I like hunting for old games at goodwill or flea markets for cheap. Having to hunt at different Targets or toys r us for something that just came out isnt fun and is a pain in the ass. Even more so when shit is discontinued immediately, never getting a chance to hit shelves because of pathetic stock.

Aha, just got an email saying that too! After I get all my orders I should only be short Little Ma for the entire collection.

and people without jobs that clear out the stores before anybody else has a chance. It's a real problem plaguing these amiibos, a problem Nintendo brought on themselves from quick discontinuation and lack of clear communication.

I wish you were right. I had my order cancelled the first time and reinstated. I had my order cancelled again and it's not free for me nor did they give me any coupons. Thanks TRU!

I really don't understand why they changed Link's angle like that. The yellow stand is what most people complained about, but that doesn't bother me so much as the fact that the final version of link is staring at the ground. His foot on the floor is attached to the back of the disc, when it should be attached to the FRONT. Then he would be looking forward like he's supposed to, and he would still have the yellow stand on his leg.

Just makes no sense.

It's Nintendo's game though. I remember the pikachu 3ds that literally was only for sale on one day and my target only got one to sell. The jakks pacific Nintendo toys had shitty stock too and made me stop looking for them.

The retailer exclusives are going to be a shitshow, preorders are already a circus.

Agreed though I think Lucario and Shulk will have decent stock at least for a while. TRU and Gamestop seem to be getting the most amiibo stock. It's the other two I'd worry about.
 
I had my order with toy r us cancelled twice (last cancel was pit and falcon), and so far I haven't received any mail , either with free credit or restoring my order :(
 
Well guys.... I opened 2 amiibo tonight

It actually felt really good. Ive had basically all of wave 1 and 2 boxed for about a week now. It was time to play with my toys, damnit!

Anyway, I used an exacto blade to cut along the edges, minus the top part, and was able to open it and keep the box in pristine condition. I know this may hurt the re-sell value, but I think there is still a market for open amiibos with their box in tact. Especially maybe 5-10 years from now.

Time to go train up Pikachu and Mario!
 
It feels good to finally have captain falcon. I opened up the box as soon as I got home. Looks really good too. I thought the stand would look a lot worse but honestly it isn't that bad. Now I just need pit and i'll be set with my wishlist from Wave 2.

Yes I think he is at least partly trolling, he doesn't have that many preorders (100 Rosalinas, yeah sure), I doubt he has that kind of money. That being said, I have no doubt he has a corner full of amiibos.

"I think you guys are taking it a little bit too extreme to say its a bad thing to do. It is a hobby of mine to collect and to make easy money from it is even better reward."

Didn't he crap up this thread talking about how evil collecting is and how collectors are no better than scalpers? I wonder what that makes him then as a collector and scalper?

Full circle? Has he posted here before?

100 Rosalinas did seem pretty unrealistic given the time frame. But 32 Shulks is entirely possible after hearing that story of the AmiiboGaf member here having his GameStop store/district wiped of Shulks by one person.
 
Received an email from Toys R Us saying my Captain Falcon cancellation was a technical error and it has been reinstated. If you've had some recent cancellations from them, be on the lookout for similar emails.

Ok I still don't believe he has 100 Rosalinas. Either way, even if he does it amuses me how he continues to seek out the approval of other gamers. In his mind, if he makes a lot of money, then it's ok to behave in a crappy way. But then again, I guess that is capitalism in a nutshell.

Edit: Oh well he has 100 Rosalina's not just from Target. I guess it's possible then. Good for him I guess.

He's so bored that he's gone to the IGN forums. And he seems to be using not so offensive language. He's obviously lonely and just wants his fellow scalpers to come out and praise his talented ways. He's practically begging for attention.

It is also a bit sad that he doesn't get why people are upset with his ways. Yes he's making money and he thanks Nintendo. What I don't think he understand is that he's taking actual PEOPLE'S money so of course PEOPLE are going to be upset. People who have been tirelessly trying to get what he has and he is flaunting it all. If he wants friends and attention, he shouldn't brag how he has everything and say f u to anyone who disagrees.

I've been monitoring the Wii Fit Trainer amazon page for like 5 days now. I just saw it the second it went "in stock", clicked buy, it said "we cannot ship this to your default address" (???), hit refresh, out of stock.

Either they're literally putting up 1 or 2 at a time or the page is glitching, or something. Shenanigans.

It's all about angles, man. If you look at Link from a straight side shot, where you can't see the top or bottom of the base (just like in Nintendo's shot of the prototype) you get...

I'm not sure it does much good. They can have their friends share the link if they have a gaf account, for example. I've done it though, and others have as well so far (hide the links that is). My opinion is, if you want to because you think it will stop some scalpers, do it but I don't think we should try to impose anything.
 
Would love to get a Wii Fit Trainer, only character from the initial Wave I'm trying to actively get. I'd gladly trade 2/3 of Pit, Little Mac, Captain Falcon if anyone has an extra,

He's been stalking people here, looking up their usernames on skype if they match. He seems unhinged, I wouldn't continue to engage him. Sometimes ignore/block is a good solution.
 
I ordered 2 MM LE's just so I have the chance to get 1. Going to give the other to a friend or someone on NeoGAF if they can't knab one. Fuck scalpers.

I have gotten pretty lucky as Best Buy has came through with all my amiibos, exception of Wii Fit Trainer which I got from Walmart, and Marth & Villager which I imported, I kind of wish I bought 2 of each amiibo but I am not rich lol.

That guy is just an attention whore. Just ignore his pathetic ass, and everyone will forget about him. :P

Thanks for the heads up. That's a bit weird... I just blocked him. Like said earlier, best not to give him attention. I will follow suit in that regard.
 
I sure wish I had ONE Rosalina pre-ordered... I don't have $1300+ to even bother to buy 100, even if I could :/
 
Is it me or Link is getting more rare?

I went to like three different stores today and I haven't seen a single Link. Lot of Zelda though.

The only problem with Link is the majority of their heads are bent downwards due to warping.
Its an easy fix.

I got Samus, Peach, and Pikachu I ordered from them on the 30th today. I was really excited to get them open and on the shelf. Plus my Samus doesn't seem to be leaning.

I got the order error email from Tru too. So I'm looking forward to getting my Falcon in the next week or so.

That leaves Diddy, Link, Zelda, Kirby to get sometime this month. I think I'm going to call it quits on looking for Marth or Little Mac.

Thats what I the get for waiting til after Christmas to decide to buy into these. Getting Smash as gift was my tipping point. At least I have some of wave 3 pre-ordered.
