You might know me, you might not, but my name's Patrick Klepek, and I'm the newest addition to the Kotaku family. I've been writing about video games in various forms since I was 14-years-old, and spent most of the past four years as the news (and horror) editor at Giant Bomb.

Yep, 14-years-old. I somehow convinced my parents to let me travel from Chicago to Atlanta for E3 1998, where Metal Gear Solid debuted, and coerced E3's organizers to let me walk around. My dad was with me the whole time, too. He even sat in on my first appointments with companies, in which surprised but gracious PR people suddenly learned I was still growing up. I was hooked early and have doubled down on the decision ever since. The gaming community has treated me exceptionally well over the years, and I've tried to pay it back to them in kind....

..... cont.

If you want to get in touch, drop me an email at patrick.klepek@kotaku.com. My inbox is always open. Truly. I read every email sent my way, and do my best to actually respond to all of them. You can also follow my ramblings on Twitter, and ask me questions publicly on Tumblr. If you have a story you'd like me to look into, please let me know! For now, it's time to get to work.

Kotaku has improved itself so much in the last few years and it just keeps on improving. Quite an impressive about face.

Polygon could learn from Kotaku. (Which is funny, because Brian Crecente, the EIC of Polygon, was the EIC of Kotaku before Totilo)

I like Patrick but never really visit Kotaku that much. I don't think that will change in the near future. Hope everything goes well for him though.

Basically this

Him and Jason Schreier's style works well together. A good fit. Might make me want to read Kotaku more than once a week now.

Congrats to him. It's a bit surprising since it seems like a lateral move of sorts, but he's always had a hearty respect for Totilo and I'm sure he's doing what's best for his career.

I'll miss him on GB, but he'll probably be a better fit as a hard news man over there.

Was kinda hoping he'd start his own gig, though.

I thought he would be going here. I think this is perfect for Patrick and what he wants to do. Can't wait to read his stuff.

Wow. Figured he would go to a place like Kotaku or Polygon. I guess he wasn't happy that GB is pretty much a glorified YouTube channel at this point and wants to do more investigate work.

He's a great writer and I wish him the best of luck.

Those of you with reservations about Kotaku would be immature not to do the same.
