So Toys R Us manager showed me why they have not released Captain Falcon and Pit yet, some even already have them in the back but can´t sell them because they have a tight leash on them.

They gave me the official release date they have, but they told me it can change any moment if the corporation feels like it.

Send me a PM to tell you the release date I saw in the memo.

Seems really stupid.
 
I've got an extra US Captain Falcon I'd love to trade for any region's Villager. At this point I just really want to play with him. :,(

Why so secrecy? the information are already OUT on other forums and reddits.
 
No regrets unwrapping Marth, he just looks great, love the design on his cape as well.

Although I haven't personally seen them, a guy who works at TRU told me that that particular one already had Captain and Pit on the shelf, only that they only had 4 of each. He told me this like 2 days ago when I stopped up there and ended up chatting with him for a few minutes.


That said, I really wonder what the releases of wave 3 are going to be like. I've heard this month for some, on Feb. 1st for others (including the exclusives), I think I heard later in Feb. as well. I would like to stop at Target on Feb 1st at opening to see if they have any, but I don't know if that's the going to be the release for sure or if they'll drop them a few days earlier (or later for that matter).

Plus then you could hide the info from any potential scalper stalkers. If someone strange PMs you, don't give them the info till they answer these questions 3 kinda thing.

I've been watching the WFT and Little Mac pages for days, and every so often they will flash in stock for literally like 5 seconds, but you can never add to cart. I think it's a glitch, honestly. Or they are available for less than 5 seconds at a time.



In other news, I finally decided to import a Japanese WFT. $23 total. Worth it to be done with the waiting :D

in the last thread I found out from a TRU employee that they were having shipment disputes with their delivery company.

If it clarifies anything, I received my Pit preorder from TRU yesterday. It's part of the Lucario error code though so I dunno if they're withholding stock until those are covered first.

Third party seller on amazon. Prices from the Japanese companies go up and down, I bit on $23 including tax and shipping

Edit: right now it looks like $27 is the cheapest
 
Well, TRU cancelled my ebay Captain Falcon order now, I´m okay with that since Best Buy came through and the shipping cost was stupid.

I may stalk the TRU stores tho, I want to nab a captain for future trades.

I just got hooked on these. I went out the other day and bought every single one they had left. I was able to get, everything besides Fox, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, and Marth. Yeah of course, the rare ones.

I even made a special shelf mounted under my original theatrical Miyzaki posters, where they are sitting. So far, I've kept them in their display box's, and I think they look nice enough. My luigi, diddy kong, pit, captain falcon, and Little Mac will be arriving before my birthday.

So soon I'll have all of that on my shelf.

Butt I still need Fox, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager and Marth. Fuck. :(

I havent gotten any of the Feb Wave on pre-order. So I'm going to be paranoid and will try every store on Feb 1st is it? To get one of each of the remaining. I'm pretty committed at this point to get the full collection. I'm too far in not to.

Is $69....okay for Villager? I mean, is it insane? I'm thinking of getting it, since it's a US version and is only 40 min from my house. I know it's obviously way over the original price. But I'm assuming Villager was the rarest, and they won't be making any more? If that's the case, maybe the price will just keep going up. I've kind of accepted I'll have to pay up the ass for a couple of these to finish my collection. Just wondering if $69 is like batshit insane.

It is batshit insane in the grand scheme of society in most of our opinions, but it appears to be about as cheap as an american villager is now.\

check ebay or amazon to get an idea if you're being ripped off any more than average.

Yeah lol. Sigh. I guess what I'm wondering, is if that is such an insane price, that it will go down in a couple months.

EDIT: Yeah, I've been checking Amazon and Ebay. Most of the Villager ones seems to generally go for $60 + or more IF they are the US version. The JP version can be found a little cheaper. On Amazon, most of the third party sellers are $60 but are from Japan shops. So I figure, maybe just pay $69 on ebay, the seller lives 40 min from me. *shrugs*.

Crazy price though. Gah.
 
If you're opening them, I'd suggest importing if possible. They're the same figures, not region locked, and the only difference that I'm aware of is packaging.

As for getting each one, they're going to make the cast of SSBU so you're looking at nearly 50 figures.

As for ones being rare, while there was no official statement, they have hinted at possibly re-releasing some of the ones that went off the shelf right away. Personally, I doubt they'll re-release WFT or Villager, etc. in the states, but you never know.

So far I've decided to keep each box on my shelf. I haven't opened them. I guess, I'm not collecting to make money. I just want to have them on my shelf to look at. So maybe I shouldn't be so picky, even if the Box has Japanese text on it. If the only reason I'm getting them is to have them on my shelf, then *shrugs*

That's a good point. Sadly, I've seen a lot of Japan villagers go for quite a bit still. To the point that, it's not THAT far off from the $69 US version I found near me. I guess I'll go look again, and see if I can find anything in the $40 range for the JP model. Most of the Amazon.jp site won't ship to my US address though. I think I have to set up one of those forwarding address where you pay a fee to have them send it to your real home address.

I also know about Amazon.de not sure if I have to do the same thing.
 
Okay so after seeing Ike being downgraded I started to look at the rest of the Japanese renders on the Japanese Amiibo site and Amazon.jp. Overall everything seems to be the same apart from Ike being downgraded but also as mentioned earlier in the thread, Bowser being rotated in the packaging, When going back and fourth between the UK and Japanese Sheik I noticed that everything seemed same apart from the face color, which was darker on the Japanese render. Is that just me?

Also another little thing, this pic as you all know was posted by Sakurai on his Twitter a while ago. Ike and Sheik aren't in this. Maybe that would indicate that everything here is locked, and everything not in this pic could see changes?

IDK. I'm busy hoping too, either for scalpers to give up, or a reprint to actually happen. Maybe Gamestop will pull a xenoblade and sell a reprint as used goods for some rare figures, if NoA won't actually do it.
 
The problem with ordering from Amazon.jp, it's $40, but then by the time I pay to have it ship to the middleman (since Amzon for some reason won't ship to me directly), I think it ends up costing $50 ish. So it's like, for $10 more you get the US version.

So yeah, so far I'm not finding any Villager models under $50. Thinking I might just have to accept that $69 price. Booo.

But it's def my fault for getting in on this latte. But the thirst is real now.

I'm a weirdo. But I buy things for my own enjoyment. Like I got the limited edition PS4 (The PS1 models). And I opened it to play it. I'm only buying these, because I love love Nintendo. They have been with me since childhood. And I love these little figures. And they look amazing on my shelf. And I get so happy looking at them. So that's why I want them. Sucks that the prices are so blown up. I just want them for visual enjoyment. :P

When you say instant purchase, that means they will ship directly to your house? Every amazon.jp order I have now, wants me to use a middle man shipping address to then ship it to my house. So that cost ends up bringing it up a bit.

I buy Blu Ray all the time on amazon.jp and they ship directly to me. But I guess Amazon.jp doesn't ship a lot of things over seas directly. And you need a special forward address you can sign up for.

EDIT: Shoot, I already got Falcon though. But still cool to know. :D

I hope you guys don't find my posts annoying. I'm kind of going through a rough time in my life right now. Just got out of a year long battle with cancer. Then I went through some PTSD/depression after remission. Trying to get my feet back on the ground. And these make me happy. Playing Smash makes me happy. So I plan on posting in this thread a bit. I hope it's not a bother. I'm sorry if it is. I just want to be on the hunt for these with you guys. :)

$60 is.. Pretty good for Villager. I mean we all know that it's high all things considered. But it's not $100+, either. Which is where almost all US versions have headed.

Sheesh. I remember when there were stacks of Villager Amiibos at EB Games. I'm glad I bought one early on...

Yeah, I fucked up by not jumping on these when they came out. I'm not proud to admit it, but I've been having a rough time this past month. I was going through a lot of emotional shit with my post-cancer stuff (remission doesn't mean it's over, you have to deal with the emotional toll).

As such, I came late to the party. I really sucks. But on the other hand, these make me happy. So as long as they make me happy, I feel it's not the worst way to spend money. It sucks that I could have gotten it cheaper though.

Thanks a lot man. I'm actually taking a break from most of GAF (mostly OT). But I feel like I can post in here with you guys, and feel at home. I really appreciate you guys giving me a place to hang out and talk about these. Again, these really make me happy. I promise to try not to be too annoying. :D

Aww. Glad these make you happy though, and I hope you can find some of the others cheaper - they pop up occasionally as places get new stock in. :) That's how I got the Little Mac this week, by randomly checking the EB Games website.

I've also ordered some Amiibos from Amazon.it. Villager isn't currently in stock there, but you can try ordering it (14.90 Euros), and they'll ship it to you when it's next available:
