still haven't finished the single player tour due to being a new dad, but hopefully I'll finish it soon so I can hop online and play with you all.
 
I still don't think this is a very good racing game but damn if it ain't pretty. Some of the weather looks a little funky at times but when it hits it really shines.

Not too single you out, because you are certainly not alone or first, but this is pretty much how every negative remark about this game is portrayed:

"I haven't played it, but I don't like it" and it is like this for other games too, it's just toxic.
 
As a massive racing game fan this is the first thing I've seen on PS4 that makes me regret selling mine... I need a lottery win right now (or GT7 to turn up!) to help me justify plonking the dough down again!
 
SWEET GLORY!! Amazon US has this game on sale for $34.99. I had to jump on it. I've been waiting for a price drop seeing as the entire online aspect appeared to be broken. Now with that weather update and some new content coming there's no reason not to get it at that price.

The weather effects in DriveClub are, without a doubt, some of the most realistic we've seen in any game to date. Combining these effects with the already excellent lighting model and realistic materials elevates Evolution's racer to the top of the pack from a visual perspective and in combination with the other features added to the game, it definitely deserves another look.

In a declining genre where open world sandbox gameplay comes as standard with virtually every racing title, it actually feels rather refreshing to return to a classic track-based game like DriveClub. We had a soft spot for the Evolution racer since our pre-launch testing (before things went horribly wrong) and this stunning dynamic weather patch in combination with the other new features adds a new sheen of polish and a definite wow factor. Man, I really want to play this with the weather. My budget is too tight right now for xmas though. :(

I wouldn't mind that plus edition to try it out.

I wish you could set up events by yourself. Take your favourite track, weather condition and daytime. If you want to drive with a friend, make it password protected or invite only etc... That would be awesome.

Great support, now that the weather is implemented, I wonder if they have enough juice to improve the texture filtering and give one more pass of AA. It's already the best looking game out now, but these two bits will extend it even more-so.

Yeah, when it's raining an awd car is priceless. The AMG GT is a bit too unstable imo, can't believe it handles like this. However, it's not out yet, so I guess the handling was just speculation from Evolution.

That sounds great. Replay mode is also important. So many scenes I wish I could watch from a different angle...

When's the next update? WHEN'S THE NEXT UPDATE?!?

Being able to hear the windscreen wipers is an odd thing to look forward to, but I think it'll add to the immersion tenfold, along with hearing rain on the windows. If you can just sit in your car at idle and listen to the rain fall on the car, it will be borderline magical.
 
I used to avoid the india tracks in this, but now their some of the most visually appealing with the weather effects on, simply stunning.

Yes, I am also really passionate about the prospects of that update. Soony is just never soon enough... I guess I'm pathologically impatient. Then again Sony sits on stuff like Journey PS4 and refuses to give us a release date despite the game's PEGI rating more than a week ago. Soony is a painful concept.
 
Why do they removed the new tracks lobbys? And why there isn't weather lobbys for teams?
They really should add more variety

I sincerely hope it's not two weeks away. If it's a bug as they say then it's essentially hotifx territory which should be rectified within a few days. Releasing this content with basically no sound is another big oversight by Evolution and I'll be disappointed if it takes that long to fix. I'm tired of waiting for the game to iron out glaring flaws to be honest. If the core gameplay wasn't so good I would have turfed it ages ago.
 
This thread can be hypnotic. I've seen a zillion weather gifs and videos, I own the game and have played like 16 hours the past two days, and still I am browsing this thread trying to see people's latest visual miracles
 
I just need that replay patch to drop.

Prior to this awesomeness below, i just love that when the car isnt moving, the wiper wipes the rain and they fall down but as soon as he guns it, the wind starts pushing them towards the aerodynamic flow of the bonnet untill the wind becomes strong enough to push the rain drops all over the screen.

Unlock Zonda
Go to settings
Turn HUD opacity to 0
Select norway time trial
Set time to midnight with heavy precipitation and storms
PREPARE TO DIE BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE SHIT

I honestly haven't done a full race in this game in a while, and I never use cockpit view. Either way, even though I suck, this shit is so beautiful it is fun.

That is just astounding.

I was just think, what we need here is a Passenger Seat Cam.

A kind of two player. But you're sat in the passenger seat of a player's car of your choosing and are able to just look out of the window and enjoy the sights.

I suppose it would have to be in Online mode only, no Photo Mode. But I can imagine that getting a load of use.

I don't even really like LIKE racing games and whenever possible I prefer to play alone but the pics/gifs in here are really tempting me to buy Driveclub........... damn they're incredible looking.
 
I'm getting this tomorrow, can't wait.

It's very nice to hear that handling is good.

Just imagine Motorstorm in this engine....
