The stock is actually blurred, but since it is just a flat gaussian it is uniform throughout the blurred parts. Bokeh has a higher circle of confusion the fruther it moves from the focal distance.

Unfortunately the Kojima Station footage has some washed out colors due to the stream quality and what not. Or the blacks are crushed in the PS4 footage there. Hard to tell which is the intended image.

Edit: the fact that I notice and care about this stuff is sometimes so bizarre when I think about it in a disembodied way.

Shadows look a lot better, didn't realize it was like that on the PS4.

From the comments of the youtube video, these are the settings:

Window Mode
Resolution
Display
Vsync
Frame Rate
Model Detail
Texture
Texture Tearing
Shadows
Lights
Screen Tearing
Ambient Occlusion
Effects

Edit:
YESSSS the button promotes are keyboard letters and not 360 controller buttons!!! YESSS!!! :D
Kojima is a perfectionist.... :D

Instant Alt-tabbing, automatic low-latency triple buffered V-sync, no issues getting games to work with custom resolutions/frequencies.

I use it for basically every game.

Does it matter if you enable or disable VSync in game or Nvidia control panel when using borderless window? What about Riva Tuner?

Only just seen everything. The bitrate and quality of the stream makes it hard to make comparisons. The DOF could be a great improvement, but it is too hard to tell on the stream. AO is pretty crap in my opinion, but that can probably be worked around I'm sure. Options are looking nice. Would have been nice to have a bit more fine adjustments rather than low med high etc, but little additions such as borderless and on the fly control switching are brilliant additions.

Edit - ok it's bokeh and looks like it makes a very significant difference

You should normally disable any in-game stuff, it might produce additional latency.

Any drawbacks?
Slightly lower performance than "real" fullscreen modes (probably <=2% on a modern system).
Edit: oh, and going by the above, multi-GPU issues. I never go multi-GPU for a reason. No, make that many reasons :p

Yes, but aero is also what gives you the automatic low-latency triple buffering/v-sync.
Can you get rid of aero and maintain desktop composition (no fancy alpha, gaussian, and 3d, but still the synced frames)?
Likewise, does that mean that desktop composition does not exist on windows 8 and above? (the nice benefits of borderless fullscreen)

This looks superb. Still don't have a PS3 but I'll be very glad to get this on PC. Hopefully I can hold out for Bloodborne before I need to pick one up and in the process maybe save a couple bucks.

Looks like they did a nice job on Ground Zeroes, nothing too surprising but nice to see.

Personally, I plan to keep Screen Tearing on Ultra High. I want my game to look like it was assaulted by a tiger.

My Japanese is shit, but to me the katakana for this says "Screen Filtering". Otherwise it would be saying "Screen Fill Tearing", which...I don't think is a thing.

Edit: Actually, "Texture Tearing" makes it clear someone mistook "Filtering" for "Tearing" by completely dropping the "Fil" part.

You sure it ain't Screenu Filteringuru? The capcom tech PDF for painty raid mentioned the technique a while back.

I can't play this until the new year, but I'm looking forward to it very much :)
Mouse aiming is still something I'm not used to, when it comes to ports like this - somehow I still expect RE4 first port quality.

Do we have a price yet? German Steam Store has none..

You're right, it's Screen Filtering in the English version.

Wish we could get that entire section translated when they are going over the options menu.

In prior Japanese games the AF settings were also set to Extra High, rather than the x4, x8, x16 Antisotropic standard.

All the settings of note are already translated: http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/ar...d-v-ground-zeroes-worlds-first-pc-screenshots

Decided to put the translation into image form, better settings menu than I expected, I hope my 680 is fine for this game.

Ah, that's helpful. Just noticed in the main menu section there seems to be a lot more random particles floating around compared to other versions. Not bad if that translates into the game as well

I'd need to take another look at the console versions to double check that, but yeah, will be interesting to see subtle differences like that

6 days left, I can't contain it.

Also, Robert keeps making me more anxious.

Oh, he also posted more on the forums.

"There is no borderless windowed mode"

So it won't have the benefits Durante listed? How does Fullscreen borderless differ?

It sounds like there's no full mouse functionality in menus?

What the fuck? For a moment there, I thought this was actually going to be a good PC port.

So far from what I've gathered from this game on PC, that's really the only thing I can nitpick about. Very very minor to be honest.

Yeah, you're not wrong - it is, overall, quite a minor thing.

Still, I feel like even if a game requires a controller to actually play, the ability to use a mouse in the menus seems a very simple and basic thing to support - especially if said game otherwise supports the full use of mouse and keyboard in game.
